Full Version: SHL Teams Youth Rankings
You're currently viewing a stripped down version of our content. View the full version with proper formatting.
The SHL has plenty of young and upcoming players, and is getting younger, and older every day. Not all the teams are young, and loads have brilliant futures. So I compiled all these teams futures, by viewing their youngest players, so players that were created from S28-Present, and ranked them based on that.

Note: All the players listed below are semi-active or active. I didn't, or tried not to include inactives in these lists

I also ranked these from worst (14) to best (1)

Edmonton Blizzards
Defense under S28:
Stuart Minkus (S33), Ryan Vas(S31)
Wingers under S28:
Centers under S28:
Goalies under S28:

They aren’t very young, or active and young here. Their only prospect and active player younger than S28 is Stuart Minkus and Ryan Vas… after that they don’t have much of a prospect pool or a future.

Calgary Dragons
Defense under S28:
Ryan Strathairn (S33), Hunkey Monkey (S28)
Wingers under S28: Sepp Reiter (S32), Joe Kurczewski (S31)
Centers under S28:
Goalies under S28:
Thaddeus Prince (S33). Richard C. Hocolate (S29)

The Dragons don’t have much youth on their roster or in their prospect pool. They have some wingers and some defenseman that will be around for awhile, and 2 goalies, both of which will likely have a bright future. Other then that… they don’t have much, and they may struggle in the future if they don’t improve that. After their players younger than S28, they have 2 players younger than S27, and after that quite a bit of players older than S24.

Texas Renegades
Defense under S28: Adam Kaiser (S31)
Wingers under S28: Zanarkand Abes (S33), Michael Burrows (S31), Conklin Owens (S30)
Centers under S28: Jonas Rasmussen (S33)
Goalies under S28: Georgette Pel (S31)

The Renegades have youth in every position...just not a lot of it. They do have a future star goaltender in Georgette Pel, and a a young future star center on Conklin Owens. They also have a great young defenseman in Alex Kaiser and a great player in Micheal Burrows

Manhattan Rage
Defense under S28:
Marc Leclerc (S31)
Wingers under S28: Crossfit Jesus (S33), Rurik Razin (S33), Ace Redding (S31), Harry Hans (S29)
Centers under S28: Nucky Toohoots (S29), Maximus Sarone (S29)
Goalies under S28: Jason Aittokallio (S31), Ekaterina Rudnikova (S31)

The Rage have a decent youth. They have a few good young wingers, 2 of which are on their root to being elite… the other 2 are questionable. Their centers are also going to become something decent for the Rage, and in net they have 2 goaltenders who can be elite goaltenders if they pan out right. On defense… they don’t have much over there.

Toronto North Stars
Defense under S28:
Jack Dodds (S33), Zander Rhys (S33), Otto Lahti (S33),
Wingers under S28: Chris York (S33), Olli Ojala (S33),
Centers under S28: Fletcher Carric (S33)
Goalies under S28: Jeff Kirkstone (S30)

The Toronto North Stars just filled up the cupboards after the draft, after drafting plenty of top players for each position, but goaltending. Which shouldn’t be a problem, since they do have a young Jeff Kirkstone in net already. But they lack depth, lots of lacking in depth for the future.

#9

Winnipeg Jets
Defense under S28: Issac-Comrie Hale (S33)
Wingers under S28: Corey Bears (S31), Zach (Cookie Cutter) Evans (S31), Vasily Horvat (S31)
Centers under S28: Alek Koivu (S32), Sami Free (S32), Jason Visser (S31),
Goalies under S28:

The Jets lack prospects in some areas, in others they thrive. They have a great defenseman in their pool, but she’s the only one there. They have a great future at center and on the wings, their future top 6 is pretty set. In net, there’s no one young but goalies can last forever, their starter is elite as of now, and was is no older than S27, which is still fairly young.

#8

Minnesota Chiefs
Defense under S28:
Eero Hamalainen (S33), Aaron Crawford (S33), Noctis Caelum (S32)
Wingers under S28: Lochlann O’Rourke (S33), Halfdan Thorstein (S33), Yuriy Starkanov (S33), Terrance Nova (S32)
Centers under S28: Samee Iqbal (S32), Derrick Glover (S32)
Goalies under S28:

Team has a brilliant future ahead of them, in the elite department. In each position, they have someone active and talented, most these positions they have multiple players who will be stars for the Chiefs in the future. Except goalie. They also lack active depth in most of these positions.

West kendall Platoon
Defense under S28:
Ty Justice (S30)
Wingers under S28: John Langabeer (S33), Leafer Rielly (S32), Pietra Volkova (S31), Alex Light (S31), Mikko Linna (S28)
Centers under S28: Asvard Lyszczarczyk (S33), Harper Wright (S33), Travis Jeziak (S31)
Goalies under S28: <s>Sebastian Thompson (S33)</s>

The Platoon have a good future in some positions, others not. They have one great defenseman in Ty Justice from their youth, but that's all.Their wings are stacked for the future, filled with great players. They also have a few great centers. And they have a great goaltender, who’s also Langabeers best friend in Sebastian Thomp… oh wait fucking New England. <a href='index.php?showuser=1765' rel='nofollow' alt='profile link' class='user-tagged mgroup-13'>Eggy216</a> you ruin everything.

