Markus Meliodas: The Randleman Can

Markus Meliodas absolutely adores Randy Randleman. Like beyond normal levels of looking up to someone. He has gigabytes of saved video and on his computer of the Veteran SHL Superstar's career for viewing purposes. He has tried to emulate pretty much every part of his game as his own. And we're not just talking about his hockey game, we're talking bout his pickup/Tinder game as well. It's just as raunchy.

Now looking at the game of hockey: Meliodas projects to be a top-flight Center who can score the puck just as well as he can knock your lights out by throwing the body. Size and strength and an uncanny ability to put the puck in net.

Much like Randleman; Meliodas is a better scorer than passer but all-around he possesses extreme offensive talent. Couple that with his size and strength and you have a stud, erm I mean beast. I mean sexy beast.

Meliodas is all Swedish and lots of finish, in more ways than one. Meliodas is hoping the Calgary Dragons take notice of him so he can learn from and meet his mentor. He wants to learn all the ways of the Randleman and learn how to be an awful human being and amazing sexy beast of a hockey player.

The SHL seems to be so far away for me. I just joined the SMJHL league and I feel like I'm a very weak defencemen compared to some of the shl players in the league. Like Ben Dover on the Hamilton Steelhawks and he has: 1,686 TPE. I only have a measly 211 TPE. Our strengths are very similar but he has a more offensive build as scoring is one of his strength. His weakness is checking which makes sense since he's more of an offensive defensemen. Even though it's his weakness, his checking is at 71 and thats higher than some of my strengths like skating which is at 64. Of course, he has been in the league for a very long time but he has been my goal since I found out about him from one of his teamates, NourFFAK. He told me that Ben Dover is an amazing defencemen and he is in the top 10 defencemen in the SHL at the moment. I strive to be that good and help my team with whatever they might need. I'm two-way only because I can play both offensively and defensively depending on whatever my team may need. First things first, I need more Tpe to upgrade my player.

While Adam Kaiser is an offensive kind of defensive player, I am emulating my play after him. My brother played with him and even won a cup with him. In my opinion, that narrative doesn’t happen unless Kaiser is present. Just ask my brother.

With that being said, my focus is on passing, skating, and puck handling. I will let the forwards take care of the rest. I have a strong defensive mind that will only continue to grow and those are the aspects of my game that needs the most work.

We all have to start somewhere but watching Adam Kaiser play is a thing of beauty. He’s all over the place and even though he’s been here for what seems like a century, he’s just getting started. The guy is a stud in every sense and if I can become half the player he is some day, I will be in good shape. He is a monster with the pass and he knows how to set up big plays. There are some things that can be taught in this game but there are some intangibles you either have or you don’t. Kaiser will go down as one of the best of all time if he sticks it out, so there is no one better the emulate.

When I was looking at building TJ Bayley, I definitely want to be a scorer, a pure scorer. So when I was looking into being a scorer, there were a few things in which I know I needed to do. I will need to skate well, have good puck handling skills, and of course, look to score. Now, when I was looking at comparable people that I really would love to be like, look no further than LW - EDUARD SELICH. I think he is a great example of exactly the type of player in which I would love to build.

SK = Skating: 90
PH = Puck Handling: 90
SC = Scoring: 95

Those three categories are the categories in which I am looking to build myself.

SK = Skating: 75
PH = Puck Handling: 71
SC = Scoring: 86

This is what I have currently, but I am looking to build more of those three categories. I think by building them, I certainly will be a better player and look to accomplish the player I want to be. I think there is a lot of work to do, but this is where I am now and as I build my player, there will be a lot of growth. This is the goal and this is how I will get there.

You aren't an SMJHL draftee though
