RE: S78 SMJHL PT #0: New Places - KanameRei - 08-11-2024 Walking into the locker room for the first time was an unforgettable experience for Ela Solberg. The atmosphere buzzed with excitement and anticipation, and her new teammates made her feel like she was already part of the family. As soon as she stepped in, they greeted her with warm smiles and heartfelt congratulations on being drafted. Her jersey was hanging in her locker, with "Solberg" proudly displayed on the back. Seeing it there was surreal, a powerful reminder of the journey ahead. As Ela looked around, she noticed photos of past cup runs pinned to the walls, but one image caught her eye. A picture of her older sisters celebrating a big win, their smiles full of pride. Seeing them up there reminded her of the legacy she was stepping into. It was inspiring and a bit intimidating, knowing the high expectations of wearing this jersey. After some introductions and a quick tour, Ela and the other rookies headed to Denny’s. It is a team tradition to celebrate this exciting new chapter together. RE: S78 SMJHL PT #0: New Places - Jayba1t - 08-12-2024 As Chaos Giraffe's name was called by the Thunder Bay Walleye, he knew it be something HISTORIC. He would be the first pick ever in Walleye history, at 13th overall. After some very productive scouting conversations, Giraffe knew that he would find Thunder Bay to be an amazing team and location to play in. As his plane landed in from Seattle, he was greeted by Walleye GM @yosh. He enjoyed his chats with him and also had some previous friends that had crossed paths with yosh. Specifically it was a long time friend Center Max Manning that noted that yosh was great. Aside from that other members on the Walleye and management welcomed home in. Making his way to his locker, he saw the purple and gold sweater hanging, waiting for him. GIRAFFE as the back said. #57. The team was waiting for him, and Giraffe now looks to make a big impact in his first season. |
