I don't think this has really happened before. Players have stated they'll only play for one team, but none of them were the GM of that team. Sure Storm only wanted to go to NEW, but wasn't GM, he wanted to go there because that's where his last player played.
If a player other than Samee was in this position, no one would have done it. There's no benefit to doing it, you're not going to gain anything from it, you just look like an asshole. NEW never would have got a 1st, and probably not even a good 2nd. Samee is the GM, and he'd do the best for his team, which is to not give up assets. And definitely not to the team that just pissed him off.
