Yeah, what I saw last night felt more like a broad scale attack on behalf of a group against Gorlab and him acting like a wild animal backed into a corner.

SHL needs a "hound suspension" tbh to prevent ganging up on someone.
If more than one people got suspended of the same fashion ie. attack on the same user, they share suspension
So if the suspension on one person is 10 games, the other is 10 games and 2 million
they will both get 20 games and 2 million.
The problem with ganging up on someone is that it'll cause a more upscale event than it already is.
This would divide users
Divide and conquer.

Let me just point out one thing: I will step down after this season but as of now I am still the Head of the Discipline Committee so I am the person who gets the last say on suspensions like this. If you want to blame anyone because you don't like it, blame me. Don't single out Eggy or any other member of the committee and go after them, it's not their fault. I am the one who is responsible for what happens on the DC, the people I work with on there operate based on guidelines mainly set up by me and the Commishes. This was posted by Eggy because I was very busy yesterday and could barely come online, we had already agreed on the general punishment before but I wasn't the only guy who wasn't available much on Sunday, so it took us a while to set up the suspension posts. And in a situation like that it sure doesn't help if someone like gorlab forces us to act quickly by behaving more and more like a child with every passing hour, which is why we had to implement the posting ban before posting the suspension thread.
Also, and I know this is tough to accept without getting a chance to see it with your own eyes, discussions on the DC are way less one-dimensional than you think. For every time we suspend someone there are plenty of more reports and discussions where we conclude "nah, that's not too bad" and let it slide - and yes, that frequently happens with things said by gorlab or 701 too. The DC isn't some secretive entity that randomly decides to suspend people they don't like, there are a variety of checks and balances in place. The Commishes always have the right to overturn our decisions (yet they very rarely do and I would assume that means they like the work we do), I'm also in constant contact with the HO about all things DC, discussing possible rule changes, new personnel or asking for feedback. I know that not everyone likes the decisions made by the DC, but they don't happen in a vacuum - there are more people involved than you think and we also constantly question ourselves and our decisions in order to not get complacent.
Let's accept it, discipline in a league like this is a more subjective thing than we'd all like. Not because we don't try to be objective but because there are so many different opinions and possible approaches on an internet forum. Some people want a system that is extremely laissez-faire, others want a very strict one and the large majority lies somewhere between that. You simply can't make everyone happy, you have to decide on a general approach and then try to stick to that, which is what we have done. And as I've said before, I frequently ask the HO if they are still okay with our current course of action and if not, how we should change it,
