4. Fun Times:
As the teams dedicated fun time director I take my job VERY seriously. I almost put more time and effort into this than I do my actual job of being a number one defenceman. First and foremost throughout the season we have various programs to help deal with player stress and avoid burnout. We have a dedicated room in the DODGE HELLCAT ARENA specifically for puppies. You can go in when you are feeling a bit down and just pet puppies until you feel better. We also have dedicated team nights throughout the season where we go to movies, Concerts, or other events when the schedule gives us a bit of an extended break. Obviously we also fun Charity events that are signup based so there is no stress or pressure on the players to go. This season during our bye week for the playoffs we decided as a team to go on a group vacation to unwind before what we knew would be a bit of a tough round against the best player in Simulation Major Junior Hockey League history (points wise atleast). As a team we decided to go to Switzerland to see the sights and because of its proximity to France, Italy, and Germany for day trips. After some spa treatments, some hiking in the mountains, and more food than we would like to admit I had a special surprise for the team. You guessed it, another room full of puppies. Even better each player who wanted to was able to take one of the puppies home with them. We only had to bribe officials a little bit to expedite the process of bringing live animals into the country, little bit of money, some season tickets and again you guessed it, a puppy. Turns out you can go pretty far in life by just giving people puppies. As of writing this Nevada is up in our series, so the power of the puppy is real. If you tell people that the dogs 1) understand hockey and 2) they watch each and every game, the players will do everything they can to not disappoint them. We have also promised the team that if we perform well specifically make the finals, we will convert Jess’ office into a kitten room, so they will have the option to go to either puppies or kittens depending on how their feeling. 8. Alternate timeline
Listen I know the prompt is for another team in the playoffs, and the easy answers would be the Quebec City Citadels and a cruise right into the finals (with me in the roster obviously) or the Detroit Falcons to turn their great talent into great depth. If i had to choose a team to play for in an alternate reality, i can say that in this alternative reality with me in the lineup, they make the playoffs. With that being said the team I would hypothetically like to play for in an alternate reality is the Carolina Kraken. To start I have a tremendous amount of respect for their management team. I think they are some of the best to do it and I think theyre poised to do well in the coming season. I also think with how I played this past season, i would have had a solid shot at first pairing which may have swayed a few more games their way. I also have a lot of respect for a number of their players, especially the rookies from my draft class. We had originally had a hope of the 3 or 4 of us playing on the same team together which unfortunately did not come to head as it didnt fit the Krakens draft plan. The only other team I would like to have played for in an alternate reality is the Maine Timber to play with my good friend Toasty O’Bibgers. The pairing of O’Bibgers and Lothbrok would have been a force to be reckoned with for seasons to come and with any luck we may just get to see that in effect in the future. (281 words)

1. Fan appreciation day for the Whalers in Vancouver, it is important that the fans realize just how instrumental they are to the franchise and even though we had a poor showing this year that we will come back bigger and better next year. That is why I have decided to design this year’s gift as a Space-X Starship with a cargo bay that opens up, inside it is just like a Polly pocket from back in that day, There are mini figurines of each of the players as well as a Whale in the holding bay. This team is ready to take flight to the next level! To the Moon! I think the fans will have plenty of fun with this unique gift that has hope for our future as a team, not just next year but for many more years to come. This team will be a dynasty with the core that we have built up.

3 – I have it on good authority that next year the whalers are going to be putting the entire Ice surface on a hydraulic lift system that can quite literally tilt the Ice in their favor. They brought in the best engineers from Cirque Du Solei and will be able to tilt the ice just enough that the opposing team will always be skating uphill towards our end of the ice and will wear out sooner. At the intermission, we will sneakily tilt the ice again. This won’t be so obvious that anyone can notice with the naked eye. I just hope our back checkers are ready for the extra effort.

