Simulation Hockey League

The Portland Admirals have recalled forwards Teodors Cukurs and Teemu Sirius from their SMJHL team, the Prince George Firebirds, assistant general manager and executive director of player personnel M.W. Hazard announced today.

Cukurs, 19, recorded 42 points in 50 games this season in Prince George, leading the team. In his three seasons with the Firebirds, the 6-foot-3, 230-pound forward has skated in 150 games, registering 68 assists and 103 points. He has been in the top 3 in Prince George scoring each season since joining the team.

Cukurs was originally drafted by the Admirals in the first round, 4th overall, in the S32 entry draft.

Sirius, 18, just finished his second season with the Firebirds, registering 12 goals and 30 points. While playing with Prince George, the Finnish winger has scored 21 goals in 100 games. Though he'll be the first to say his focus is not on playing a physical game, the 6-foot-2, 198-pound winger does not seem afraid to take the body when necessary.

Sirius was originally drafted by the Admirals in the first round, 6th overall, in the S33 entry draft.

Sirius and management have come to an agreement, even if no contract has been signed as of this moment.
