RE: S57 SMJHL Offseason Time-Waster - Keenan - 11-24-2020 As far as draft destinations themselves go, Anchorage sure is... one of them. It's very pretty looking, which is nice, but doesn't do you much good when you're freezing your ass off in those Alaskan nights. There are some mountains nearby, which is nice, but it makes it prone to yeti attacks (or the North American yeti equivalent, ice Bigfoot or something. There's fantastic wildlife nearby, which is nice, but that includes bears and moose so they'll fuck your day right up if you look at them funny. But ultimately it is home to a great SMJHL team, which Gregory Goode looks forward to playing for. Also no income tax doesn't hurt. RE: S57 SMJHL Offseason Time-Waster - notorioustig - 11-24-2020 I'm very excited about joining the Detroit Falcons alongside some extremely talented fellow rookies, as I think Detroit had an amazing draft with some future superstars sure to come from it. Getting to play with players of that calibre to start my career will only help push me RE: S57 SMJHL Offseason Time-Waster - The Professor - 11-24-2020 I thought Detroit was nice but holy is Portland a beauty (Portland, Maine, that is). Nice and chilly, yet still so nice being one of the many coastal cities up here in Maine. It's downtown is nice and peaceful as well, and finally, it's just a nice small and wholesome community that I'm able to join. RE: S57 SMJHL Offseason Time-Waster - zaynzk - 11-25-2020 im so excited to be in vancover since i think they had a winter Olympics there and thats pretty tight, I dont watch those but its still cool RE: S57 SMJHL Offseason Time-Waster - Amidships - 11-25-2020 While Carolina is too hot for proper (outdoor) hockey most of the year, Carolina seems to be a nice place off the ice. Oh, and the Kraken's branding is absolutely incredible. RE: S57 SMJHL Offseason Time-Waster - inverted - 11-25-2020 Vancouver Whalers is my favorite locker room I've joined outside of the ISFL. I was little annoyed to be a max earner and fall to the very bottom of the second but it was all ok when I learned I was with the reigning champs with my boy Boom at GM. RE: S57 SMJHL Offseason Time-Waster - cahtah haht - 11-25-2020 TK has been living in South Jersey for a while. South jersey is a bad place. This is because it has not really snowed there for years. It will snow in Kelowna. Hell yeah. RE: S57 SMJHL Offseason Time-Waster - Asked Madden - 11-25-2020 I get to go back to the team that took a shot on me in FA pre draft which is extremely exciting. On a side note, St Louis deserves a good sports team after losing the rams. Why not the scarecrows? RE: S57 SMJHL Offseason Time-Waster - .simo - 11-25-2020 New Newfoundland ay? This is where I have found myself after the draft and to be honest I'd never heard of the place before now but it has been great and my new team mates have been very welcoming. One thing I didn't expect was a hugely vibrant cocktail scene in town buy myself and some team mates just can't pass up the opportunity to head out and get a martini or two. RE: S57 SMJHL Offseason Time-Waster - DeletedAtUserRequest - 11-25-2020 I love that Coach @Katth brings me a 40 ounce inside a paper bag after each practice. He says he rather me get it from him then going to a corner store and using my fake ID, which could hurt my parole. Katth is a great coach. I had a strong feeling from the get go that I would be wearing a Scarecrow sweater and the history of this very successful team is what drew me here. I cannot wait to knock some people on their asses this season. RE: S57 SMJHL Offseason Time-Waster - Nike - 11-25-2020 Newfoundland is not particularly popular with the tourists that are looking for warm weather. However, there is a great hockey culture along the eastern Canadian shores. I'm also excited to spend some time out on the water given that we are in a coastal area. RE: S57 SMJHL Offseason Time-Waster - BloodPig - 11-25-2020 Rovolio is very happy to join the Raptors in Colorado and add to an already impressive blue line. Fresh off signing his first contract, hes now focused on training camp and has no time to explore the state. RE: S57 SMJHL Offseason Time-Waster - Canadice - 11-25-2020 Hearing his name as early as the second round came to a surprise for Tomas and his family, but Tomas was eager to travel across the Atlantic to meet up with his fellow Kraken. |
