Imagine a grounds crew bringing in a huge block of ice to the press conference, without explanation.
Then, a hulking person in plate armor carrying a greatsword walks slowly, ominously, toward the ice. They swing their sword down, splitting the ice in half. Inside is a sparkling gem that reveals the press release via suncatcher projection.

For the Pride, the reasonable thing to do is to drive 400 miles down to Disneyland where, presumably, they have a replica of Pride Rock from the Lion King. Then at sunrise, the new player(s) is held up by the front office to the cheering Pride fans below. As a bonus, players getting released go through the same ceremony except they get thrown off instead of lifted up.

Edmonton only announces hirings and signings in the depths of winter and only in Blizzards for the most authentic experience. Any player and staff who survived the the experience prove the within of their signing.

The Argonauts make every new free agent or prospect sail with the team and the team will judge them on their abilities to successfully operate the boat before they are allowed to sign the contract. The Argos will then land on a random beach in the area and announce to the locals that the signing has occurred. It is never the same beach and it is never announced or planned beforehand.

Hamilton could announce new signings by being simple silent about them and then audience would see new guys when they are hit the ice in the warm-ups under first game of the season. That would be exciting.

The Texas Renegades ride a wagon train through town with folks shooting their pistols into the air (blanks, of course) like an old school train robbery. The new recruits are in one of the wagons in handcuffs and the Renegades break them out.

My team could announce their signings by flying an airplane over the skyline of Philadelphia with the player's name on it. Or they could just do it in a press conference or social media post.
