RE: S80 PT #2: The Game Before Christmas - bbjygm - 12-30-2024

The players were nestled all snug on their bench;
While visions of Challenge Cups distract from their stench;
And coach in his box, and I with my Bran,
Had just settled our brains for a more long-term plan.
When out on the ice there arose such a clatter,
I sprang to my shift to see what was the matter.
Away to the D zone I flew like a flash,
Tore open the offense in a flurry, a clash.
The center on the breast of the Texas goal crease,
Gave a pitiful flick to the goalie's leg piece.
When what to my wondering eyes did appear,
But a breakaway chance past their wide-open rear.
More rapid than eagles our offense they came,
And I whistled, and shouted, and called them by name:
"Hodor, Hodor! hodor, Hodor! hodor Hodor hodor Hodor!
Hodor, Hodor! hodor, Hodor! hodor, Hodor hodor Hodor!"
As snow that before the wild hockey stop spray,
When they meet with a player, in their eyes it does stay;
So up to the goalie the players they flew
With the hopes of the team, and a hockey puck, too--
And then, in a twinkling, I heard from the horn
The blasting and wailing of the goals that it warns.
As I lifted my head, and was watching the screen,
In the net, the puck entering forth could be seen.
We sprang to our teammates, giving hugs and great cheers,
And cowboy hats filled the rink much like foam on a beer.
But I heard coach exclaim, ere the tiebreak was broke,
"Happy Christmas to all, our opponents can choke!"

Option 2: Zedward is pumped to help plan (and ultimately will be the host of) the Christmas party. Zedward is a big fan of board games - the classics such as Catan, Clue, Yahtzee - as well as some awesome modern games like King of Tokyo and Wingspan. But Zedward also knows (unfortunately) not everyone loves board games, so Zedward set up a Nintendo switch as well as a couple casino games to make sure there's good variety. As for the food, Zedward makes his iconic pigs in a blanket, and buys as many chips and dip and salsa as he can put in his car. Zedward isn't a fan of soda, so he buys mostly alcoholic drinks, which he is a fan of. the party is a pretty big hit. Some players felt the board games were lame, but almost everyone loves it and especially enjoyed Clue. The music playlist was particularly curated to make sure everyone had some of their favorite songs on it for a crowd pleaser.

Option 2
Elaina Beneski knows what everyone wants to eat at a Christmas party: they want a big salad. We've all had one before. It's a salad with meat, maybe some hard boiled eggs cut up into small pieces, lots of chunks of vegetables and of course lettuce. You might consider adding some spinach, or even arugula, if your want to spice it up a bit. You've got tons of options for dressing: the classic Caesar, a Balsamic, French dressing, or you can go minimalist with just plain olive oil (I wouldn't unless you've got some really flavorful meats in there).

I'd divide it into several extra large bowls and put them around the party room. Naturally, you'll want some tongs at each bowl.

You put out some bowls for your attendees, they can go around the room and scoop some up, sit down and eat, come back and refill as they like.

Written Option #2: I think everyone knows what kind of drink Cal Juice is bringing to the Christmas party, juice of course. Different flavors for everyone to try and enjoy! Apple, grape, cherry, orange, a mix of some of them. If you can't pick one of these then there's no hope for you. Alongside that he has a huge array of treats ready. It starts with chocolate chip cookies and truffles for dessert. For actual food there's a giant charcuterie board with meats, cheeses, pickles, nuts, dried fruit, honey, three different jams, peppers, veggies and crackers.

Finally there is a gift exchange, this year he had everyone partake in a secret santa. $50 mac and if you spent more than that and are found out you have to leave the party. Sorry, those are the rules so don't overspend!

Finally to end the night we'll be watching A Christmas Story, a tale that mist can enjoy (but honestly there are some mega cringe moments).

Three versus three overtime is where Journey Man really gets to shine. Despite his expertise as a two-way defenseman, Journey generally takes a more defense-first approach in his game, flipping that old adage into "the best offense is a good defense". While his solid defensive game definitely helps his team, Man's efforts at an honest, hardworking defense game often result in him going unnoticed on the stat sheet. But that all changes in overtime. With more open ice and a man-on-man play scheme, Journey is able to show off some stick handling moves, open ice skating, and set up some plays to bring home the win. Defense isn't totally out of the window, as you'll still see Journey give up his body to block a shot or take away the passing lane. Journey still might not end up with his name as a star of the game, even with overtime, but you can expect to see the absolute best out of him in extra time...as long as it doesn't go to a shootout.

Written Option 2:

At a christmas party, you always need to have some boardgames to play! Some include the game of life, so clover!, trouble, scrabble and others. For a party, you always need to have snacks or else the guests will be quite unhappy. So my player would bring things like chips, pop, some punch (non alcoholic of course) festive cookies (and regular cookies), oreos, gingerbread men, and just typical snacks for when you have people over. The party overall will go quite well, I don't think that any one on the team will go insane and just ruin the party, since there will be no alcohol so everyone should be in their right of mind. There is just a few jokesters on the team who will try to be jokers but thats about it. I expect it to be a nice and chill night with the lads just celebrating the holidays.

