There will be a changing of the guard this season for the Jets. For the past few seasons Dominic Turcotte proudly wore the "C" for the Jets and he was a great leader and captain for Winnipeg, but I felt a change was needed. Starting this season, the Winnipeg Jets will have new captains and assistants.
I am very proud to introduce the new captain of the Winnipeg Jets, CLAUDIO KREJCI!!!
Joining Krejci as the assistant captains are RON MEXICO and SERGEY KOVALENKO!!!
Krejci has been a strong voice in the locker room and has become one of the top players in the SHL so this choice was really a no-brainer.
Kovalenko is one of the top up-and-coming players in the SHL and is also a strong presence in the locker room and it will help him serve as an assistant along with Mexico and Krejci. There is no need to explain why Mexico got an "A". He's been the best player the past few seasons and has always been a leader on and off the ice.
I'm very confident these 3 people will help lead Winnipeg back to prominence.
