Words: 315With S35 drawing to a disappointing close for the Riot, the players and management will begin to look to the future. This has been evident as the new GM of the Riot has begun to start a yet another rebuild. The old guard has passed in quite a controversial manner with the shipping out of players like Brumm and Benson to bring in some younger talent. This has caused quite a raucous around the league due to the infamy of the man who orchestrated these changes. Some believe the c has done a good job, while many others believe that the Riot is now doomed to last placed finishes. This has caused some questions as to the efficiency and could affect the Riot during free agency and upcoming contract negotiations.
One such of these contracts is the expiring contract of the Riot’s star winger, Trevor Wilson. Wilson is just now starting to come into his prime after being brought up by the so called old guard of Seattle. Wilson was under the impression that he would be playing on a cup contender for the foreseeable future with the established first line led by Brumm. It is no mystery that Wilson really liked the direction the Riot was headed while Brumm was manning the wheel. Wilson considered himself one of the so called old guard, but he is now one of the few remnants of the pre-c era. Wilson has planned on completing his entire career in Seattle, but with these ties to the old guard and the impending seasons of failure, Wilson is questioning his loyalty.
With one season left on his contract Wilson has been analyzing his options over the past few weeks. He will not be commenting on his opinions of the direction that c plans to take the Riot, but he is looking forward to the expiration of his current contract.
