- Frank - 12-14-2015 SHL having trouble grasping the sticks and stones concept. - Frank - 12-14-2015 So on the SHL you can get a posting ban for saying something that would pass on Comedy Central? I find this offensive. - JumpierPegasus - 12-14-2015 I suggest we take the week posting ban to gorlab away and add it onto 701's suspension because gorlab contributes funny, albeit repetitive chirps, while 701 contributes nothing of the sort - JackCross - 12-14-2015 Quote:Originally posted by Leo Senpai@Dec 14 2015, 12:09 AM Not shooting down your perspective, but offering a different point of view: If I run a business, and word of mouth is a part of how that business functions/thrives, if I have an asshole who comes in and makes the same complaint about how my business functions, fine. The owness is on them to not come back, or for my business to change. If that same asshole keeps coming back, ordering the same thing, and being a loud obnoxious asshole to my customers, he loses his rights to come back; he has become a threat to my business. Not because at his core he's an asshole, but because he's driving my business away. It becomes a calculated risk: lose one patron and anyone he's influenced vs keep that patron around and deal with losing the business of the people he drives away. - Frank - 12-14-2015 Quote:Originally posted by JackCross@Dec 13 2015, 11:39 PM ![]() ![]() ![]() I guess we know where all that donation money goes now... ; ![]() - JackCross - 12-14-2015 Quote:Originally posted by Frank@Dec 14 2015, 03:40 AM Where did I lose you? Core concept? Idea of a metaphor? It can be broken down into 'hard to choke on' parts if you're having a tough time following. - Frank - 12-14-2015 Quote:Originally posted by JackCross@Dec 13 2015, 11:42 PM If people get offended by what gorlab says they shouldn't be on the internet. Also your metaphor sucks. - JackCross - 12-14-2015 Quote:Originally posted by Frank@Dec 14 2015, 03:43 AM No. My metaphor offers a different perspective that is geared towards the notion of trying to create a broad community, against catering to people with specific needs and ideas of what 'freedom of speech' means. As the person who takes the most heat from Gorlab, I agree, the drive to be PC is hellish sometimes, he's an Internet Troll; deal with him and move on. It's not hard and kinda fun from time to time. However if it comes down to him vs the community, the community will bet on itself every time. - JHS - 12-14-2015 I think everyone in this league needs to watch the new season of South Park then decide - JackCross - 12-14-2015 Quote:Originally posted by JHS@Dec 14 2015, 03:49 AM Completely agree. - Frank - 12-14-2015 Quote:Originally posted by JackCross@Dec 13 2015, 11:47 PM :-? Because it's clearly him vs the community and not those who wet their pants when something "mean" is said to them? - TheNextGreatOne - 12-14-2015 Quote:Originally posted by JHS@Dec 14 2015, 02:49 AMBut what if I'm a yelper in my safe space? - stud - 12-14-2015 i feel so bad that there's more attention to gorlab than me and im the way better troll - JackCross - 12-14-2015 Quote:Originally posted by Frank@Dec 14 2015, 03:50 AM When it's me vs Gorlab, it's a one on one, and nothing in those battles has ever resulted in a suspension. However, sometimes he swings for the fences and it does become him vs a lot of the active members on the site. Lines get easily crossed, be it from him wildly attacking, or people brigading against him. - JumpierPegasus - 12-14-2015 Quote:Originally posted by JHS@Dec 13 2015, 11:49 PMyo I'm PC Ohio State |