Los Angeles Panthers
Defense under S28:
Alexsander Komorav (S31), Tord Yvel (S31), Matthew Leetch (S31), Victor Lidstrom (S30), Marc-Andre Malkin (S28)
Wingers under S28: Vinny Marino (S33), Sebastian Strange (S29), Felix Herzog (S29), Hans Moleman (S29)
Centers under S28: Jean-Luc Reflieux (S30)
Goalies under S28: Timo Haas (S31)

The Panthers have plenty of youth on their team. Their wings and defensive depth is very active and young, and their goaltender… he’s incredible. He just won the Jester. They lack some youth on center after Reflieux, but other then that they have a solid future core.

#5

Buffalo Stampede
Defense under S28: Charles Walker (S33), Tommy Salami (S33), Alexis Metzler (S31), Brynjar Tusk (S31), Theodore Graham (S30)
Wingers under S28: Dante Gallo (S33), Eduard Selich (S31), Nolan Angello (S30),
Centers under S28: Victor Vorkampfer (S33), Steven Stamkos Jr. (S30), Nicolas Winter (S29)
Goalies under S28: Patrick Diehl (S33), Casey Holmes (S29)

The Buffalo Stampede have a strong and active future in all positions… almost. They have a strong defensive future, a young and deep center core full of actives and 2 young goaltenders who have a bright future ahead of them as well. They do lack wingers, after having two elites like Selich and Angello, and one more very young prospect in Dante Gallo.

#4

New England Wolfpack
Defense under S28: Toivo Kosenen (S31), Cara Hohenberg (S31), Mia Landvik (S28)
Wingers under S28: Tim Elliot (S33), Michael Walker (S33), Jason Forbrook (S30), Dieter Dominique (S28), Bennett Jones (S28),
Centers under S28: Filip Granlund (S30), Jason Forbrook (S29), Mikael Talo (S29)
Goalies under S28: Sebastian Thompson (S33), Mikke Laukkanen (S28)

“New England are on the decline” is false. They have plenty of youth in all positions, and active youth to prove they can stay “elite” for years to come. They just need to handle that youth correctly and avoid getting fucked by the new contract rules… which seems bound to happen.

Also fuck off for splitting up Thompson and Langabeer you fucking bastards

#3

Seattle Riot
Defense under S28: Caelan Fearghal (S33), Viatcheslav Orlov (S30), Jackson Cartier (S28)
Wingers under S28: Zinaida Titova (S33), Matthew Rossi (S32), Vincent Garland (S32), Cory Knouse (S32), Trevor Wilson (S31)
Centers under S28: Teddy Kesler (S33), Frederick Boone (S31), Justs Sirmais (S30),
Goalies under S28: Michael McFadden (S28)

The Riot have great youth in all positions. Based on their active youth, they have an elite goalie already who is from S28, pretty young, and a young forward youth filled with active young players, and a great future defensively.

#2

Portland Admirals
Defense under S28:
Veli Kaalinpaa (S33), Max Weber (S32), Kelly Rivet (S30), Colin Banning (S30), Barack Obrana (S29)
Wingers under S28: Teemu Siruis (S33), Jacob Renninger (S31), Issac Kaiser (S31), Reed Laing (S31)
Centers Under S28: Teodors Curkurs (S32), Cikgnar Konstantinov (S31), Geronimo Otto (S31), Alex Reed (S31),
Goalies Under S28: Kyle Walghren (S31)

The Admirals have plenty of actives at each position… they have a great future at defense and center, and even in net! Their wings seem a bit depleted, but their a few centers on the team will likely be playing wing, so it shouldn’t be a problem for the Admirals. The only problem the Admirals may have in the coming future is their contracts. They likely won’t be able to fit everyone into the budget

Hamilton Steelhawks
Defense under S28: Ludwig Koch Schroder (S31), Kornel Kašpárek (S31), Danny “Bananas” Foster (S30), Ben Dover (S30)
Wingers under S28: Taemin Gede (S33), Kyle Kylard (S32), Luke Atmey (S32), Taro Eichele (S31), Brennan Kennedy (S31), Ieuan Llewellyn (S31), Alex Berkis (S29),
Centers under S28: Smirnov Light (S33), Sami Sirius (S33), Martin Svensson (S31), Ronnie Westbrook (S31), Jon Ross (S30)
Goalies under S28: Max Russakoff (S33), Stephen Harris (S31), Ben Waters (S31)

Hamilton probably have one of the brightest futures in the SHL… they just have to make sure it stays that way. They have a stacked future defensive core, which in fact is already their top 4, young and hungry, they have a great number of wingers who also will be amazing for the Steelhawks, quite a bit of active centers and 3 goalies, all of which will probably be starters in their SHL career.

Thanks for reading! Cheers

Non-issue as long as we're both still playing juniors anyways Cheers
