RE: S76 PT #0: For Chirps and Wiggles - Vandy - 04-01-2024 When you're a hockey player in Newfoundland, no one recognizes you because everyone plays the 'beautiful game'. That is unless of course you're a member of the hometown team. As the son of a retired SHL player, my player learned first hand how some players are toward their fans. His father always took the time out for any fan who sought him out, signed autographs, took selfies. He wasn't the most popular or recognized player on Buffalo or Winnipeg or Edmonton but he always made the effort. That effort and watching his father do that led Vandy Jr to do the same, always take time out for the fans. Take a selfie, sign a puck, chit chat for a few minutes. As a player you are an ambassador of your team on and off the ice and its important that even if the casual fan doesn't remember the game, that their experience and interaction with you lasts a lifetime. RE: S76 PT #0: For Chirps and Wiggles - CapnCooper - 04-01-2024 Written option 1 One day during the off season, Boots gets a text message from the social media team for the Renegades asking him for some input. "We think it would be great if you could get more involved with the fans through social media! Create a meme or something to get fans hyped up and ready for the game! Let them know you're ready for the game and on their level! It'll be fun!" Boots isn't really one for social media but has some younger teammates help him out. With the help of Patrice Bergeron, known as lil Berg in the locker room, Boots gets a chirped account set up and is ready to engage the fans. Right away he sees great and loyal fans admiring them But also sees the terrible full of hate haters just taking a piece out of them every day. Boots doesn't really want to say much. But instead decides on making something to spread. Something that will drown out all the bad words that leave a bad taste in your mouth and can just spread like wildfire. But not emoji, that would be too simple. After getting lil' Berg to help him reset his password because he forgot it already, Boots makes the one single post that would take off and be seen every game day from here on out: ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀ ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⣾⣶⣤⣀⣀⣤⣶⣷⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀ ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⣸⣿⣿⣿⣿⣿⣿⣿⣿⣇⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀ ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠰⣿⣿⣿⣿⣿⣿⣿⣿⣿⣿⠆⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀ ⠀⣾⣷⣶⣶⣶⣦⣤⠀⢤⣤⣈⣉⠙⠛⠛⠋⣉⣁⣤⡤⠀⣤⣴⣶⣶⣶⣾⣷⠀ ⠀⠈⠻⢿⣿⣿⣿⣿⣶⣤⣄⣉⣉⣉⣛⣛⣉⣉⣉⣠⣤⣶⣿⣿⣿⣿⡿⠟⠁⠀ ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠉⠙⠛⠛⠿⠿⠿⢿⣿⣿⣿⣿⡿⠿⠿⠿⠛⠛⠋⠉⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀ ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⡀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⢀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀ ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⢿⣷⠦⠄⢀⣠⡀⠠⣄⡀⠠⠴⣾⡿⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⣀⡀⠀ ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⢤⣤⣴⣾⣿⣿⣷⣤⣙⣿⣷⣦⣤⡤⠀⠴⠶⠟⠛⠉⠀⠀ ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠙⢿⣿⣿⣿⣿⣿⣿⣿⣿⣿⠏⠀⠺⣷⣄⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀ ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⢈⣙⣛⣻⣿⣿⣿⡿⠃⠐⠿⠿⣾⣿⣷⡄⠀⠀⠀ ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠘⣿⣿⣿⣿⠿⠋⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠈⠁⠀⠀⠀ ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠹⣿⣿⣿⣾⠇⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀ ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠙⠛⠛⠋⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀ That's right. ASCII is back! Let's go Renegades! RE: S76 PT #0: For Chirps and Wiggles - droop - 04-01-2024 Chuck likes to split his time between preparation for the next season and relaxation. Once the season wrapped up he headed home to relax with family in New York (upstate, not the city). While here, to keep his cardio up he skated with the local semi-pro team. During these skates he would always save time afterwards to sign autographs for fans who would come watch the daily skates. He would make sure to limit the number of autographs though as to make sure he did not devalue his signature (he said this 100% sarcastically, of course). Aside from daily practice skates with the local team he would revisit his favorite childhood restaurants as eating was almost as fun as playing hockey, maybe better depending on the day. Occasionally he would be approached by fans during his meals which would always spark joy in his family who still cannot get over the minor amount of fame he has garnished. RE: S76 PT #0: For Chirps and Wiggles - leafsftw1967 - 04-01-2024 Written Option 2: During the off season Slava Ukraini Heroyam Slava ended up spending some time in Peru exploring the country for three weeks. During these three weeks Slava Ukraini first went to Lima where he did a city tour learning the rich history of the country since it was colonized by the Spanish. He also went surfing in the Pacific Ocean and got a lot of great seafood at the Peruvian restaurants. Next stop for Slava Ukraini was to go to Cusco where he started a seven day trek through the sacred valley and inca trail on his way to Machu Pichu. Slava Ukraini Heroyam Slava saw this trek as a pilgrimage where he would be mentally and physically challenged through the ninety kilometers of mountain biking, rock climbing and hiking. He would be out of his comfort zone tenting in the jungle and mountains but it was exactly what he needed to disconnect from the busyness of an athletes every day life during the season. She learned English, learned how to be less aggressive and understood what she could mean to fans and young girls playing hockey. She’s no role model, but she is much less anxious playing that role. She has an A on her jersey, which means a lot to her, and what she must do