The behind the Sens net view looks like shoulder to shoulder, possibly hit head on follow through.

Looked like dipshit pass. If Diaz didn't fuck up, neither would Ellers face.
The nhl is soft as fuck if thats suspension worthy
Just my two cents here by what I've seen: looking at this hit it will be a suspension because it is a type of hit they're telling people to avoid. The main target wasn't the head, it was the shoulder, but it is the responsibility of the player making the hit to recognize that this player CANNOT see him. His head is turned, therefore he is a defenseless player, meaning Gryba has to understand that and move forward with caution. He chose to hit too high, ended up hitting the head. He will be suspended for at least a game to send him a message that you have to be careful about how you handle these types of plays.
Dumb pass by Diaz though, gotta agree Gib.
1 game probably. Sit Diaz next game. Good to go.
i just got home...any links yet?

I mean, what do you want him to do? Let him go? The guy is 6'5' you want him to duck low where he'll lose his leverage? If those are the type of hits we want gone...well I'm pretty disappointed about the future of hockey.

That's pretty good. Shows shoulder to shoulder. maybe head from follow through. Damage caused by faceplanting into the ice :s
Biggest thing is that he landed on his face, makes it look alot worst than it already is. Clean hit.
it seems kind of like that Cowen on Skinner hit to me, and i dont think Cowen was suspended for it

I want him to keep off the head, just like the NHL does. They'll review it, and we understand he's not completely at fault for this, but the rules CLEARLY STATE that a player in that position is defenseless and thus he is to tread with caution. He knows that there's a good chance of hitting the head or causing injury, and so he needs to be smart about how he plays this. I don't know how to play it precisely, but it will be something Shanahan will talk with him about. We need to protect the head, or do you want hockey to be gone in 10 years when lawsuits and deaths finally start taking it's toll like it has on football? (Which is quickly dropping below basketball as the popular sport of America because of the brain injuries and the awful hits)
The only reason this game is tied is because of Anderson. Habs are absolutely dominating this game
