<div align="center">The votes have been cast and the fans have spoken! In a huge upset rookie goaltender Timo Haas narowly beat out teammate Chris Crutchfield and SHL legend Friedrich Muller to be this years cover athlete. It came down the the wire and in the end Timo Haas ended up with 21 votes to Chris Crutchfields 20, and Friedrich Muller's 18.
In the first round of voting Timo Haas took out two S24 veterans in Randy Randleman and Patrikov Bure. Just like the finals it was a close vote with Haas recieving 20 votes to Randleman's 18 and Bure's 13. In this round of voting he beat out notable SHL superstars Kristian Erikkson and Big Manious while showing he was the favored goaltender by also receiving many more votes than Michael McFadden who was also in his pool for the first round of voting.
Timo Haas started his career in the SMJHL by being drafted 10th overall by the Vancouver Whalers in the S30 SMJHL draft. He shared starting duties in his rookie year and was able to start in 26 games, earning 11 wins while taking 10 losses. His rookie season wasn't anything spectacular as he only had a 0.888 save percentage, 2.95 goals against average, all while failing to get a single shutout, but his second season was Timo Haas' coming out party. Taking full hold of the starting job for the Vancouver Whalers, Haas started 44 games and posted 27 wins to just 15 losses while improving to an 0.895 save percentage, 2.55 goals against average, and an impressive 5 shutouts.
Timo Haas' Los Angeles Panthers career started in the S31 SHL entry draft. The Panthers selected Haas with the 6th pick in the draft and he quickly signed a 3 year contract with the team before being sent back down to the Vancouver Whalers for the S31 season. Timo Haas was eager and ready to be a part of the Panthers and was given the nod for the S32 season, it was his time to take the reigns as the Panthers goalie of the future. The season that followed was one of the best we have ever seen from a rookie goaltender. Haas started 44 games for the Panthers and earned an astounding 35 wins to just 7 losses with a ridiculous 0.912 save percentage and 2.44 goals against average coupled with 3 shutouts. Timo Haas was the backbone of the Los Angeles Panthers and backstopped them to the S32 Presidents Trophy while earning some personal hardware of his own. Timo Haas was awarded the Ryan Jesster award for rookie of the year and was named to the SHL All Rookie team. He also was noticed enough to earn an All-Star Honorable Mention onto his resume.
