I heard 7 years with a lower cap hit than you would think. Just a rumour obviously but if he's cheap enough that he could be dumped later on then I can sort of live with that.

This, all of this.
This trade makes little sense to me from a fan standpoint, sure Weber looks better on paper and hell might end up playing better than Subban does, but his numbers were gained playing in a very defensive system with other strong defensive players. That he won't have in Montreal.
Now Subban goes to a team that's a lot more defensively responsible and as you said, he will or should be allowed to do what he is good at.
Oh and calling this right now, Price walks when his contract is up.
