While the obvious answer is to say it is best to spread out the TPE evenly, I would tell the player to put a little more focus on Stamina.

I honestly think that putting some points into stamina is probably the most important. Without any stamina, your player can't do much of anything. They'll just sit on the bench while someone else takes your ice time because your too tired to skate.

Two words for you : Mental Toughness

Sure, Positioning and Reflexes will carry you for most of your career as a goalie. But Mental Toughness is what allows you to go from "good" to "great". When you get bombarded one night because your defense forgot to hockey, you'll be very happy to have the ability to bounce back from a bad goal and stop the next 25 shots coming your way. Trust me - I've yet to see an average below 40 shots a night since the switch to FHM...

Everyone is afraid to say it. What is the real god stat. The answer is simple even though no one wants to admit. Fighting. Nothing can turn a game quite like you beating the shit out of your opponent.

Early on, put it into physicals. It gets you the most bang for your TPE. After you have that base, the "reads" and team based abilities like passing and positioning are clutch for not being a liability.

for goalie, the most important one seems to be a mix of positioning, recovery and reflexes. Don't bother at all with skating, puckhandling and passing, you can do fine with those being low.

RE: S58 mPT #2 Most Important Stat - JSS - 02-20-2021

The most important stat that a player of the Simulation Hockey League can have is of course none other than fighting. Fighting wins games period.

Obviously each build has different strengths and weaknesses and thus there's different attributes you want to round out but the basis for any build would be the physical stats, including endurance. Starting out playing third line minutes it's less of a pressing issue but if you are a defenseman or top line forward you need to focus on getting your endurance up so you can be at maximum effectiveness for as long as possible while you're on the ice. Also your ability to move up and down the ice through the skating attributes and being strong on the puck matter a lot. You can be as flashy as you want but if you can't move around without easily getting bumped off the puck you won't be nearly as effective.

If a new member messages me and asks what stat is the most important.. I would say that the most important stat is shot blocking. Being able to block shots is very important to having a successful team and career.

First, be a little Brave. Then, get the Stamina to do what your category says you can do. After that, decide which siDe yOu wanna be on. Balance everything else out and you’ll be fine for at least six months.

Hey, [user]! Thanks for thinking I'm someone you should ask a stats question to. I think you should go talk to my friend goldenglutes, perhaps. I'm just here to support you, but idk, maybe stamina. You're going to get tired in this league. Gotta stay with it.

RE: S58 mPT #2 Most Important Stat - MCP_ - 02-21-2021

For function purposes, checking is pretty important. The easiest thing a rookie can do is learn to get the puck out of an opponent's stick, so it up's their on-ice effectiveness ten fold

Balance. There isn't one single person that doesn't benefit from bumping up their balance. It allows you to skate better when you meet adverse situations or when you need to perform tricky maneuvers. Wingers, Centers, D-men. Everyone could use more balance in their lives.

RE: S58 mPT #2 Most Important Stat - juniped - 02-21-2021

This is an obvious answer. If you want to make contributions on the ice you add to fighting. Fighting is the only stat in the league that matters, if you can beat up the guys on the other team then they can't beat you. EZ as 1-2-3

RE: S58 mPT #2 Most Important Stat - CaptainCrazy - 02-21-2021

I think the most important stat is Stamina because it affects all of your skills. If you Stamina is very low, you won't be good even if uour other stats are super high.
