After another bad season, Las Vegas Kings captain Thomas Duddy send out a short and sweet press release.

"After a long time as captain of the Las Vegas Kings, I officialy step down and let the young guard take over the leadership role. I failed at leading my team to the promised land. It felt like letting all of my teammates and the city of Las Vegas down. I expected more from myself and this is the only logical step. I wanted to step down last season, but had a change of heart after talking with some of my closest friends. After spending my whole career in Vegas, I feel like I didn't do enough to continue on as captain. I'm still signed long term, will they keep me around? I don't know, I won't put any obstacles in their way if they want to trade me, so my NTC is basically waived for all teams. I still feel like having 3-4 good seasons left, before I have to think about hanging em up. I'd love to win a cup in Vegas, the whole team deserves it. With the rash of bad luck we had ever since I was a rookie, I think there's no other team in the SHL more deserving of a cup than us.
But on the other side, if we don't get closer, I'd probably have to retire without a cup and I don't really like the thought of that to be honest. I always wanted to win the Challenge Cup, I won at every level, I think it's time for me to win in the big leagues and I hope it will be next season and with the kings."