14. This year during a charity softball game, Cal Kono managed to make a fool of himself as he struck out during Slo- Pitch. As he stepped up to the plate, the pressure was on, there was a runner on second and only one out, No pressure just make some contact with that large floating ball as it comes towards you. Pitch one is up, the ball is gliding slowly through the air toward the plate, Cal Kono swings the bat, *Crack* he hits the ball into the air down the third base line and he takes off, but unfortunately, the ball goes foul and he has to walk back to the plate and take another swing. Strike one- Foul Ball. He’s ready for it this time, Ball two ins in the air, this time Cal thinks better of it and decides not to Swing as the ball sails long and misses the plate and is a Ball. The count is one and one, and the third pitch is already on its way. Again, Cal takes a big swing at the ball as it comes across the plate, another her crack and the ball is off again, this time however the ball immediately takes a sharp left is hits the fence, another foul ball. That’s two strikes now and only one ball, no big deal, however, it's just Slo pitch, anyone can hit these balls, it’s not even a competitive game, its just for fun. But Professional athletes are not known for not being competitive and Cal is actually quite stressed out at this point and worried about the implications. He brushes aside his worries and steps into the batter’s box for the next pitch. The ball is thrown and, on its way, Cal Winds up and gives it everything he’s got, and, ther’s nothing. No crack this time, just a big wiff of the ball and Cal has stuck out, of the embarrassment, but what can he do but to laugh at himself, as he walks off to the dugout laughing he casually takes off his helmet and tosses it into the dugout. I don’t think the boys in the locker room are going to let me live this one down.
The next day Cal wakes up to a bunch of messages in the team group chat with links to Youtube, oh know, why does anyone even care about this, oh well hopefully they will all forget about it soon.

15. As Cal is from Penticton he plans to spend this off season in the Okanagan out on the lake and having a blast with friends and family. There’s not a better place in the world in the summer than the Okanagan Valley, and spending time out on the lake is one of the best ways to relax and have a good time.

18. At this point in my SHL and SMJHL I am doing my best to keep active, I really enjoy the concept and have been fortunate to be able to complete a lot of the tasks while at work. This is one of the most welcoming communities I have come across on the Internet and everyone is quite nice. I do feel a bit bad for my teammates when I miss some of the tasks and potentially let them down a bit. Everyone is putting their time and effort into us new folks and I don’t want to be a waste of their time. My goals for the future are to remain an active member of the community and continue to try to stay active in some of the extra curriculars such as the Graphics community and the Rookie Discord. I definitely want to make the hobby a part of my routine each week where I can devote a bit of time to it.

