Setting:

A picturesq hockey rink buried deep within the underbelly of the Toronto underground. Inside the locker room, the camera pans in from upper right where we find Nour and Evok embroiled deeply in conversation.

“Right, now grip the shaft firmly. You don’t want it to wiggle too much.” Evok stated.

“Like this?” Nour asked, inquisitively?

“Perfect!” was Evok’s response.

Properly gripping the stick is a huge part of shooting accuracy and Evok was teaching Nour how to do just that. Evok checked over the first page of her notes, her heart rate was slowly rising and she clenched her jaw as…..

I’M KIDDING I’M KIDDING...that was getting fucking weird wasn’t it?

Now, onto the real story:

The start of a new SHL season:

Game 1: Hamilton Steelhawks vs Seattle Riot

Nour blinked in pure wonder as he stood in the locker room beside Evok. He was still so thankful and grateful toward Evok. He owed his captain a ton! Evok had saved his life and he promised and gave his captain his word that he wouldn’t chirp her in the locker room or joke to Steelhawks TV and to the fans about how much he “hated” her

Evok smiled at him. “It’s good to be back together Nour!”

“It is Evok. There’s no one I’d rather be standing next to before a game than you, buddy.”

“I’m just glad you are okay.”

“Yeah, coulda been a disaster, but no one takes the great Nour Harrak down that easily!”

“Right, whatever you say,” Evok laughed, giving her teammate a little shove.

“Did the police or FBI ever find Blue’s body?” the brown haired man inquired. Shockingly he disguised any and all worry. He was a strong man, but he had to know that everything was 100 percent okay.

“They did not. But they think he floated down the river. They did find parts of his clothes scattered about downstream, so there is reason to think that he is dead. You’ll be fine, Nour. Blues won’t get you again! Not with me here!”

“I’ll hold you to that, eh!”

“Yeah. Now let’s get on the ice!” Evok reached up and grabbed her helmet and put it on her head. Then she snatched her stick up and turned to face Nour. The blue eyed girl was staring at him. A fire burning in the depths, kindling by a newfound energy.

Nour was the only hockey player…..no, man….no, person, who could be kidnapped, tortured, experience a near death circumstance and spring back to life within a week. It was insane how strong this Mississauga-born native was! If Evok had been the one in his shoes, having been tied up, gagged and later locked in a wooden crate, she didn’t think she would have the strength to pop back into the normal swing of things. She would be absolutely and totally scarred. But that was only one thing on the list of shocking facts about the man known as Nour.

“Just because I was kidnapped and tortured by Blues over the end of the Summer break, doesn’t mean I’m going to take it easy on the Riot. I’m going to come out and undress Roman Augustus!” Nour stated.

“Uh…”

“Wait, let me rephrase that!”

“Yeah, buddy, you’d better rephrase that!”

“I’m going to humiliate Roman and his Seattle Riot in front of the Key Arena’s crowd by getting a sweet highlight reel goal!”

“I’ll keep you to that promise. If you don’t score it, I don’t know, I may just have Gooney’s back this season, eh?” Evok smirked, cleverly.

Nour snatched his stick and helmet off the locker shelf and cross-checked his friend. “Hey! Gooney’s the one who’s been eating and stealing my merchandise! He’s got an unhealthy obsession with those protein bars, man. If he isn’t careful, he’s going to gain weight and the coaches won’t be happy with him.”

“I’m on it, Nour. I’ll get him in check!”

“You better do it soon. Early today, he downed seven of ‘em!”

“SEVEN!!??”

“Yeah.”

“Holy crap! Okay, I’m going to go chat with him. Come on, let’s get to the ice!” the captain of the Steelhawks slapped his friend on the back and they made their way down the tunnel, toward the ice.

Nour found himself launching out of the tunnel and onto the fresh new ice. It felt so good to be back doing what he loved. And it felt especially good to be there with all of his friends and teammates at his side.

He happily flew around the edges of the rink, shouting a “woooo!” He passed by Evok, who laughed and reminded him not to go overboard and control his excitement.

Nour skidded to a halt back in front of his home tunnel. He grabbed his water bottle and started to lift it up to his mouth to take a sip, when it was knocked from his hands. Before he could spin around or react, a hand wrapped around his elbows gluing them to his sides. Another hand clamped over his mouth and he was yanked backward into the tunnel.

“Evok!” he tried to to scream, but his voice was muffled by the hand.

Panic took over him once more, as he struggled to pull free. He felt his skates being being dragging on the ice before getting pulled backward down the tunnel and into the locker room once more. It was empty and bare, as everyone else was back out on the ice. Nour was finally released and flung into his stall.

Instantly, upon hitting the locker’s flat bench seat, he snapped his head up and his eyes glittered with trepidation as he stared back into none other than...Blues’ cold, dead eyes. The villain’s hair was dripping wet like he had just crawled from the river above under the bridge he had jumped from.

Blues glowered, as he shot his arm out and grabbed Nour around the throat, lifting him up into the air. He glared at the Steelhawk, who squirmed helplessly in his grasp.

Suddenly, all of the confidence and excitement Nour had in him vanished at once. Nour was mortified and also a little bewildered. “Y.....yo......you...survived?!” he gasped breathlessly, has the grip on his neck grew tighter.

“That’s right, Nour my boy. Now, it’s time to finish the job I started!” Blues laughed as he lowered Nour down to the ground and let go of his throat.

Before the hockey player could scream for help or run, Blues chuckled sinisterly, throwing a burlap sack over the man. He pulled the end and dragged Nour off, out of the locker room and out of the Key Arena in Seattle. Nour kicked and screamed, but his efforts were wasted. He was soon hauled up and into a small space, which Nour could only think was the trunk of a small car.

It was the summer kidnapping event all over again. But this time, Blues wasn’t going to play any games! He meant business. And Evok had no idea about what had happened!

Will Nour be able to escape and learn about Blues’ plans?! Will Evok figure out what happened to Nour?! A third pressing question?!
