Cal's been posting a bunch of Jim gifs in the Hockey Card thread, so fuck it, let's talk about hockey cards.

Your task: Build your dream team of SHL hockey cards (3 Forwards, 2 Dmen, 1 Goalie). What players are on this dream team, what overalls do they have on their hockey cards? Are they special celebration cards for awards or hall of fame? Is there a theme to your team? Just your friends? Go crazy

This PT is for SHL players and send downs only; it is not for SMJHL Rookies.

I have no idea about prior players, and I kind of barely know the who's who of current players. I'm going old school style. I'm buying one pack of cards, and whoever I get is whoever I get. Hopefully there's a holographic Charizard in my pack.

At LW we're gonna have Greyson Cooper of the QCC
At C we're gonna be rocking Makrus "The Tater" Jager because go Whalers!
At RW is Robot Sunfish because we love fishes and the sun and robots ofcourse and he was a Whaler!

Our two dmen will be NeverBrokeAgain YoungBoy the man himself, the most offensive offensive dman out there and a defensive boi called Kappa Kappa because.

As goalie ofcourse me myself, I am the best goalie afterall

The dream pack would have to be Lev Lebedev's rookie card, Ryuuji Minamino, and Mitchell van der Heijden. For defensemen, we'd go with Pasta the Turtle and Lyle Odelein III. For a goalie, definitely Olof Karsikko, the best goalie to never win an award.

I have two separate card pack ideas that would be interesting themes to open.
The big boiz pack would have all the players with the largest combined heights and weights while the smol gang pack would have the least combined heights and weights.

My dream team of SHL hockey cards would be the following:

F - Tony Pepperoni

F - Kyle Sutton

D - FR Finn-Rhys

D - Karlstrasse Scholz

G - Tommy Tuck

Sucks I can only choose 5, but this would be my dream team for the Edmonton Blizzard.

The theme is 'Cool people' and every player has an overall of 99
All the cards have incredible art. Spoiler alert all the available cards in the collection have an overall of 99 cause everybody is cool here.

I think players that I Haven't played with would be a good combo. There is a lot of those, Cassius Darrow definitely stands out for me, as does Elizabeth Doyle, beyond that it's really difficult to choose .

I open a glorious pack of cards and behold! a lovely pack of great players:

I am completely and utterly confused but delighted! It turns out it was a promotional pack they sent to each player in the league of themselves, so I feel a little less special.

I would just include all of my teammates from the Los Angeles Panthers on my dream team of SHL hockey cards. We have been having a good season and I would want to celebrate that. It would focus on this season and they would all have the best overalls.

I'm not picky about who I get but I'd just get a variety pack of Carolina Kraken alumni and hope for a shiny edition Jimmy Wagner. Hopefully also a stick of gum.

I love the North Stars, so my priority would be locking down an North Stars team. Rhys Pritchard would be on there. Bobby Lane. Ruslan Zaporozhets. Adam Barron. Ryu Jones. Danny Marston. Harry Carpet. I'd also want to make sure I got Mika Kandinsky. In my opinion that era in Toronto is the best group to never win a cup.

There only needs to be one card to rule them all. A player so good he can play all 5 positions and goal at the same time. None other than Eko van Otter. He has played forward and defense in his career, so throwing him in at goalie will work since he's so old he can barely stand. All card would have a rating of 100. He's the best there ever was.