Hey everyone, Ken DeLozier here with SHL Life Magazine. We’re here interviewing one of the most hyped draft prospects of the year, Pete Aleman of the Kelowna Knights, to discuss the first season and see how he felt about the year. The Knights, as we all know, had another down season, finishing 12th in the standings. We’ll see how Aleman felt about his performance, the team’s performance, and what he’s looking forward to in the future.
DELOZIER: Good evening, Pete. Glad to finally have a chance to speak with you.
ALEMAN: Evenin’ Ken, great to meet you.
DELOZIER: So, we’re just going to go through a few questions the magazine is having me ask. We’re going to start off: near the end of the season, there was a Fan Appreciation Day which I understand you had a pretty big hand in. Can you talk about that a little bit?
ALEMAN: Absolutely. As the big first round pick, the rookie, the marketing department approached me to try to collaborate on a commemorative item for my 50th game played. I worked with them and the fine folks at Gardens Glass to create a pint glass for our diehard fans. It’s kind of a play on Aleman / ale-man, and as a way to honor my homeland of Ireland, I worked with them to make a Guinness-style glass. Each glass came with a free beer ticket (with shown ID, obviously) and after the game I got a chance to meet some of the fans, sign some autographs, chat a bit. There’s a lot of really incredible people here in Kelowna who support the Knights and I’m glad I had more of a chance to sit down and get to know a few of the folks who put bums in seats. Things like this are my favorite part of playing in the J, I'm able to meet a ton more people and chat with the great fans. Up until this season it was always 1am ice time for games, with maybe the girlfriends or parents of a few guys on the team in the stands. Now we're playing in front of sold out arenas... and everyone's excited to meet you. It's been absolutely amazing playing for this team and I'm glad I can meet the fans when I can. DELOZIER: That seems like a great opportunity, albeit from someone who can’t legally drink in Canada. (chuckles) So let’s move on a little bit to the SHL draft. Have you been talking with any of the GMs? Have a good feeling about any teams? What are some strengths and weaknesses that the folks doing the drafting, as well as the folks at home, should know about?
ALEMAN: I won’t say exactly who, but I’ve had a few really great chats with the GMs. I’m truly looking forward to more coming up to draft day. I love interviewing, it feels like an opportunity to put my own skills on showcase and really just try to show how much of an asset I can be for the organization... and I recognize that it's as much about finding a good fit for me as it is the team picking me as a good fit for them. That's the key to interviewing, I've found. I want a good locker room fit, both for me and the team. Nobody likes the guy who has to demand a trade because they're not a good culture fit. In terms of strengths and weaknesses, I feel like they’re kind of hand-in-hand and stem from my general hockey strategy philosophy. A lot of times you see young players come into the league looking to be the next big sniper, goal scorer, shooter… Your Theo Morgans, your Chimkin Wings. A lot of emphasis on putting the puck in the net, not a lot of emphasis from stopping it on the other end. I feel offense starts with defense, with puck possession, and with clean breakouts and zone entries. That’s the focus of my game, ensuring our team is put in the best position for those type of players to work their magic. The cost, however, is that I’m putting a lot more time into edgework, positioning, and studying than I am into ripping shots top shelf all practice. [Prompt 12, 261 words]
DELOZIER: There’s definitely a lot of teams that could use a little bit more of that mindset, I’m sure you’ll land somewhere you’re happy. So, with Kelowna now out of the playoffs, you’ve got a little bit of time to gain some well needed rest and relaxation after the long season. Do you have any big plans for the offseason in terms of things off-ice?
ALEMAN: Ya know Ken, I’m pretty happy to be getting a chance to head back home to see my family. They’ve flown out for a few games, but I haven’t had a chance to see them too much. It’s 14 hours of flying plus layovers from Kelowna to Cork, not easy on the parents. Another thing I'm really into at home is building and painting miniatures for board games. I have a huge collection of minis for various games I grew up playing with my friends. It helps take my mind off things to just throw on some laid back tunes, sit down and take a few hours to paint some pieces. I'm very much looking forward to getting back to 3D print and make some new guys. Other than that, I’m hoping to do some hiking with my dogs and keep studying tape. Like a lot of folks in this league, hockey is the biggest thing in my life and I’m just going to keep putting in hours to be the best player that I can be. [Prompt 15, 177 words]
DELOZIER: And finally, I know that you’ve spent a lot of time and effort giving back to the community. Can you talk a little bit about that?
ALEMAN: Definitely. I feel like I have had incredible opportunities throughout my life, from the schools I’ve been able to go to even to just having amazing parents that love and support me in my dreams. I like to give back to organizations that help out those who are less fortunate. Here in Kelowna I’ve started Knights for Kids, that’s K-N-I-G-H-T-S for Kids, a charity organization that raises money to get kids who are less fortunate into sports leagues, to give them something to latch onto and keep them out of trouble. We buy equipment and pay league fees to try to get the kids into something positive. I’ve spent a few off-days doing skating clinics and going to practices with them. There’s a lot of really great kids in the program and I like to think we’re doing a lot of good with this. I'd like to think that someday I'll be playing on a team with some of the kids that we helped through this program. [Prompt 16, 167 words]

2. Looking Towards the Future...
... and that's gonna be good.
We all knew the young Kelowna Knights were integrating new players this season, and it is going to be a crucial season for those new sophomore players. leading the S69 draft with what could be 3 top 20 picks, and 4 picks in the first two rounds next draft, Kelowna is looking for success in the short-, medium- and long-term.
Most of the active members of the team are from the S67 and S68 classes, meaning the best is yet to come in British Columbia. Kelowna already has 9 active players from the S67 and S68 classes, and not a lot of players should be leaving town after the playoffs.
Veteran Sash Sharnaz is expected to leave next year, and point leader Jacques Hammer should take his place on the first line. Third-season Graj Virrok, leading the Philly Forge prospect list with 634 TPE, might also pack his bags for the big league next season, opening a spot for a defenceman. That is basically it. Not a lot of major changes are also expected next year.
Kelowna is actively scouting the minor leagues in a stacked S69 draft. The Knights will benefit from adding more forwards - especially right wingers and centers. A completely newly drafted third line could fit in the lineup. There is still a need for a first-line center, but Munko Aitmukhambetov did a great job this season, switching from left wing to center. Rookie Adam Liebold finished third in his team (42 pts in 66 games) and could fight for a spot on the first line as one of the few natural right wingers on the roster. Ekaterina Valieva practiced her faceoffs since she joined the team in the middle of the season and could switch to center and get a more stable position on the second line, leaving vulnerable the right flank even more.
Our prediction is a new generation of Knights offensive players in the S69 draft, as the general managers take a more serious look at new forwards. The team is stacked on the left wing, with an almost complete lack of center and right wing players. The team could also trade for a more experienced center, able to play on the first line, but might not sacrifice its younger core.
On the blue line, the future is already looking good. Finn Brandt and Potential Spam are eager to take on new responsibilities in their third year and Pete Aleman had a very strong rookie season. Aleman should get a lot of attention in the upcoming SHL draft, and the coach is praying Virrok stays in the league for one more season so he could take the young prospect under his wing. One new defenceman added to the core is expected.
Keep also an eye during the SHL draft on left winger James Lutz, leading this year's rookies with 313 TPE, and right winger Adam Liebold, who had a very productive first season. Ekaterina Valieva could be a deep sleeper pick as she joined the American system from Russia in the middle of the season and took some time to adjust to the league. Rookie goalie Sea Jebus also had the luxury of a lot of ice time, helping his development. Scouts around the SHL were interested in goalie Sjøforsvaret and center Elmo Oliver. Oliver was both a revelation and an enigma this year. He might not be the fastest or best player on the ice, but he managed to lead the Knights in points and goals for half a season, playing very well piloting the second line.

