take yourself as a league serious or don’t. I don’t care either way. But when someone fucks up there’s rules and punishments. When something like this happens it’s “oopsies, we’ll try to not have it happen again” without any explanations how it happened, how it’s remedied.
when it then gets called out that it shouldn’t have happened and those systems should have been in place after all we go in and make funny AI jokes.
mistakes happen yes. If you take yourself serious communicate how those mistakes happened and how they’re not happening again. Be transparent. Be accountable. Commissioner shouldn’t go in and make jokes about mistakes that happened. Or do but then get rid of the serious way to communicate other things and just be a fun thing.

Bro it's the fourth of July and people are allowed to have personalities and joke around. Trust the leadership in the league is taking it seriously. I don't know what your problem is but like... This is such a petty thing to argue about.

ah sorry I thought I put in my commissioner time earlier this week when this happened in the big league! I was just answering this as a J GM who’s also bummed about the resim but understands that it’s necessary.
I think this post did a pretty solid job of explaining how it happened and taking accountability. We don’t like when this stuff happens. Obviously we don’t. It’s extremely unpleasant to deal with in HO, especially when it happens on a holiday and we have to take time away from our families to deal with it.
Sometimes, though, humor is kind of how we cope. I could have been angry about it (and I was, earlier, when I found out that it happened) but I’m trying to do my best to deal with the situation we’ve been handed.
Obviously this shouldn’t have happened. We do fine simmers for these mistakes; we don’t publicly shame them because that never accomplishes anything, but they are fined for errors. It’s easy to say in hindsight that we should have systems in place for this, but I can tell you that I’ve been in head office here for two real years now and prior to this week there had only been two incidents of this happening in those two entire years. We just didn’t ever anticipate it happening twice in one week. That’s obviously our bad, but all we can really do is try to do better in the future.
We’ve talked with J HO extensively this week (J commissioner has visibility into most league wide stuff) and have talked about more frequent audits that will be taking place in the future.
I’m sorry if my attempt to deal with the second occurrence of this in one week offended you, but humor is largely how I process a lot of the unpleasant things in my life, and I didn’t think it would be such a huge problem here. My mistake!

"Unfortunate" doesn't begin to describe my simulation, this game rewards blind luck and nothing else, I am beyond convinced at this point. After getting completely tooled by scheduling with my opponent changing times on me last minute and refusing to provide confirmation prior to the day of the match as to play times, losing this way somehow felt even worse than I had thought possible. My preparation was superior, my play was superior, and I lost, so I don't see a reason to continue engaging in an activity where what is within my control is overwhelmingly outweighed by what is not.
I am done with competitive sim hockey, and you won't get a fond farewell. This community is infected to its roots with a degenerative disease that grows stronger over time but stops short of killing its host. Tournaments used to have a competitive spirit at their heart, this has been transplanted and replaced with an artificial organ that feeds on vitriol and mockery from insecure little boys that heckle by the sidelines and tear each other to shreds over scraps of attention. The environment we fostered has trapped us all like this in a vicious cycle, and escaping it requires acceptance of the harshest reality we all scramble to explain away, that none of the countless straining efforts we put ourselves through here will ever amount to one single shining glimmer of significance. I would make this the end, but World Cup is still ongoing, and I would never leave so many great friends out to dry, so I'll suffer through a few more games for them.
One last thing before I leave you all to react with disdain, ridicule, and self-righteous fervor, before you do everything in your power to minimize my words and thoughts, box them up and shove them to some cobwebbed corner of your memory, and hope they disappear forever as a stain on your finite time ground to dust. From this moment on, nothing you say matters to me. The foulest insults you hurl with intent to wound will calmly settle at the earth before my feet, and the venom you spit will bring all the pain of a warm summer breeze.
