So I watch quite a few movies and play quite a few games. So I figured I'd do a page like Nando's where I'll review movies and games. I will also review TV shows and other things occasionally

So for movies it'll be on a scale of 1-5 Stars. For games it will be done IGN'esque. 1-10 for Gameplay, Audio, Story, Visual, Replayability
So here we go I'll start with one game and will update as I go. I have quite a few I plan on doing now.

The Walking Dead: The Game

The Walking Dead the TV show isn't one of my favorites, it's a good show but never managed to drag me in like some other shows. The game was not like that, it was GREAT. I picked this game up at Redbox for free since I had a free code lying around. I didn't anticipate liking it as much as I did and anticipated playing it for a couple hours and playing NHL or Borderlands like I do on most nights.

The first thing that intrigued me was the comic book style artwork. It was nice and original. It looked a lot like the comic books and was very well done. The visuals were good for what they were going for. However they weren't perfect, there was a lot of lag at times and problems with the game where it'd be behind the audio. At one point I actually had to restart the game because it was so bad and the gameplay was unplayable at that point and I missed a couple quick time events because the buttons weren't responding.

The game is set up into 5 chapters (It was released chapter by chapter as DLC) this game has all of them combined. The chapter based game is pretty neat, each chapter feels like a completely different story. You grow to love certain characters and hate others. The best part is your gameplay decides who lives and dies and how. (To an extent) You start as Lee, a murderer on his way to jail after being convicted, the cop car slides off the road and you're free after some struggle with the cuffs and such. You see some zombies, fuck em up and move on to the backyard of a house. You break into the house (Like a boss) and find that nobodies home. You find a walkie talkie and start talking to a young girl who lives there, she's hiding from the zombies in the tree house. After finding her you become her parent pretty much, promising to help her find her parents (So she doesn't become zombie food) so that's the premise, it's surviving with those 2. I like Lee, he was pretty cool and I played him like I feel I would react in those situations. Which was nice and I felt like each decision I made was actually going to impact the game which was new.

The controls were a tad annoying, the constant changing camera made certain spots ridiculously annoying. One spot I never would have realized that I had to do a series of about 10 things to get past, none of them making a whole lot of sense pertaining to the part you needed.

I did finish the game and it was my first Platinum trophy, I ended up keeping the game for about 4 days, I finished 2 chapters the first day, 1 the 2nd, 1 the 3rd and the final chapter the 4th day. The game was very solid when you look around the faults, and I really am looking forward to the 2nd season of it which is coming out later this year. It was a nice change of pace from the mindless games put out today. It was a more open Heavy Rain.

Gameplay- 8.5/10. The controls were simple but a tad clunky. The gameplay itself was great aside from the few times where the game seemed to lose sync, making the audio and video completely unlooped. Overall though, I had a great time, Game lasted about 10 hours (Around 2 hours a chapter) and I never really got bored of it

Audio- 8/10. Not overly important but it was good, nothing spectacular but it didn't have to be

Story- 10/10 No complaints at all. Loved the story

Visuals- 7.5/10 The games visuals were unique but at the same time had room for improvement. Some of the facial expressions didn't quite match up

Replayability 8/10 From the ending I got I feel as though the ending is somewhat predetermined (as in you end up in the same spot every time just in different ways) and that makes it replayable to an extent. But not something I'm dying to do.

OVERALL- 8.4-- Great!

Up next I'll probably do a few movies that I've watched recently Smile

Would someone like to pin this for me pwease? I'ma update it regularly
Pinned, get Catherine, it should keep you entertained for a while with is crazy ass plot, lol.
That game is fucking amazing. It actually makes you care about the characters and when you have to make a tough choice you feel it lol
Nice review, Walking Dead was amazing.

That game is ridiculously tough, the choices are so damn hard, and the ending....

Oh the ending....

Crybaby

Which games are you guys playing at the moment?

I just picked up this game called El Shaddai yesterday i have no idea what the game is about but it has amazing reviews and it was pretty cheap. Also started playing AC 3 after i gave up on brotherhood half way thought it my save file got corrupted.
MLB the show pretty much exclusively. Best sports game I have played since NHL 95
i am holding out on the Show waiting until the season starts to get it since i don't usually play it without the full minor rosters from the vault.
I might have to get the WD game.
seems pretty cool

I just finished Far Cry 3. Now I'm playing NHL 13 and Bioshock in preparation for Bioshock: Infinite.

The Paranormal Activity movies have always been a guilty pleasure of mine. I loved the first and second one. Both really fun movies to see in the theater and pretty good overall despite the idiotic characters. The 3rd one may be my favorite in the series after watching it. I don't scare easy, and these movies don't scare me because for the most part the jumps are predictable and the main part that's entertaining is the progression of the demon/ghost/spirit thing and this one did it very well. I loved the overall setup of it and the little girls were funny as hell. The movie had a few good scares (Danielle jumped quite a bit which is always funny). The special effects in it were pretty neat at points and overall the story wasn't entirely unbelievable which is a plus in these stories. It's something where if you're not whole-heartedly against ghosts these ones aren't entirely unbelievable.

And then comes the downfall. The first two I loved the endings I thought they were entertaining and a tad creepy. This one was unpredictable but honestly I hated it. It completely threw out the possibility of this actually happening. The movie was good if you cut out the last 15 minutes or so in my opinion

Overall- 3.5/5 stars. My favorite of the Paranormal Activity Series up until the last 15 minutes which really let me down. I liked the story behind this one and really found it to be interesting and the acting by the children was actually quite good which was surprising

MLB, I'm not a baseball fan by any means, I legitimately know as little about baseball as someone who's watched a few games can know. I know the rules but besides the big names I know nothing. I got this game because I know MLB The Show games are pretty well done. Even though I suck at them and usually end up just playing as pitcher since it's all I can do, this game was different. From the minute I put it in I was actually enjoying it. I started with a Road to the Show and made myself a pitcher, usually I cannot hit to save my life, but the new Beginner mode was really slick I loved it. It gets better as you get better. It starts with fastballs down the middle and then they'll add movement, then breaking balls (When batting) and pitching was a joy as always. The game was gorgeous as always. The visuals were stunning, the way they made it look like an actual game broadcast was great. I loved it. Best looking sports game I've ever played.

The Season mode is nice, I don't know a lot of players but I did feel as though the ratings actually meant something. I won't comment a whole lot on the season as I only spent a few minutes playing it but the simming was plenty fast and I could see myself enjoying the season mode if I knew more players.

Not much I can say bad about this game, the one thing I was not very fond of was the throwing on the RTTS as a pitcher, I couldn't figure out how to get it to the classic controls of O to 1st, Triangle to 2nd, Square to 3rd. X home so I was throwing to 3rd on a routine dribbler down the middle.

Overall this game was great, as someone who knows nothing about baseball I didn't feel overwhelmed or feel as though I couldn't get into this one. I loved the game and the way it was made will accommodate any sports fan. There was nothing overly glaring I disliked about this one

Story- N/A it's a sports game
Gameplay- 10/10 no complaints
Visuals- 10/10 Stunning Visuals
Audio- 9/10 Audio was good, the soundtrack was good not great
Replayability- 10/10 It's there

Overall= 9.75 Amazing!

In RTTS, the controls flip because of the direction you're throwing, so it'd be square to 1st and O to 3rd. Weird, I know, but it's been like that forever.
Get Legend of Dragoon from the PS store it is only 5 bucks and if you can stomach the engrish the game is solid.
