In the whirlwind of events of the last week for the Manhattan Rage, second line center Jordan Nugent-Hall sat down with TSN’s The Reporters to do a quick interview.

Interview Dave Hodge - Welcome to the TSN studios Jordan, it’s a pleasure to have you here.

Jordan Nugent-Hall – Thanks Dave, always great to be here.

Interview DH – So as you know, the last week has been crazy for the Manhattan Rage. You guys lose a thriller of a series to the New England Wolfpack, and then all of a sudden it seems like your team’s falling apart. What’s going on in Manhattan?

JNH: – Well first of all I’d like to congratulate the New England Wolfpack. They came in as the underdogs and really proved their worth against us. I don’t know if we took them too easy, but it was surprising to say the least. I have a tremendous amount of respect for this franchise and I’ll be cheering for them in the finals. In terms of free agency, we look like we’re going to be losing Heiss, Willems, Sto Helit, Winter and probably Passarella. These are 5 key pieces of the team and while we’ll still have some guys around, it’s kind of tough to look to the future when that happens.

Interview DH: – Would you say that the Rage are entering into a rebuild?

JNH: – Yeah I guess in a way you could say that the rebuild has begun again. We took some risks on some trades and they didn’t pay off which is truly a shame. We thought we had the right squad together and I guess we just weren’t destined for greatness.

Interview DH: – Yesterday, a couple of the Rage announced that they would be hanging up the skates. What are your thoughts on that?

JNH: – I think it’s kind of disappointing to say the least when you see some good friends walk away from the game at such a young age, but they clearly thought it was best for them. I’m happy that they had some closure on the career and I wish them the best of luck in their future endeavours.

Benoit Charlebois is one of my favourite teammates that I’ve ever played with. First day of training camp he comes in miffed at the GM’s that his paperwork wasn’t done correctly, but from there it was all sunshine. He’s hilarious, has made my day many times and I’m proud to say that I was teammates with this man. I hope we get to re-unite some day because I will truly miss him.

Yuri Kulikov was the first guy who welcomed me to Manhattan after drafting me. He helped me tremendously at the start of my career and while he isn’t the most vocal guy, he’ll be missed for sure. The veteran presence he brought was amazing and the chemistry that we had in our first years in Manhattan will be unforgettable. May that JNH – McArthur – Kulikov line live forever in infamy.

Interview DH: – Well that was quite touching. Do you think that this rebuild will be successful in Manhattan?

JNH: – Definitely. D_a already made it through one rebuild successfully and I have faith that he will be able to go in and prove to people that he is one of the greatest GM’s. In my opinion, it will be a speedy rebuild and Manhattan will be back on it’s feet in no time.

Interview DH: – Last question, you had the option to become a free agent this year. Why didn’t you?

JNH: - *chuckles and smirks a bit at Dave* Because I’m too damn good to leave Manhattan. No, but on a serious note, Manhattan’s my home. If I were to leave it under any circumstances it wouldn’t be free agency because I would want them to get something for me. With them already losing so many pieces, I feel like that would be a selfish move against a franchise that I owe my career to. If it weren’t for them, I might still be playing Beer League hockey back in my hometown. They took a chance on me in the draft and I sure as hell am not going to go around fucking them over.

Interview DH: – Alright, thanks for coming Jordan. Come back anytime.

JNH: – Thanks Dave.
