prompt 2

Let's rewind to season 57, defending champions Hamilton Steelhawks just had one of the best seasons in history and were looking to repeat. They started the season with, this is not a typo, a 25 game winning streak and became the first team to record 110+ points in the regular season. All seemed great. They made quick work of Atlanta and Winnipeg to reach the challenge cup final and at that point everyone expected a repeat. The finals started with a decisive win by Hamilton in game 1, but then everything fell apart. Chicago won 4 straight and Hamilton's repeat bid fell short. So where did it all go wrong and why am I talking about this in a PT about locker rooms? Well, that series against Chicago exposed some of the internal issues in Hamilton. LR issues. Players were divided and hated each other. They played well due to their talent but never faced any adversity until the finals. How did it get so bad? I'm not going to reveal his name but there was one person who was just straight-up toxic. Not to mention that he was racist. GMs realized they had a real problem and promptly addressed it by trading said person. Hamilton won the cup again the next season and it was not a coincidence.

The Nevada Battleborn owners went all out for the new locker rooms. There are now casino tables in the locker room (fully staffed 24/7) so the players can play Blackjack, Poker, Roulette, even Slot Machines without having to use the peasantry tables that fans use in the stadium. Lockers seats are now covered with satin silk, with silk drapes to match. And enough space to hold most player’s massive shoe collections.  They’ve also drilled way deep into the Earth to harness geothermal energy to create a natural hot springs in the training room to help sooth the sore muscles after the game. The final addition was a Gaming Room sponsored by CashApp. It includes 25 decked out gaming rigs, with of course RGB lights cause it makes you a better gamer. As well as a fridge always stocked with Gamer Fuel. So now the players can practice team building skills in high intensity online multiplayer action together. [/font]

The Barracuda Locker room is a happening place and ill let you figure out which prompt I'm writing about. And absolutely it should be any player's right to mix and match prompts just as one ought to be able to write about anything SHL related. These are the words etched into the back of the locker room bathroom stall, their meaning undecipherable to the layman. The playman, if you would, referring to the players. The bathrooms are where the resistance thrives, a culture of non-loyalty against Tom Fiddler, the captain who rules with an iron fist. His throne is the coaches office, sitting above the rest, for indeed the coach's office is up a flight of stairs with broad windows peering into the locker room below, like the floor manager of a factory that makes fuckin' wins. For indeed the locker room is a factory, and Tom Fiddler it's foreman. The product is wins and baby business is good. While others dream of revolution, most pray for the day that Tom Fiddler's old decrepit legs crumble to dust when he laces up the skates. But it is not this day. Not this season. The resistance lives on another, as does Tom Fiddler. And when he finally does leave, the resistance will too crumble, for it is but a reflection of the tyrant. It's existence is predicated on Fiddler's presence, and has no other purpose beyond it.

PROMPT 2

I think there is a lot that I can talk about the Newfoundland locker room with its multitude of colorful characters, memers and all around amazing personalities that keep it fun for me everyday. However I feel the need to give some love to the Chicago Syndicate folks given how SHL locker rooms are naturally a different experience than a Junior one. For one, being able to meet people that I did not share a junior experience in with people like @lespoils, @Matteo, @Naosu @sköldpaddor and others has given me a new shade of enjoyment with the SHL. A weird sense of coming from different places to be a team together despite the fact that technically we're still all part of the same sim league in the end. I don't know how many other teams have multiple junior GMs but the fact that we've had quite a few with representatives from Newfoundland, Nevada, Kelowna and previously Anaheim makes me excited for when we eventually actually have to draft players.

I’m picking prompt one to write about for this PT.

The Calgary Dragons locker room was already pretty advanced, but with this new revamp it will be even better. Every player has more personal space and one extra locker for fresh food and drinks. The bathroom has also been modified with extra hot tubs and extra high water pressure showers. There’s also a new and improved swimming pool now added to the wellness part of the locker room.

