RE: Garbanzo Beancast Questions - Inf1d3l - 08-17-2019

1. How long do you think you'll keep your current player?

2. Do you think fighting regression is a problem (ie. less new creates. I plan to mildly fight it but not go crazy)

3. What team is a surprise to you most so far in the standings?

RE: Garbanzo Beancast Questions - Rich - 08-17-2019

I wanted to ask a similar question to the one you asked us regarding this HOF class. But then I thought, maybe you wouldn't be able to answer it, since you're on the committee. So, is that something you'd be able to answer?

RE: Garbanzo Beancast Questions - JKortesi81 - 08-23-2019

This is my main question making the podcast rounds.

I've stated this before in my own pod, but i want more feedback on it.

A big topic in the SHL is the whole "archetype" changes thing. I doubt that ever truly gets fixed, but instead of worrying about that to give us more diverse player builds, i suggested the following:

A "maxed out" player would have 3 stats at 99. This means they have 27 total attribute points that go over 90. How about we allow builds to let ANY stat go over 90, except the weakness, but you're only allowed to use 27 attribute points over 90. We could very easily track this in our update pages:

"90+: 21/27 "

Just like we track the season cap.

This would mean we could have more diverse builds instead of everyone being at 99 in just about the same areas, but it wouldn't be too much of a complete change on the site. For example we could have a build like:

CK: 70 *weakness*
FG: 25
DI: 68
SK: 92 (2/27)
ST: 90
EN: 90
PH: 95 (7/27)
FO: 94 (11/27)
PA: 99 (20/27)
SC: 90
DF: 97 (27/27)
PS: 40

That's a pretty nice center build, eh?

This is a quick way to get us a whole bunch of diversity in our player builds, and could easily be the tweak we need to give the user more control over their player.

If people are that worried about the importance of strengths, perhaps make those 3 categories the ONLY ones that can go over 95.

Thoughts?

Would you ever want to GM a team again?

Now that we’ve had them for a few seasons, what do you think about the new divisional format and the wild card round of the playoffs?

Who will the division winners end up being?

RE: Garbanzo Beancast Questions - ArGarBarGar - 08-25-2019

Answered and somesuch

RE: Garbanzo Beancast Questions - Wasty - 08-30-2019

1. If all music in the world was going to be eliminated but you were allowed to save the complete works of exactly one group or artist, who would you pick?

2. What job or career other than your own would you like to attempt?

3. What is your favorite swear word?

RE: Garbanzo Beancast Questions - Slappydoodle - 08-30-2019

Now that the numbers are (mostly) in, predict the award winners. Who is going to get screwed out of a deserved award?

What led to the Panthers improved play in the second half?

Who was the most promising SHL player you’ve seen that fell into inactivity?

What kind of wildlife do you see where you live or anywhere around you?

RE: Garbanzo Beancast Questions - ArGarBarGar - 09-01-2019

Probably recording tonight, if anyone has last minute questions.

RE: Garbanzo Beancast Questions - Slappydoodle - 09-12-2019

A few more to goad you into recording:

Having taken strength as a weakness, do you think that will hold you back at the face off circle as your build develops?

I was a little pleasantly surprised to see your checking at 75. Do you see Cannellini being a physical player throughout his career? Does the idea of racking up PIMs bother you or is it just a byproduct of good, physical play?

RE: Garbanzo Beancast Questions - ArGarBarGar - 09-21-2019

Wow I actually answered questions weee

RE: Garbanzo Beancast Questions - ArGarBarGar - 09-26-2019

Will either record today or tomorrow.

Questions plz

RE: Garbanzo Beancast Questions - Slappydoodle - 09-27-2019

With the announcement of an IIHF HOF, who do you think should be in the inaugural class? Who, playing now, is a shoe-in for induction down the road?

With the fiftieth season of SHL upon us, to what do you owe the continued success of this league? Why has it sustained when so many others have fallen by the wayside?

Looking at the awards nominations, who got snubbed and who wins the big categories?

What was your favorite cereal as a kid and what is it now?
