RE: S62 PT#6: Wrap-up - Gwdjohnson - 12-18-2021 I have enjoyed being part of the atlanta inferno team based in Atlanta Georgia and I am glad GMs glutes of gold @goldenglutes and dog of above average temperature @hotdog signed me here. There are very funny and cool people in the locker room and being in the ball of players channel has made me enjoy the server more. I am regressing a lot so who knows how close I am to retiring but I am enjoying my time here playing on a line with Michael With the Check @sakrosankt and I am looking forward to seeing how all the cool young players develop on the team. (104 words) RE: S62 PT#6: Wrap-up - LordBirdman - 12-18-2021 This is not an original or new thought, but I’m so sick of the same teams in the finals every season. It really is ruining the league and is a shit situation for 16 of the 20 teams in the league. Clearly FHM is the culprit and I am not going to pretend to understand what the correct solution is, but something clearly has to change. Whether it is limiting sliders, tactical choices, AI coaches, whatever it is I cannot definitively say, but something has to be done. It is good to know that HO is looking into the issue, but it is hard to have high hopes for a good resolution with how long this has clearly been an issue and how long it has not been addressed. RE: S62 PT#6: Wrap-up - BasedMinkus - 12-18-2021 This season went as about as well as any other of the Rage seasons have gone over the past 3 or 4. I know we are in tank mode but I hope to sometime soon see our team show some relevancy before my player gets old and decrepit. There are some great players in the system that we have which makes it exciting. On a personal front, I put up 30 points, 12 of the goals and led the Rage in blocked shots with 207. Impressive feats given how bad this team struggles to score on a nightly basis. Overall there is a lot of promise to look forward to and I hope that comes sooner rather than later while I am still a SHL capable player. 127 RE: S62 PT#6: Wrap-up - Whitecap - 12-18-2021 Prompt 2: I've got to say, I know there are a lot of complaints about where the league is going, and some of the decisions made recently. But I have been having a blast here, and I'm very much looking forward to continuing my career. I've only been here for a few months and I've already met so many wonderful people and the league has very much surpassed my expectations for it. I hope I can keep finding more ways to get involved so I can help keep this site being great. I'm grateful for my time so far in Regina, and I can't wait to see what next season looks like for us. We've got a fair bit of players hitting that 425 cap and I think we'll be in a pretty good spot. And then In LA, after watching that incredible playoff run this season, I'm super excited to one day get the call up and join the amazing group they have there. 163 words RE: S62 PT#6: Wrap-up - raymond3000 - 12-18-2021 Prompt 2 For the second consecutive season, the SHL's Challenge Cup Finals seeing the Texas Renegades squaring off against the Hamilton Steelhawks. Last year was a decidedly one sided contest, with Hamilton pulling off the sweep to cap off a dominant season. This years Renegades team are seeking revenge, and led by star players Burlok Sulforgold, Edward Williams and Cillian Kavanagh they have come back with a stronger team this season. They already dispatched of their rivals Chicago Syndicate in the second round who had posted arguable the best regular season in SHL history, and are now looking to dispatch of another SHL heavyweight in the finals. RE: S62 PT#6: Wrap-up - Kierkan - 12-18-2021 Prompt 2 Overall, the Calgary Dragons were pretty disappointed at their first round exit in the playoffs this year. Being up 3-1 in the series, and then leading the final game seven until the last twenty seconds was a real gut punch. Regardless of the TPE numbers, FHM randomness, or whatever, everyone had slightly higher expectations for ourselves. We're stronger than we've been in a long time, and we're only going to continue to get better. We have another fresh batch of rookies looking to make the move to the show, and we're all very excited to welcome our new baby dragons. We'll be back more determined next year, and I'm very excited to get started. RE: S62 PT#6: Wrap-up - zeagle1 - 12-18-2021 isfl pt RE: S62 PT#6: Wrap-up - Kylrad - 12-18-2021 Prompt 2 Wow a prompt to talk about whatever I want as long as it's shl related, sounds like media, so much freedom that i don't know what to do it, if i just spend the whole 100 words talking about the freedom of this shi pt does that count as shl related for this prompt. Theres a lot to vent and talk about but that would take way too long and i'm almost at 100 words anyways