I’m replacing the juice bar @Mike Izzy added in the previous revamp with a bar with 25 taps of fresh craft beer from local and international breweries. The latest IPAs and stouts will be poured in the locker room. In the kitchen the chef is continuously creating the best chicken parm for our players. There’s also a special part in the kitchen for @BarnabasCollins to bake the most heavenly cakes.

Since Konstantin Selich was asked to create a new locker room area for the Quebec City Citadelles he thought long and hard about what he should put in there. In the end he decided to include a fresh poutine stand in there which is something every person should try at least once when they are in Quebec. The important part was that the poutine would only be made on demand after a quick request from the players and staff. Another thing Konstantin wants to implement in the new locker room is a small area where players can completely shut off all their senses in a dark room to cool down and chill. A small sushi bar that also only prepares dishes on demand would be another feature that the players should be able to enjoy according to Konstantin. Last but not least the german national thinks that a wooden holder should be placed somewhere in the locker room which has a few authentic german pretzels on it so the players could enjoy a quick snack rich in carbs.

RE: S61 PT#3: Locker Rooms - DrunkenTeddy - 09-12-2021

If I'm designing a locker room I'd probably start with the functional requirements, like a good space for each player to get ready and store equipment, the logo on the floor, you know, the usual stuff. Once I've got all that I'd probably add a section for relaxing or taking your mind off the game. Sometimes just getting away from it for a bit is all you need to refocus. So I'd have a hot tub, a sauna, and some massage therapists in one section, then maybe a small arcade in another. Having air hockey, Foosball, pinball machines, some racing games and some fighting games could give the players a chance to take their mind off the game and might lead to some players enjoying the games together and becoming closer because of it. Hopefully it wouldn't be too much of a distraction but I do think overall it would help them.

Prompt 2

Being a GM of a team means you have a unique relationship with the locker room and with the community it contains. Both on the J side and on the SHL side it's critical that you bring in people that will be good fits for your existing group of people and not just who you think will produce the best player. Each locker room culture is unique and the best ones come from the organizations going the extra mile to find new users that will both fit in well with the existing group and feel comfortable both in the short and long term. That security provided to new users is something we have highly valued in Carolina for a long time and is a big reason why we regularly develop first gens from all over the draft board into players that produce in the SHL level or at the J cap.

the hamilton steelhawks locker room is a very interesting place to be in. while i am not as involved and active as other members of the league, i do like to talk about investments and the stock market in the hamilton steelhawks locker room. people like aaron wilson and theo morgan and others like to talk about their latest investments in the world of finance and it is fun to be able to pick each other's minds to figure out how we are going to lose money next. additionally, the locker room does a good job of keeping people up to date on their latest stats. rotticus scott provides screenshots of the box score for every single game, and he also occasionally will give interesting tid bits on statistical milestones achieved by each player. for example, michael scarn recorded his 550th career point in FHM this week, and rotticus scott let me know.

I am writing Prompt 2, about my team locker room.

I have been in the same locker rooms for most of my SHL career. Drafted to Saint Louis back in S44. After 3 seasons and 3 cups, I moved up to my SHL team, the Winnipeg Jets. In that time, I joined and started to run Team USA. Those have been my 3 locker rooms up until S61. This season, I was traded from Winnipeg to New Orleans and joined my first new locker room in about 15 seasons. However, it was like coming full circle because that New Orleans locker room looked a lot like my old locker rooms in Saint Louis and USA. All of my championships, be it Four Star Cups or IIHF gold, have been won with the same players that I am now reunited with. I thought that I would spend my whole career in Winnipeg, but this is one of the few situations I could see being just as fitting for Slip McScruff.