6. Team History
Getting drafted by the Knights comes with the pressure of an SMHJL dynasty. I must admit I did not know that Kelowna had such an illustrious history. They won the Cup in S2, S3, S11, S21, S22, S25, S31, S32, S40, S41, S42, (not S51... breaking the spell), and S59, meaning that they won the Cup each decade, except S6X. That's 12 cups in 67 seasons, more than 1 Four-Star Cup every 6 seasons on average. They also lost 6 times in the finals, for a respectable total of 19 final appearances in 67 seasons.
The Kelowna Knights also finished first in the standings for 9 seasons. Only 4 times have the Knights both won the season and the Cup.
Fun fact: The Vancouver Whalers also won the Cup 12 times; both teams share the prestige of having won the most cups in the history of the league. The defunct Prince George Firebirds also won 4 Cups. That means a team from British Columbia won the Four Star Cup a total of 28 times (!), for a total of 41,8% of all SMJHL finals.

4. Funtimes:
Quebec City Citadelles has been considered an underdog all year long among the elite teams from the SMJHL. However, many within the organization attribute the over-achieving success of reaching the Four Cup Finals to the tight-knit family bond among the players. Alexander Minaj has been one of the S68 drafts picks that helped the Citadelles on the ice throughout the regular reason accomplish the top record. However, during the playoffs, Alex has been struggling with an increased role on the ice as he has been tasked with shutting down top players in the league. After overcoming a 1-3 series deficit to St Louis by winning an OT game 7, the Citadelles have some time off before the Finals begin. Minaj has taken it upon himself to plan some team bonding events to alleviate the stress and pressure of the playoffs. He has organized a one-day, two-round disc golf tournament at the La BASE Monstre course. A newly installed 18-hole course is located in a public wooded park near the training facility. Minaj offered a 1st place prize was dinner on the rookie's tab at the winner’s favorite dinner. He also provided some nice Canadian whiskey for each card to enjoy the day and hopefully increase his odds of winning. The players enjoyed themselves by drinking and laughing with their teammates throughout the day. Surprising the entire team, rookie @TonyW19 came away with the win, while Fdam Aoote should stick to his day job on the ice. Hopefully, this special team bonding day will bring the team even closer and help them make the final push to end their remarkable season holding the Four Star Cup.

When Quebec City was scouting me, I was asked how I felt about joining a team that was rebuilding. I had zero issues joining a rebuilding team if I am being honest, I didn’t quite understand what this would entail. However, as our season progressed, we stayed near the top of the standings, and Minaj played extremely well compared to the other rookies. I wasn’t expecting to be competing for Rookie of the Year since this was my first time in sim hockey, but now it appears I will most likely be at least a nominee for the award. Also, QCC won the Laurifer Trophy and is in the finals to become the Four-Star Cup Champions. All three of these awards in the rookie year would be quite an accomplishment, but definitely, the jewel would be the Four-Star Cup. Before jumping into the SHL, I would love to win the championship at least once and come home with the Quilha Agante Trophy and Alexis Metzler Trophy for the Top Defenseman and Top Defensive Defenseman, respectively.
Getting drafted into the SHL, I have a goal of going top 10 and improving upon my draft position during the SMJHL. Once in the SHL, hopefully winning another Rookie of the Year award would be incredible to have won both league's equivalents. I have grand plans to make Alexander Minaj one of the greatest defensemen to enter the SHL, so collecting a handful of Scott Stevens and Bojo Biscut Award for Best Defenseman and Best Defensive Defenseman would be critical for his trophy case to enter that conversation. Collecting at least one League MVP or, even better, a Playoff MVP would help me achieve that goal. In reality, being a cornerstone player for my SHL team and winning multiple Challenge Cups is my dream.
I plan on focusing not just on my domestic success as a player, but I have joined Team Ireland on the international scene with two other members of the S68 draft class. We plan on rebuilding the Irish into an international powerhouse first by dominating the roster of the British Isles and leading the charge for gold medals. Once we break into Team Ireland at the IIHF level, consistently outperforming the lesser island and collecting additional hardware is the goal.
During my rookie year as a user, I have been able to get jobs as an auditor and member of the SMJHL Awards Committee. Also, I was able to join the front office of Quebec City and begin learning the ropes of all the behind-the-scenes being done to one day become a GM myself.

