RE: S79 PT #4: Always On line - DETisHockeytown - 11-10-2024 Well . . . That worked. Last year on the top line was a trial by fire for me. Still putting up decent numbers, but a far cry from where my minds eye had me. So coming into training camp and finding my name all the way down on the third line was a bit of a shot to the ego. But being perennially selected in the 2nd round of drafts tends to lend a thick skin. Also lifting the spirits, knowing that our leadership in Quebec city has never been at a loss for "strategery" and tactics. Centering our new line fellow S78 draftee, Dejana Kaptina. Not just a "200 foot" player . . . a "200 by 85 foot" player. "Complete" doesn't begin to describe their game. Knowing how poisonous the defensive zone is to me, it's great to have a player like Dejana to rely on in our own zone. My wing partner, Gordon McFisherman. Playing a left wing lock that would make Scotty Bowman proud, Gordon pressured the opposition and created turnovers that fueled our high powered offense. Off the ice he kept true to his name and often whipped up a Black Cod with Miso or Salmon Wellington. Then there's me, usually cherry picking at the opposing blue line . . . I mean, when you have defensive wunderkinds like this on your line, you gotta give your coach an alternative way to add to the growing assortment of greys! As usual, the QCC brass' tactic paid off and each of us on this new line had career years and found ourselves scattered among the league leaders in multiple stats. With Dejana even leading the league in +/-! (Passing me on the last day . . . ) RE: S79 PT #4: Always On line - Stamkos Is My Dad - 11-10-2024 #1 When joining the Anchorage Armada it took some time to get used to the new linemates for Zeus. He started out on a line with scrubs but after complaining to management he was put up on the first line next to Hughes Incorporated and Elaina Beneski. The chemistry took some time to build but once the management got their heads out of the butts and also put Zeus on the first power play unit the offense for the Armada took off on their way to a 5th place finish. Storm led this line and pushed them to greatness as these three led the team in points with 87, 74, and 73 respectively. Now they head into the playoffs clicking on all cylinders as they had a huge late season push with heavy offensive output to close it out. This team is nowhere near a favorite to win the cup this season but with the way these three are clicking they certainly have a shot. These three never hangout outside of the hockey rink but it simply doesn't matter. Chemistry has been achieved. 182 words RE: S79 PT #4: Always On line - gurbs - 11-10-2024 P1: Hockey's the ultimate team sport, no doubt about it. Who I’m out there with can make a bigger difference than just my own skills. My linemates, my defensive partner—these guys are like extensions of myself on the ice. When we’ve been playing together for a while, it’s like we just know where each other will be without even looking. You get into this rhythm, this flow, and it’s powerful. In practice, we’re pushing each other all the time. If I’m off, they’ll call me out, and I’ll do the same for them. It’s about making each other better every single day. And yeah, sometimes we hang out off the ice, grabbing some food, talking about the game, or just goofing around. Those moments build trust, you know? If we’re newer as a line, it might be more professional, more focused on figuring out each other's style, but we’ll get there. It’s all about building that chemistry, so when we’re in the game, we’re moving as one. RE: S79 PT #4: Always On line - Z-Whiz - 11-10-2024 Option #2: Puddles O’Duckling learned pretty early on from his father and famous (arguably greatest) defender, Puddles O’Duck, that social media is a very dangerous place. However, it can also be a very lucrative place for sponsorships if you build your brand as well as a great place to gain fans for life. O’Duckling has all the social media apps, but he ignores all the comments. Recently, he hired a team to help manage the accounts. He wants to hear from the good fans and hear there stories, or fulfill their dreams, but sifting through the garbage is too much. He trusts his team to bring him the right stuff and so far he’s still been able to maintain a good relationship with his fans while missing out on all the trash. I would highly recommend this approach because you do miss out on so much if you aren’t on social media, but you can also get into some deep dark holes if you start responding to the lifeless trolls. He’s a shot blocking machine normally and was one of the better defensive players in his class coming up out of juniors. And we’ve pretty much been lineys since the day that he stepped foot on the ice as a professional. Smokes and Roze are basically attached at the hip on and off the ice. The two bash brothers can often be found around town in what you might characterize as a bit of a bromance. They hit the local restaurants together and stick out like sore thumbs. Both being bigger and larger than life characters as professional hockey players in a city that appreciates some great puck. Its great to have a teammate like Roze in the locker room and as a guy that you can count on when out on the ice together. I suspect that Smokes and Roze are going to be career long D partners and its the perfect match for both guys. RE: S79 PT #4: Always On line - Ruggsy - 11-10-2024 prompt 2 Hockey Player is constantly checking social media and making sure that the narrative is moving in a positive direction. Using multiple fake reddit accounts to stage fake