now. I guess i'll talk about Daniel Smeb's career which will be ending soon as he regresses to death, it was quite the career, it happened. RE: S62 PT#6: Wrap-up - gaby - 12-18-2021 Prompt 2 It's probably because it is now my second player but the SHL magic isn't there anymore for me. Such an amazing concept when I found about it on reddit but as time went on, that excitement kept on fainting away. You get to know more how things work and more often than not you're left with a bad taste. I thought after going inactive a new player could be fun and I gave the SHL a second go. The first season was nice as you go through 2 drafts which is still really fun but after that the experience only goes down unfortunately. I don't think I'm the only one feeling like that right now. RE: S62 PT#6: Wrap-up - wumaduce - 12-18-2021 Prompt 2 With championship week upon us, once again, I figured I would use this platform to write about the hell that is doing cw. This isn't a malicious post against slash or the pt team, as cw has been shit since before I got to this league 4 years ago. One of the worst parts about cw is that you have to write about the finals, or the playoffs. There's one of two shit parts to this - one, you have to write about the playoffs after you get knocked out of them. Or two - you have to write about Hamilton every single fucking season. I wish we'd bring in an option like the ISFL has, where we offer a full 16 TPE (or 12 tpe, then 4 for trivia since that's just a gimme) for a certain number of words written about the league in general. The league is enough of a chore as is, don't make us look up stats from the finals, or bullshit about why the fans are the mvp of the finals because word vomit. 800 words about the league, your experience, something, anything, league related. Picture it as an expansion of prompt 2 from the pt's. Just make it known if they we pick that as our prompt, we're not allowed to use affiliates for any tpe, or just in place of trivia. Or get rid of cw, but that won't happen. RE: S62 PT#6: Wrap-up - 5ympathies - 12-18-2021 Prompt 2: Only 100 words?? Jee whiz. Everyone says the shl is dying but idk if I believe it. Nobody applies for jobs anymore. GMs are always tonight to hire. The same good teams have the same good GMs. Nobody wants to be simmer. Kal was too good for us. The new simmers I have faith but what a brutal job. STHS summing was so easy compared to FHM. I don’t know, I still have faith in the shl but it’s clearly not the same one that I joined and that’s ok. Is it better? It’s hard to say. I guess all I can say is that it’s different but that doesn’t mean it’s bad. The drama however now days is not as good as it used to be. RE: S62 PT#6: Wrap-up - canes2112 - 12-18-2021 While the season just ended for the Panthers, I would consider it a huge success and am very proud to be a part of the team. Each member of the team is a pleasure to interact with in the locker room and it's only that much more exciting to know our best seasons are ahead of us. After failing to pass the first round for a few seasons, we broke through to the conference finals and played a very close series with Texas which could have gone either way. There is much to look forward to next season as the regression changes don't largely impact our team. RE: S62 PT#6: Wrap-up - GCool - 12-18-2021 I'm in a weird place with SHL right now. I'm not going to stop earning any time soon, and I wrote a script in R that spits out GCoolFactor rankings for the SMJHL seasons and possibly a draft recap for double media money. But with how the regression rules and the HO's response(s) to Hockey Talk Tonight have shaken out, I find myself barely being motivated to do an activity check. I've had a lot of players and I haven't had much success on either side, player or user. But on my best SHL team, acting like "myself" in that I'm a well-adjusted, much calmer adult -- I feel like it's me rejecting the SHL and not the SHL rejecting me. RE: S62 PT#6: Wrap-up - KC15 - 12-18-2021 PBE Affiliate PT (CW) RE: S62 PT#6: Wrap-up - r1c3bowl22 - 12-18-2021 Prompt 2: This season was interesting. We started off incredibly well, getting quite a few wins early. However, things started to unravel and we ended up near the bottom of the standings once again. We did mange to squeak into the playoffs which was awesome. In that series, we played pretty well and it even surprised me with how close it was after the first two games. Unfortunately, a long playoff run was not meant to be and we were eliminated. After that, we received news that one of our top forwards and our up-and-coming goalie would be leaving. It's quite sad, but we did get an eager young forward and a capped defenceman. So I'm curious to see what next season will be like. |
