It was broken today, that the Manhattan Rage S20 second round pick and one of the cornerstone's of their franchise for the past 5 seasons was being moved to the Texas Renegades in a massive blockbuster trade that saw Chuck Goody, Simon Palat, and Mikhail K, moved to Texas in exchange for 2 first round picks, Sterling Knight and Xavier Gauthier. That trade was broken only moments ago, but Simon Palat has had almost a full 24 hours to stew in the emotions that followed his former GM Daniel Merica and his new GM Maxim Horvat agreeing to a deal. Palat has made himself available for media questions and is here now to give his first statement as a member of the Texas Renegades and also to field any questions that may arise, Palat's statement is below.

First of all, I want to thank Daniel Merica and Tommy Creller for everything they've done for me, this has been a great 5 seasons in my life, and spending them with a group of guys as great as the Manhattan Rage has been is something that is irreplaceable. When I made my comment two seasons ago in the playoffs that I would not be re-signing with the Rage should we not make it to the Challenge Cup finals before my contract ended, I thought it was inevitable that we would pull together and make a big push for our second cup. We came up a little short the past two seasons and it's something that's prompted some change in the Rage locker room. I told Merica that if he thought he could get a good return for me that he could move me without any hard feelings. It turns out that he had a similar conversation with Chuck Goody and he thought it was worthwhile to make that move. I just wanted to say thank you to some people on the Rage before fielding questions.

Merica- One of my best friends on the site, you've been amazing since you arrived in Manhattan, you and Nike built an amazing team together that helped bring me my first cup in the league despite being here since almost the beginning. I can't thank you enough for everything you've done for me and I am really happy I could pay you back one more time by getting a really good return for Manhattan in this move.

Mook- Honestly, we were on the same Junior team if memory serves, I didn't pay much attention to the juniors and when the Rage drafted you I only knew one thing about you, you posted amazing booty gifs in the locker room. I've grown to love you very much, you're a fellow Lightning fan, you still post great booty gifs and you're on the up and up as a league GM and I know you'll continue to grow and will eventually become an amazing SHL GM.

Buster- I probably have spent more time on a team with you than anyone else in the league, Between Detroit, WKP, Manhattan we've been linked together for quite some time. I really hope that Manhattan isn't the last time because you're one of my favorite members, you're awesome and I will never forget your GWG's that carried the Rage to the cup Wink

CJ- Another one I have a long history with. You're a great teammate and someone I really enjoy talking to, it's been awesome being on WKP and Manhattan with you and you're one of the best goalies I've had the privilege of playing in front of, I hope to see you come back to the league at a full capacity some day because you're great!

Ocho- We never get to spend much time together do we? I think this is the 2nd or 3rd time we've been on a team together, that ended in less than a full season. You're great, we get along awesome and I'm really going to miss being on a team with you :(

Morgan- My fellow Duck Fan buddeh!!!! Going to suck not being able to get on the boards following a game 7 heartbreak and bitch about Boudreau with you, I really hope our paths cross again, Ducks fans don't come around much on these boards and we gotta stick together!!!

JHS- We have spent only a week or so together on the team but it was a great week. You're a great GM, fuck the haters, I hope the thunderdome threads continue to come with your name in them, because usually in 2 weeks they become hysterically ironic. Our paths will meet again one way or another my friend!

Narconis- We only got to spend a season together, and I'm very sad we weren't able to get you the cup you signed in Manhattan for, but I had a great time getting to know you this past season and we definitely need to play some NHL 16 EASHL once it's out!

Jorec- One of the quieter guys, mainly stick to the locker room but a truly great teammate, you're very likeminded with the rest of the Rage, but are definitely not quite as outspoken which is a great trait to have Wink Hope to be on a team with you again sometime bud!

Spangs- Oh Spangs, we have quite a long history, we may not always see eye to eye but I love you and although you've grown to the point where the league is now more of an afterthought to you, your movie reviews, your album reviews and your funny outbursts at time are awesome.

I'm very excited to join the Renegades, and I get to join with Nike and we get to stay together which is great, and I'm very excited to join Deener. Deener and I have been rivals since Season 2, friendly rivals but rivals none-the-less, back to the days of the Outlaws vs Whalers, and it's crazy to think we're going to be on the same team, this is the first time in 24 seasons that our paths will cross, and I'm excited for that moment to finally come.