Immediately apparent is the vacancies in the 3rd pair for Detroit. While alleviated by two S68 players that will be at the 350 TPE cap by the start of Season 68 (Nathan Meagher, Nash Topalo), the defense will need to be reinforced on the fly. This is also exacerbated if Julian Florsch is called up to Minnesota, which is a very likely possibility as he is has earned much more the worst defenseman on Minnesota's roster TPE wise (619 TPE for Julian vs 393 TPE for Roberson on Minnesota.) Cob Corning is also inactive but at 300 TPE is at least a decent contributor.
The forward core needs great reinforcement as well with two inactives sitting at 155 TPE and the 9th forwards spot vacant currently. It is to be determined if a top heavy offense as it currently stands with Bnana Nwaffles at the 1C and Season 68's leader in points and goals lining up with The Terrance and Trap Zelenock. Bastien Primeau and Bodan Jarovsky give a decent bit of length as well with the latter currently over the 425 TPE cap for 3rd year junior players. The Falcons would be put in a much worse situation if Bnana NWaffles gets called up to Hamilton as well, who is currently fielding multiple inactive forwards below Waffles' TPE of 514.

Task 12: On the Radar
Nathan Meagher is a left handed defenseman for the Detroit Falcons. Standing at 6'4" and 230 pounds, Meagher is has the weight and body to be a physical presence on the ice, especially on in the defensive zone. He has a cerebral awareness of defensive positioning in terms of his body and momentum, as well as with his stick. He had a knack for shot blocking in Season 67, registering 172 which was 3rd in the SMJHL and 1st among rookies. His aforementioned build was instrumental to his play, physically wearing on players with over 100 hits in Season 67. His offensive capabilities are limited, with a shot that is at best mediocre in power and accuracy along with poor vision in terms of offensive read. He is however a decent puckhandler and doesn't turn it over, and his passing is at least not a complete liability so Meagher can get the puck to his more offensively minded teammates. He best fits as a stay at home defenseman that can help anchor a defensive pairing defensively or help make up for any defensive errors made by teammates. Meagher currently grades as a late 1st round to early 2nd round draft pick in the Season 68 SHL Entry Draft.

2. Obviously this last season for Newfoundland was not the greatest coming in last in the league but I think we have a lot of things to look forward to going into next season. We have a very young team with many of the core players returning for next season and it looks like our future is looking promising. Newfoundland has a lot of young talented prospects, and if all of them stay on track in regards to training and staying active will be able to make Newfoundland into a powerhouse team sooner rather than later. Towards the end of the season last year it seemed like our forwards started to produce more showing continued growth and progress throughout the season gaining momentum going into next year. With many of our forwards coming back and gaining experience over the last season it looks like we will have a strong offensive core to hopefully produce many goals over the next few seasons. I believe that we have good young goaltending with Tummy Hurts taking the majority of the starts last year and showing strong promise for seasons going forward. Our goalies were forced to take a lot of shots throughout the season due to our poor defensive play but hopefully with that experience and continued training our goaltending will continue to be a strong aspect for Newfoundland moving forward. We did not have a very strong performance offensively from our defensive positions but offensive ability is not the only thing you look at from defensemen, however we did end up giving a lot of goals during this last season. Now giving up goals has to do with all players on the team, but in general for both forwards and defensmen the plus minus numbers were very poor across-the-board. I think the biggest need that we have for Newfoundland moving forward is that we need to turn around our plus minus numbers. Whether we need to turn around our plus minus numbers by adding some defensive defenseman depth or looking at getting more improved defensively on the forward side so that we do not give up as many goals as we did last season, but like I said our biggest problem last year was giving up way too many goals during the year. Overall I think Newfoundland has built a pretty good core of young talent and will be excited to see what the future holds moving forward for our organization.

