Currently awaiting the start of both the preseason and the regular season for the 7th season in SHL history, the players can do nothing but continue their training and wait until they finally get a chance to get back on the ice, or for the rookies that are just beginning to start their SHL careers, get the chance to step onto SHL ice for the first time. We have managed to get a hold of one such rookie from the Manhattan Rage, Yuri Kulikov. As Kulikov’s English is not very strong, we needed the help of a Russian translator.
R – Do you believe that you should have been picked higher in the draft than the 3rd round 21st overall pick that selected you?
YK – Нет, я была выбрана, где я был, потому что я еще новичок в американской игре. Я тоже присоединился к Северо-ЗападнойМладший Хоккей Leage слишком поздно, чтобы оказать серьезное влияние на мою позиционирование проекта. Тот факт, чтоя пошел настолько высока, до сих пор поражает меня. (No. I was selected where I was because I am still new to the American game. I also joined the North West Junior Hockey Leage too late to have a serious impact on my positioning for the draft. The fact that I went so high still astounds me.)
R – Clearly, Manhattan wanted you due to your current Agent’s ties with the team. Do you think that his lack of success here in Manhattan puts any stress on you to do better?

Obviously I hope to have better numbers than Matthew did during his time here, but we shall see how I'm able to do over time.)
R – Throughout the preseason training camps and practices, you have been slotted on one of the three “1st lines” that Rage GM Quilha Agante has been preaching about since the draft. How do you think you will do, as well as your supposed line mates Gianni Ciddio and Yuri Volkov?

R – You’re generally listed as an offensive forward. Yet Agante has placed you in a lot of defensive roles on this team, over some more veteran players. Why?
YK - Я думаю, он увидит мое умение играть на мой собственный конец. Мне нравится играть с хорошей защитой первойменталитет, потому что именно вы выиграете хоккейных играх.(I guess he see's my ability to play in my own end. I like to play with a good defense first mentality because that is how you win hockey games.)
R – One last question… despite seeing and hearing all the rumors about how the Manhattan Rage will finish this year, where do you see the team ending up?
YK - Неважно, что думают другие люди. Важно то, что команда думает. Мы все верим, что эта команда далеко пойдет, и чтовсе, что я должен сказать. (It doesn't matter what other people think. What matters is what the team thinks. We all believe that this team will go far, and that is all I have to say.)