on the ice, in the locker room, and outside the arena. So yeah, she’ll reserve three hours and pens to go outside. She will talk to fans without screaming at them or threatening to kill them. She will accept criticism, that fans expect better from her, and will even talk about it. Last season was not easy for her, she seemed to have stopped playing defensively mid-season, and the Platoon did suffer from this. Baltimore is much bigger than Kelowna, or her small Russian village, so it took her a lot of time to prepare for this. He doesn't have to take any precautions or disguise himself since the few interactions he does have always been positive thus far. Even when he travels elsewhere to more populated areas, he can fortunately take the time to meet and greed each and every fan that happens to recognize him. Obviously as his career progresses and he becomes more well-known in the world this individual and special treatment for each fan will have to end eventually, but as a very new member of professional sim hockey he still has the freedom of relative obscurity. The fans are essentially the people who pay his salary, so he plans to enjoy interacting with fans as much as possible while he still can to make sure they keep supporting the SHL/SMJHL with their enthusiasm for the sport. RE: S76 PT #0: For Chirps and Wiggles - Dextaria - 04-02-2024 Option 2 In the offseason, Ryosuke Sato really likes to relax and spend time with family. He spends so much time working hard on the ice and spending time with the team that he does not get as much of an opportunity to see his family back home in Japan. And so, this season Ryosuke flew back to spend time with them and have a lot of good homey meals. However, in addition to travelling back home, Sato understands it is also a time to go out and have fun so Sato decided to go venture to San Francisco this offseason despite being there before. He saw some many new things and tried so much good food that he has tried before, but it is always different in a new location. And so, he really took this time to relax and spend time with people he does not usually see to get all refreshed for the coming season. RE: S76 PT #0: For Chirps and Wiggles - NUCK - 04-02-2024 Option 2 During the season 76 off season, Will Nuck decided to stay in Maine while.he worked on his game.for.the following season. This proved to be a bit more problematic then first anticipated, mainly due to the teams success over the last decade and their conference final appearance this last spring. The recent run of success has turned Maine fans wild for their team and the rookie defender was no different in the eyes of the fans. He was now a minny celebrity among the ordinary folks you see walking the streets. Fans of all ages would stop the young man no matter where he was or what he happened to be doing. This was all and good in Nuck's eyes but it did make life outside the rink a bit harder then he would have liked. Simple tasks like walking his dog or going to the car wash drew a crowd of fans looking for autographs or pictures. RE: S76 PT #0: For Chirps and Wiggles - Salming - 04-02-2024 Task 2: William Salming is not afraid to meet fans if he runs them in the market square. He lives just like a normal person and goes to places he wants to go. He is a polite player who is fine to take as many selfies as needed and write as many autographs as needed. Why? Because he has learned that habit from a famous Teemu Selanne who always has time for the fans. Why? Because in the end, they pay your salary. Without fans there is no professional sports. Without fans there is only amateur sports. So, Salming likes to give his time for the fans if they want to. He enjoys chatting with them and put a smile on theirs faces. He just don't stay at home because he can rest also on the public places. He is a player who has always time for the fans like his agent and mentor has taught him to have. All in all, other people don't affect Salming's habits. She's hardly famous enough yet to have fans there, and is fluent in Norwegian, which meant that her main concern was less running into fans of her own, and more running into any fans of her teammates while out with them. It can be kind of awkward having to translate autograph of selfie requests, but she did anyways. Of course, after that, she was back in the states, and specifically San Diego. Most of the city was hyped with the announcement of their new expansion team, which lead to a significant increase in attention on SMJHL players, and Alexa soon found out her especially. She could hardly go anywhere in public without being accosted by at least one person asking her if she would be coming home to join the new San Diego Tidal. If it was awkward to translate autograph requests, it was even more so to tell her hometown that no, she was not going to be playing for them, leading to her spending most of her time at home. RE: S76 PT #0: For Chirps and Wiggles - ec06aaj - 04-02-2024 Option 1: Simo refuses to take part in the first iteration of this scheme because it stipulated "friendly takeover" and he doesn't do that. No no, when Simo takes over the SHL Chirper account for a night it's a night where no holds are barred and no aspect of idiot fans go un-insulted. Frequent attack lines from disgruntled fans include Simo's low offensive output ("lmao they dont pay me to score, the only one here who tries to score and cant is u at the bar every night") and the perceived weakening and softness the SHL has adopted with the phasing out of fights (to which Simo replies by chirping gifs of crushing hits from the last season, normally adding words to the effect of "oh yeh this looks mega weak u dumbass"). The SHL are regretting the agreement within 20 minutes of takeover; unfortunately, Simo, his agent and members of the Falcons PR staff were very clear about ensuring he'd have an uninterrupted 4 hours to work and would not be punished after the fact. |