12. When it comes to Matiss Ozolinsh in the S68 Draft Class he brings a great combination of skating speed, strength and balance with high hockey IQ and a strong offensive game. While at high speeds, he is able to maintain possession of the puck with his soft quick hands and can do so while making elusive moves around defenders without having to slow down. Matiss also has a powerful quick release to be able to get the puck off his stick and into the back of the net from anywhere in the offensive zone. With his offensive awareness he is always going to be in the right space at the right time to be able to give and receive passes to generate offense and produce goals. Matiss does not have the strongest defensive zone game, but has been known to have strong defensive positioning and defensive zone reads at times to break up opposing teams scoring chances. The defensive zone is where Matiss needs to put the most work in since that is the weakest part of his game. However, he is a winger who has the potential to develop into a beast if he manages to put all the pieces together.

18. The main goals that I have for my player is to just build the best possible player that I can and if things work out over my career with statistics and championships that will just be even better. Since this is my first player in my first ever sim league I just want to create the best player that I can. I have heard that the first player is the most special and I just want to be able to have my first player be the best that I can possibly make him. My goal for the ideal build throughout my career is going to be the strongest offensive player that I can make which would include a player that will produce in the offensive zone whether that be a goal scorer or a playmaker. By the end of my career my hope is that my player will have at least one championship but ultimately by the end of the career I hope my player will have played well enough and put up the stats to be inducted into the Hall of Fame. If I am able to make my first ever sim league player a Hall of Famer I will feel like that is a huge accomplishment.

6: Newfoundland's history is pretty awesome when you stop to think about it. There are various eras but most of them have had some level of greatness in them. So first you've got the Lethbridge era. The Lethbridge era lasted from S45 or so to S52. This era didn't really have anything all that incredible happen in it however there were some Lion legends who were around in those years that absolutely should not be forgotten. First you've got Harry Carpet. Harry Carpet of course went on to have a lengthy SHL career and became one of the greatest goalies of all time. Captain of Toronto for almost two decades, he'll eventually be in the hall of fame for his incredible work. There is actually an award given out every year by NL called the Harry Carpet award which goes to the team's most underrated player. The next really important player to mention from this era was Monkey D. Luffy. Monkey D. Luffy is one of those players whose SHL career is really prominent and few will remember his time in Lethbridge compared to that SHL career. Monkey D. Luffy has won 4 Challenge Cups in his career which included scoring the game winning goal in a game 7. While in Lethbridge Monkey D. Luffy was a captain for all 4 years and served as the heart of the team. To this day NL gives out an award in his honor to the player who has the best demonstration of leadership among all the players on the team. While the team didn't really achieve many goals while Monkey D. Luffy was there, and since the team has moved to Newfoundland Monkey D. Luffy's lore has been less remembered but it should never be forgotten.
Okay so then the next big era came when The Lethbridge Lions moved to Newfoundland and became the Newfoundland Berserkers. In Newfoundland the team elevated to a whole new level. The era was kicked off by the team acquiring instrumental players in the form of Renji Attake, Ryuuji Minamino, and Steve Harrington. These players would come to define NL for years to come. Renji Attake played 5 years with NL and remains arguably the greatest D-man that the team has ever had. Whether or not that is true is still difficult to assess but regardless he was the best D-man in the SMJHL for most of the years he was in it. Then you've got Center Ryuuji Minaimino and Winger Steve Harrington. Harrington was drafted by NL in the first round and regarded as a can't miss prospect, but his center teammate was taken 56th overall. In what was one of the greatest steals in draft history, Harrington and Minamino would go on to create one of the most lethal duos in SMJHL history. Minamino would actually go on to become the all time career points leader in the 50 game era of the SMJHL. A history that stretches 50 plus years mind you. So it was such an incredible season that Minamino became the first player to have his number retired by the team. Minamino would also go on to become the first player to ever score 60 goals in an SHL season and is regarded as one of the best SHL players of the last decade. Harrington has had a phenomenal career with Buffalo, winning several cups and setting many scoring records along the way.
There are two other players from this era who must be mentioned as well. First is Goalie Cale Amundsen. While Harry Carpet might have been the first good goaltender in franchise history, that was in Lethbridge. But Cale Amundsen was the first great goal tender in Newfoundland history. Cale stuck around in NL for 4 seasons and became the first goalie in franchise history to record 100 games. A real accomplishment when you consider that Cale played entirely in the 50 game era, with the exception of one season. Effectively winning two full seasons worth of games. Cale Amundsen was also named the best goalie in the league twice and won the Esa Anrikaken award for best rookie and of course won the four star cup with the team in S55. Cale Amundsen eventually also had his number retired and was inducted in the Zerk hall of fame. The next player is Mats Marner who scored a fucking shit ton of points during his time with the Zerks. Marner played a whopping 5 seasons with the club and served as a leader during many of those seasons. Marner ended his career scoring 141 points which turned out to be roughly .72 points per game. one of the all time greatest numbers in SMJHL history and of course he was a member of the S55 Four Star Cup Winning team and he went to the four star cup in S56. At the end of his career, his number was also retired by Newfoundland.
Okay that's NL's brief history through like S56 and there is so much more to tell. But that's for another day I guess. Word count: 834 16 points.

