Welp, just bumping this, as we like to do every few weeks, because there's always so much fresh traffic on SHL, because this league is great!
GOMHL is another sim league, using the same SimonT simulator as we do here. Earning TPE is more straight forward, simply weekly A/Cs (8 TPE for drafted players) and a 200 word media weekly (2 TPE), along with "annual" Training Camp (20 TPE), and you'll be earning 90% of the available TPE in the league.
Contracts are the main way to make money (that, and Fantasy hockey within the league), with the greatest purchases being equipment and a few other TPE related bonuses... money is emphasized far less than it is here- it's not needed for weekly training.
The biggest difference is the 500 TPE cap, which takes a little more than 1 year in RL to hit. We also have a much more kind scale to go along with that lower TPE cap. The cap puts greater emphasis on what you put your points into- how you build your player. Unlike SHL, where those of us who earn TPE at a crazy rate end up all maxed at 99s and 90s, you MUST choose carefully, because you can't max out. That means we have legit playmakers, snipers, power forwards, offensive defensemen, etc.
With a max career length of 12 seasons (which happens naturally due to the regression scale), players spend 4-5 seasons in their prime, which means you won't be buried on a roster for 18 months before you get a top 6/4 role on your team (which can happen here, which is fine, but just not how that league is set up). Because it's a smaller league, the stars shine all that much brighter.
It's a lot of fun, we've got a nice group over there. It's half the size of this league, so it tends to be a more close knit experience. Come check it out, and have some fun.

Most laid back league I’m in! You can still create an awesome player by just doing weekly activity checks! Come check it out

So, our league expanded last season, so our old site banner just isn't cutting it anymore- we're running a small contest for a new one. Why should that concern anyone here? Because while the reward for the winning banner is 5 million bucks for normal GOMHL mambers- it will be 10 free initial TPE for any new join who creates a player. When you're dealing with a 500 cap, 10 points is big! That's 2 attribute points in the 90s, folks (or 10 in the 50s!