RE: S61 PT#3: Locker Rooms - crutch - 09-12-2021

The Buffalo Stampede locker room is a great place to be. There are a lot of fun things to do in there, like flame WBF, talk to my IRL friend Soph, and flame WBF. It does give me a real big vibe like one that was similar to the old Los Angeles Panthers locker room, with familiar faces like WBF and Ragnar from that team with me. Some other fun things to do in the Stampede locker room include talking shit to Lee and sharing stories about bein drunk as hell and laughing at one another's funny jokes. Additionally, we have a great boxscore thing which I'm sure is exclusive to the Stampede and no other team in the SHL that has the boxscore from every SHL game which is super cool because I don't like opening up the YouTube or Twitch stream to see the results of the game, so bless up.

PROMPT 2: Write about your team LR. It can be in character, talking about your teammates, or a funny story that happened between them. It can also just be about your discord LR and the users in there. Whatever comes to mind, whether it's talking about how much you like them, or how goofy they are, just keep it nice. Funny moments or nice memories can be shared in this prompt, the choice is yours.

We got a pretty chill and laid-back LR here in Philly. Funny story one time, a guy sends a fake Nitro link which leads to Never Gonna Give You Up song on YouTube. I said it was fake, and then 5 minutes later the guy pastes the link again, and I say that it is also a rickroll. Turned out it was an actual 1 year Nitro link and someone got it. My favorite channel in our LR has to be the #FurryFriends channel, Stella makes occasional appearances in the channel, but honestly, I just love seeing everybody's pets. Honestly for an expansion team, we have a pretty active LR, there is someone around most of the time.

Prompt 1:  That last PT really put a twist on things. In response to the various new challenges that accompany the many virtues of the magic pills, our arena has had additinal installations throughout for the visually impaired, extra child size and height toilets and urinals, not to mention that the player’s bench for the home team has been redesigned so that separate toilet seats with automatic washing and drying of our players’ bums have been integrated. In addition, the team’s uniforms trousers have been redesigned to allow them to quickly yet discretely open the backside to allow them to deal with the repercussions of choosing those certain color pills from the shady dealer. Also, the plumbing of said augmented home team bench has been routed to run along the inside of the boards through the visiting team’s bench area and the pipes are made of extra high quality transparent material. The contractor also may or may not have run out of sealings for the tube connections during the installation of that specific stretch of plumbing, as it seems somewhat leaky and smelly around that area. The contractor has been made aware of this shortcoming and has promised to look into it at their own convenience :D

RE: S61 PT#3: Locker Rooms - Leppish - 09-12-2021

The Atlanta Inferno team locker room is a very fun place to be in, from the constant banter between everyone, to the never ending jokes and memes it's just a blast, also blast is in the locker room so it makes sense :blasttfw:. A lot of the people on Atlanta have great pets, dogs, cats and i think someone has a snake or a bird. Not quite sure. But everyone enjoys when pet pics are shown around the locker room. We also have a lot of drinkers in there. So it's always fun to have drunk chats with people or listen to their drunken adventures told later on. We also have some movie, TV fans including myself, so it's always fun to chat about movies we liked and so on. Video games are not as big in Atlanta as most places but we do talk about them occasionally, a lot of folks there play different stuff but such is life. Never a boring day in the Atlanta LR.

RE: S61 PT#3: Locker Rooms - Cyanide - 09-12-2021

With the New England Locker Room being completely trashed with shit, Balzams took to redesigning it. First a private Dunkin Donuts would be placed inside for the teams coffee and donut needs, along with a freshly stocked bar for when the team trashed their opponents. A mass hot tub would be in the corner for rest and relaxation, along with a small area for the new team puppies to play and relax while the team was skating. The room dedicated to their old teammate Andrei "Clean" Kostitsyn filled with the immortal hockey players face would rebuilt as it was before. The Taco Bell that caused this disaster was also banned from consumption. Finally, and probably most importantly, the bloody toilets and drainage pipes would be replaced and refitted, as lord knows after such a disaster can never take place again, or else the Wolfpack might lose their minds over another go around with the smell.