When I think about SHL goals.. I don't really know where to start. On the site, I really don't have too many goals except to continue maintaining my player's progress & keeping up with tasking. I don't have any particular interest in the forums or anything like that & I don't think that's likely to change. For my player, I guess I'm hopeful that Loosh O'Sullivan can become a top tier center in the SHL if I stick with it. I believe his build, which is very focused on strong decision-making and playmaking, whether its positionally or on the puck, has been pretty good in the SMJHL so far and I expect that to continue as continues to grow as a player. I will say that, while I don't care too much about activity on the forums or anything like that, it doesn't mean I'm uninterested in Loosh O'Sullivan's journey.

For feedback, I'll start by addressing this proposed format. I'm a fan of removing a word count limit and instead giving people the opportunity to complete tasking to whatever degree they feel is sensible. That said, if this increases the amount of effort people have to put in to keep up with achieving the maximum amount of TPE possible, I think that's overall net negative. As someone who's trying to maximize the TPE I gain without being overwhelmed, I certainly feel that increasing the amount of work it takes to achieve that would be pretty upsetting. Regarding the tasks we were given this season, I think they've mostly been fine. I would like it if the tasking guided you to begin to tell a story/develop a character for your player. I think that's currently possible, but my hesitancy lies with how I'll get graded & how that may impact my player's development.
Prompt: An Alternate Timeline WC: 105 (+2 TPE)
If Loosh O'Sullivan weren't a member of the Great Falls Grizzlies, I think he would've fit best on the Quebec City Citadelles. Aside from it's interesting name, great color scheme, and cool logo, I believe Loosh would perform well with the amount of winger depth they have. It certainly helps that they were a juggernaut team this season & have found their way to the finals, and it would have been very interested to be able to write about Sophie Bordeleau as a teammate. Still though, I think Loosh could've added something to the Citadelles given how his rookie season went, so they're my choice.
Prompt: What's In A Name WC: 210 (+4 TPE)
Picking out the best names filtered by points, the very first name that sticks out is Banana NWaffles. For starters, that sounds like a pretty powerful food combo, but to put that together to make an interesting name definitely deserves major points. Next has got to be Nibbles the Squirrel. Nibbles would not only make for a wonderful pet name, but I know I'd be ecstatic to get a Nibbles the Squirrel card out of a pack, especially if the render is a squirrel. It'd feel like I packed my own little pet. The next name that sticks out to me is Perry Theplatypus. As someone who watched quite a bit of Phineas and Ferb in his early teens, I have a strong attachment to the pet/secret agent Perry the Platypus and I'm happy to see him entering another career aside from being a pet and spy. Hopefully he can climb to great heights in hockey (when he's not having to deal with Doofenshmirtz.) My last pick for great names is a teammate of Loosh's, Awcrap Ihavethepuck. Awcrap Ihavethepuck is wonderful because it is reflective of anxiety that would not enable you to make it the top. That said, on pure irony alone I'd love to see him become insane.

For this prompt, I'll go ahead and speak to Loosh O'Sullivan's personal superstition. Early in his hockey career, he was a complete dud. However, before one game he accidentally peed on his hands while he was in a rush trying to get to the ice. Since then, he's always peed on his hands prior to games (though nowadays he washes them after completing his ritual.)