I will field any questions about my future with the Renegades or my past with the Rage

Do you think Ranjan is good enough for a cup win this season? - Ranjan has proved to be a steady goaltender with a team that features such a strong defense I think he could very easily be our Corey Crawford, Antti Niemi, Ray Emery, Michael Leighton, who doesn't necessarily have to be a HOF goaltender but is a good backstop who can perform in the big game when needed!

Also should I sign in Texas- YES!!!! It's been far too long since we were on the same team and we need to right that wrong. We would have the best defense in the league and will get you the cup you deserve!!!!

Question 1- Yes I'm very happy to be going with not only a teammate, but a teammate that had enough faith in me to draft me in a stacked S20 draft.

Question 2- Not even close it's getting that cup, not only my favorite Manhattan moment, my favorite SHL moment!

Question 3- I want a cup, I have faith in this roster the more I look at it and I think we'll be able to compete, it's what Deener does best

Question 4- I would be okay with any of the 3 DMen that are All-Stars on the Gades, hell if we sign Stryker, Palat might see himself moved to forward :S Idk what Deener's plans are, but whoever I'm put with in whatever capacity will have my full devotion!

Who are you excited to play with and why?

Do you think Texas is the best situation for you right now?

Some said Texas would be in a rebuild, do you think this move helps bridge that cap, or do you think there will a few down seasons before they re-establish their dominance over the West?

Question 1- Thank you very much! And I do, I have a good player build with a good amount of TPE, I think I'll be able to slot in on the top 4, or top 6 pretty well!

Question 2- Deener, Smitty, Velevra, there's too many to list honestly. This team has a ton of great guys on it.

Question 3- I think so, I am not fussy about my team and I plan on being loyal to the team I'm on, Deener is a great GM and I think I'll be treated well here Smile

Question 4- I think it'll be more of a re-tool, Nike and I are 2, 1000 TPE players which is an automatic impact, Dooley is as well, so I think we'll absolutely be moving out of any rebuild talk quite quickly. If it is a rebuild I'm all aboard that train however Smile

I love playing GTA with you, my oldest friend on the site, even though you're a prick and blow up my car and kill me, and send mercenaries. At least I know I can wreck you at hand to hand combat in GTA Smile)

TALK ABOUT ME
I love playing GTA with you too Wink While Dylan's spending his time getting Axed in the head by me, you're spending your time chillin in a hole with a tractor! What's not to love :D We gotta play again soon :D

Extremely excited to have you apart of our legacy. And for our paths to cross!

Remember in S2 when we wanted to be drafted to the same team? I can't believe it took this many years.

Where do you feel you fit into the puzzle in Texas?

How do you feel about the new culture change Deener is trying to institute?

Where were you when you found out?

Question 1- Thank you very much kind sir! I am extremely excited to be on the Renegades!!! Even more excited to finally have our paths cross!!!

Question 2- That's a good question, I think I'll be an impact player for the Gades, be it on Offense or Defense, wherever the team needs me I'm glad to suit up.

Question 3- Deener has done a fantastic job of making the team less intimidating to someone not on the team prior. From our first interaction I felt like I was wanted on the Gades and that made me very excited. You've done an awesome job and imo are early choice for GMOTY

Question 4- I was actually trying to get some work done when I found out that I was being in negotiations. Directly after I spent far too much time making sigs as I was excited.... I still haven't gotten back to doing the work I skipped yesterday lol. I should probably do that!
Ooooh those sigs tho.

Also.

Do you think Ranjan is good enough for a cup win this season?
Also should I sign in Texas?

A 600 tpe goalie is good enough. TPE =/= success. If you're over 750

I found out yesterday, I got very excited about possibly joining Texas, I made the first sig posted here, then I made the one that I gave to Kinsler, then was told the trade likely wasn't going to happen, got sad, and changed the text to Kinsler, and as I hit submit was PMed told the trade was likely going to happen again, so made another sig Smile)

Good luck in Manhattan EMS, they will treat you right and you won't want to leave!
