TASK 6
So the stream that I chose to watch was the IIHF semifinal stream that was played on May 10, 2022. I watched this stream because my previous player, James Kimanje, had a chance to go for gold in his last season in the IIHF if Sweden could get past Japan, and I wanted to see the Swedes do everything in their power to complete the upset. In the first period, Japan scored and Sweden swiftly equalized, however as the game rolled onto the second period, it became a 2-1 and then a 3-1 game in favor of Japan. The third period rolled around, bringing with it no new goals for either team, until with 14 minutes left a goal from the Swedes put them down only 3-2, and 8 minutes later, the Swedes equalized to make it a 3-3 game. The third period ended, and overtime came, which saw some very close plays and possession largely dominated by Sweden, which was a change from the previous 60 minutes of hockey where Japan had controlled the puck the majority of the time. After the first overtime period, the score was still knotted 3-3, and second overtime began. Possession seemed somewhat even, slightly favoring Sweden, headed into the 6th minute of the period, when all of a sudden, a stray puck into the corner was controlled by Juni Panda and passed to my player James Kimanje, the Ugandan hockey player, who took the shot of his life and put the puck into the back of the net, beating Jonas Johansson and sending an exuberant Team Sweden to the gold medal game for the first time in what seems like forever. And in that moment, a transfer pulled off way back in S56 became so incredibly significant. Unfortunately, Sweden would lose the gold medal game by a very ugly score of 5-1 to Team Finland, but Kimanje sealing a top two finish for his adopted country will forever be one of my favorite moments in sim leagues now. 7. I jumped in about halfway through the stream of the S65 SMJHL Regular Season Day 1 stream. First game I caught was the Anchorage Armada vs. Quebec City Citadelles game. While it remained relatively close through the first two periods, ultimately the Citadelles wound up absolutely slaughtering those poor Alaskan boys, with the game ending 10-3. Despite being relatively even statistically, ultimately the Armada could not stand up to Quebec City's staggering 53 shots on goal. It would be a tough task even for the greatest of the great to hang on through over 50 shots in a night. The next game was the St. Louis Scarecrows vs. the Nevada Battleborn. This game was highly entertaining, ending up in an overtime period to remember--St. Louis, despite having exactly half of the shots on goal that Nevada did (22 to 44, respectively), the Scarecrows managed to battle through the adversity and come up big over the Battleborn, who are surely dissapointed by losing a game that they probably should have won.

7. We I write about the WJC or do I have to wait for the SMJHL to start?
If you accept here we go:
Round Robin Day 6: Start with a game when Team DACH play against Team USA. After one period it was already 2-2 so both goalie (Rebecca Montagne and Justin Time) didn't have a good start. After the period 3, the score was 4-4 with two goals on each side with less than 5 minutes. No winner in OT. USA win in shootout. 37 vs 26 in the shots department in the advantage of Team DACH.
The second game was Team British Isles against Team Finland. The home team take the lead in the first with a late goal. The British Isles respond with 2 goals in the second period to take control of the game. Team Finland manage to score a goal in the third period and after nobody score in overtime, another game goes to shootout. It's Stephan Gill who score the game winning goal thanks to Anthony Dionne with 57 saves in the game.
Team UCORCAL need overtime to beat Team World 5-4 even if they got 40 shots on goal versus 24.
Team Sweden beat Team North America by the score of 3-1. 38-23 the shots on goal lead by the swedes.
Team Canada destroy Team North America 6-1 with 57 shots on goal against only 16.
Team British Isles got close to another overtime game but lose 2-1 in regular when Team ICE beat them.
In the last game, Team UCORCAL try their best with 39 shots on goal on B Jobin but he manage to help is team win the game 3-2.

7. I watched day 1 of the SMJHL. It was a long stream, but it started with Detroit beating Kelowna 5-3 to kick off S65, and then Quebec City played old school football vs Anchorage and won 10-3. St. Louis and Nevada went to OT and my short-lived first team took it on a golden goal. Then I had my first regular season game as a Whaler. We lost, but I got my first assist of the season, hopefully the first of many. Regina and Carolina played a tight game, and Regina took it in a shootout. Newfoundland squeaked by GFG 2-1, and to end the first round of games of the season, Colorado kind of slaughtered Yukon, winning 6-2. And that was just the first games. Other highlights include my 2nd assist later on, despite us losing all 3 of our games, and Maine and Detroit going perfect on the first day to currently top the standings.

-To verify, please do one of the following and post it in your rookie tasks claim:
- Write 150 words about the games that happened during the stream

It is Day 3 of the SMJhL season and my gut gave me a good feeling about today. Tuning into Yukon’s sim, Oles went off on the anchorage armada. Two power play snipes in the first period (not to mention both goals were less than two minutes apart!) along with an even strength goal with 4 minutes to spare in the first period! Yukon’s message was clear and it was that they came ready to play the second that puck dropped. Up 4-1 to end the first, the armada would come back to make it 4-3 at the end of the second period. While panic started to set in on Yukon’s bench as god forbid you blow a 3-1 lead, Yukon would go on to score ANOTHER 2 power play goals in the period and eventually ending the game with an 8-3 win.

It only took less than ten games for Oles to notch his first hat trick, I’m excited to see how the rest of the season plays out!
