Ready for Grading

After another disappointing playoff exit, we've managed to catch up to Texas Renegade Rick James. James comes off of one of the best years statistically of his eight season SHL career. He also just signed a two year extension to remain a Renegade. Ending the season as a +8 , one might say the days of Rick being a defensive liability are in the past. Never a big producer, always more of a team first guy. Rick once again put up enough checks to finish inside the top 20 of the leagues big hitters all while playing around 125 minutes less than most of the big names. James puts in the work all season, along with his notorious night club life style. Many only see that side and claim that may very well be his downfall. We wanted to ask Rick about that very question and others. Please stay with us as we interview the charismatic enigma that is Rick James.

Rick, thanks for joining us today. We know there's limited opportunity for you as you head off to the World Championships. How would you describe this past season?
Well thank you for having me, the ole boy is always glad to do these things ya know ! This last season was crazy man. It was like a non stop party that went over two continents, many months and all the women you could think of hah hah ! We squeaked into the playoffs again, and again ended in bitter disappointment . But I'm ready to look ahead, big things for Rick James ! Drinks on me !

How did you finalize the new contract to stay with Texas?
Well to be honest, I wasn't quite sure I was going to stay. I had so many good offers this past offseason, but I had already made my mind up I was going to stay at least another year. Then right before the playoffs, I just hit up Durden and asked "what can we do?" , ya know. He came back with the numbers in a couple of hours. I got to thinkin about what all I've been through here, coming to a team that had a little turnover, playing minimal minutes to building my thriving businesses here and being a major role player for this franchise. I'm just glad they wanted me to hang around two more years !

What do you see ahead of you in the next two years?
I want a cup. A big shiny, mother fuckin cup. With all of our names on it. I don't know what I'll have to do to get it, but I'm ready to do it. I'm so tired of getting beat the way we've been taking it, I might fight a lot more next year, who knows. All I know is that its old and I ain't goin out like that, I'm Rick ?James bitch !

Rick, thanks for joining us today, that will conclude our interview but we are now opening the floor to questions from the rest of our counterparts.

Rick is now ready for any questions you may have, come one, come all !

Well I can't lie, the ole boy was thinking about retirement before this new deal came up. I was pretty down about this past season when it honestly ended up being the best if my career. So now I've got this new extension and I think I'm gonna stay here as long as they want me, or the whores run dry hah hah ! So yall have to deal with me for at least two more bitch !

Why is Rick James the best?
Do you think when JP is finally fired a real coach can get you to the all star game?

Rick James is the best in his element. When he can put on a show for the people, entertain the masses and treat the women! Hah hah! I don't know about any coach being able to get me to the all star game, hell I didn't even really know there was one. I don't think I'm the kind of player they want in one of those. Those end up being high rent pickup games. I like to hit and start shit you know? I don't think they'd appreciate my style in an all star game.
There's been rumblings from your camp about how much longer you think you've got left in the league before you take on a new venture... is there any truth to the rumor you may be contemplating retirement? If so, could you give us some insight into why and when you might pull the trigger?