arguments on different hockey subreddits, Hockey Player has positioned themselves very favorably on the website. Since hockey reddit is known to only contain the smartest hockey fans, this has worked out very well for Hockey Player in the way of getting more sponsorships. It also helps balance out hockey players frequent promotion of sports betting and really and facet of gambling there is. Ideally hockey players goal is to work to buy reddit out, so that we can move the world to a place where karma is treated as money on a one to one scale. Where people will be putting their money where there mouth is when it comes to posting funny links. Of course this will also contain a portion of the site where you can gamble reddit karma. Giving you the chance to not only become famous because of your richness, but also because of your funny memes RE: S79 PT #4: Always On line - Amidships - 11-10-2024 Edouard Lavoie avoids social media at all costs. The only time he reluctantly interacts with it is when he needs to promote his philanthropic activities or promote team events trying to get the fans out and more involved with the team. It is extremely rare for Edouard to read what anyone on social media is writing about him or his team, let alone what professional journalists write. The only time he is even willing to interact with journalists on the record is when it is required by his contract or is directly asked to participate to promote team functions. Edouard does not find reading things people post for engagement worth his time, and simply focuses on improving himself and getting better as a teammate to accomplish his ultimate goal of winning a cup. He does not maintain any active social media accounts and has an agency manage his promotional posts for him so that he has to interact with it as little as possible. RE: S79 PT #4: Always On line - Huck24 - 11-10-2024 Written Option 2 Lyle Odelein IV is a pretty humble person. He isn't overly flashy and has never wanted to be the center of attention. When it comes to social media, he is pretty much has the same mentality as he does in real life. You won't see many social media posts from Lyle, maybe the odd one giving shout outs to his teammates, the Specters franchise, the Specters fans and the city itself. This is one thing that he and his father, Lyle Odelein III, have in common. The elder Odelein always put his team, the same New Orleans Specters, first. He would always give credit to his teammates and coaching staff before taking any praise himself. When it came to social media, Lyle Odelein III was not very active at all. The younger Lyle at least is somewhat active when it comes to posting, but again, it is usually to bring attention to anyone but himself. He figures he should be spending most of his time trying to be the best player and teammate he can be. As the pair have been playing together since childhood, they know each other's movements even before those movements are made and as such can react very quickly to each other's play or help each other out in a tight situation. Just as they did in Québec, they rely on each other a lot in Calgary as well. Which of course can be both a blessing and a curse at the same time. Sonja had to deal with a lot of criticism. She saw fans call her a "twin merchant" due to her reliance on her twin sister Frøya. True that sometimes she thinks she is under-appreciated and it can drag her mental state down sometimes but in all honesty it just gives her more reason to work harder and show to the world why she is the best and that she is in fact not being carried by Frøya. Whenever it’s on the ice, outside the rink, with the team, or without all the players. Hockey is like a family. Players need to socialize to get a good chemistry. Volta fells that way. Even if he got traded a lot during the juniors, he was very much really appreciative with all the players who played with him during his career. He spends a lot of time with the players, even the rookies to get a good chemistry with them and get some good relationships afterwards. Volta helps a lot the team with helping the others to get better in hockey. Especially the goalies (when I talk about that in the last mPT Article). In general, he is very well respected by the hockey community because not of his whole performances, but his relationships with his teammates and the fans. We can also say the same with JURT because Volta and JURT got traded 2 times to go with 3 different teams during their careers, so getting a good chemistry is important. RE: S79 PT #4: Always On line - Waters - 11-10-2024 Grindle is very aware of what’s being said about him online. Almost TOO aware. Thankfully, he follows it with a mixture of amusement and nonchalance, because these peons mean nothing to him. It's entertaining to him. it's a joke it's a comedy joke to him. Most of the buzz around him is positive, as fans love his confident, edgy style and bold personality, but he also has his fair share of critics who are stupid and dont know anything. Grindle finds haters quite humorous and doesn’t mind responding to the more ridiculous comments with his best comebacks. Occasionally, he’ll even start conversations himself, posting cryptic, edgy tweets or sharing photos with mysterious captions to keep fans and media guessing, just for fun. He knows how to keep himself in the spotlight without taking it too seriously, making his social media presence unpredictable and make it have W aura. It's all part of his mysterious personality that fans are in love with. RE: S79 PT #4: Always On line - ThePyroAlpaca - 11-10-2024 Graphic Option 2: Social Media post |