Oh boy Christmas part planning is my players specialty, they love planning events so they take this head on, first let’s go with food. It’s a room of athletes so what better meal than a nice slab of meat and some potatoes on the side. All meat is going to be served medium rare unless requested otherwise. Also gonna be a bunch of spaghetti and meatballs because I just really like spaghetti. As for drinks we will definitely be having a couple kegs and an open bar of course. And the other thing this party needs are prizes, we cannot forget about prizes, to enter to win some of them all you have to do it show up, but you can get more entries to win prizes by participating and also winning some of the random games that are set up. Prizes will range from electronics to food to other random things.

With my player being in charge of the yearly team Christmas party, this is a tough task but he is the perfect player to do this. First of all there will be lots of food at this team party because every player on the team loves to eat and try new types of foods. One of the biggest team bonding on the team is that they try to try a new restaurant in every city that they play in. So, at the party there will be food from different cities and countries, such as pizza, which has different styles like Chicago, Detroit, New York, etc. For drinks, there will be an open bar with a bartender who can make any kind of drink that any one would like. Ranging from simple mock tails to intense cocktails, players will be able to enjoy themselves if they choose to drink or not to drink.

Lyle Odelein IV is a big fan of the holiday season.  He likes the music, the gift giving and even the ugly sweaters.  When the holday season comes around to the Specters, Lyle is the first one leading the charge.  He is at every holiday event the the Specters put on, he is part of every fundraiser, he does everything he can to help spread the holiday cheer.  So, when he was asked to help plan the Specters team Christmas party, he took it very seriously.  He has spent hours upon hours making the perfect playlist.  He has arranged the secret Santa gift exchange to a level that has never been seen.  He has been learning how to bake, just for this occasion, even though he has been told multiple time that this is a catered event, and that baked goods are not needed.  He personally interviewed 17 potential Santa's to work the event, and since he really only thought one was worthy, he has named himself as a alternate.  So, if you happen to be in the area durinng the Specters Christmas party, keep an ear out for some bad ass Christmas music and much merriment!  Merry Christmas everyone!

For the Quebec City Citadelles holiday party, we're definitely getting Denny's to cater, as it's a longtime tradition of the team to go there when a goalie gets a shutout. It's also a good opportunity for the theme of the party to be maple, as we can put maple syrup on the pancakes, make maple cookies, and maybe make some maple hot toddys if people are feeling it. We can also do a gift exchange, but where each gift is themed after one of our rivals in the SMJHL, for example a poker night for Nevada, an axe throwing outing for the Berserkers, or a toy boat for the Armada. To end the night, we'll draw names out of a raffle, where the winner gets to design a new ice surface for the team going into the new year. It's shaping up to be a fun holiday party where everyone can have a good time.

Option 2:

Leo and Ho-Lee Smokes got out in charge of planning the Christmas party for Chicago this year, and it did not go well. The first issue is that they both procrastinated until the day before to actually do any planning, so when Christmas Eve was here they had to do all the shopping, and were stuck at a Christmas Store for 6 hours, once they bought the Christmas things it was time to think about food and drinks, Leo bought some soda water and beers for the team while Ho-Lee was in charge of cooking the food. After about an hour of Ho-Lee cooking Leo could smell something burning and saw smoke coming from the kitchen, apparently Ho-Lee Smokes live up to his name. Eventually they’d put out the fire and retry their Christmas dinner, this time it coming out much better. The party would be good, except their was this faint smell of burnt that Leo and Ho-Lee refused to admit was there

Option 2

It’s always the same Christmas party in Baltimore. The Liebolds have their annual ugly sweater contest. Valieva spiked the punch with vodka, and Bergmark puts All I Want for Christmas on repeat. Bryzi baked some mini quiches, and mini sausages, and mini something else, and the party animal, Ray Alexander, stayed 7 hours straight on the improvised dance floor (part of M’Baku living room). Nostradamus is not much of a dancer and prefers to talk, half-drunk, about crypto and how the recent election was rigged by the Canadians. Newcomers like John Hopoate, Evil Kyle Murray and Journey Man brought too much food to the potluck and tried to be polite when they tasted Peter Tingle’s surprise Christmas pudding. Beau Kavanagh and Bellamy Blake played party games all night and won every time, so they played alone in a corner for the whole party.  Philip Fry, like always, wants it to be over and left at 8:30 PM. Inge Baardsen brought gifts to everybody but was sad when nobody gave him one. The star of the night was Brandon Gilleyes who managed to get everybody home safe and was happy to be again the designated driver.

WC: 200.
