Luffy, who is currently in his fourth SMJHL season and if you haven't heard about him, you should really be paying attention to the league more. The Lethbridge Lions' captain sits at 746 TPE (honestly, why are you still in the SMJHL?) and who knows how much higher this number will be when he ©enters the SHL in Buffalo. TPE alone don't mean much if we don't match them with stats. Between season 45 (15G - 16A - 31P) and 46 (17G - 21A - 38P) Luffy became his team's top point producer. However, his numbers stagnated a little between season 46 and season 47. That's not what people would've expected, but at least his goal production went up - 21G - 17A - 38P. The question is: can he finally reach 25 goals or will he slow down? I'll say his (hopefully) final season in the SMJHL will be his best and you should not forget about him on draft day. Some players just need a little longer. @TnlAstatine RE: S48 PT #1 - SHL Draft Kit S48 - BWIII - 06-19-2019 PBE PT RE: S48 PT #1 - SHL Draft Kit S48 - MrStennett - 06-19-2019 PBE PT Affiliation RE: S48 PT #1 - SHL Draft Kit S48 - hhh81 - 06-19-2019 Quote:SHL Dynasty report: If you’re looking to get the best bang for your buck in keeper leagues, this is the year to grab Buffalo Stampede defenseman Cassius Darrow. The second year pro had an outstanding preseason, where he put up 4 goals and 22 points in heavily limited minutes on the third pairing. It’s no secret that the Stampede’s defense is among the deepest in the entire league, and Darrow is a huge part of that. As Alexis Metzler @Avakael and Charles Walker @Zombiewolf continue to regress into different roles, it will be Darrow that steps into a larger role. From his preseason performance, it’s clear he’s ready. Despite playing only 14.11 minutes per game, Darrow’s 0.62 P/20 ranked sixth on the team, ahead of standouts like Hippo Passamus, Oliver Konig, and star defender Tatu Makela @WannabeFinn. He also contributed in other ways with a +9 rating, 47 blocked shots, a +13 hit differential, and a relatively disciplined game (14 PIMs). He did all this with minimal special teams minutes (44 total PP/PK minutes on the season). Within the next season or two, expect Darrow to supplant his aging teammates and take on a larger role for the contending Stampede. This player, not only shares the responsibilities of general manger for the Militia with @BarnabasCollins but was season 47 Captain of Montreal as well. He currently gave up his captaincy rights to let the Militia vote on a new Captain and Alternates as it looked like he was going to get called up to the Stampede. It appears that Buffalo is so stacked with a roster full of TPE earners that Svensson will play for Montreal in season 48 but could be called up at any moment. It is apparent that he would be a first or second line player in another organization already but the idea of being part of a stacked team might be worth the wait and longer seasons in the minors. Svensson had a strong performance in the pre-season and is already off to a very strong start with the Militia. He has 4 goals and 6 assists for a 3 way tie of 10 points total on the team but we expect him to eventually take the lead. In season 47 he led the team with a total of 45 points with 16 goals and 29 assists. If he can keep the current pace he is on he should break this mark if he plays the full season with the Militia. An interesting statistic is his hit to getting hit ratio. Last season he got rocked getting hit 104 times and only dishing out 26 hits! That is exactly a 4 to 1 ratio but didn't seem to slow him down! Obviously he has been working out in the gym and on this part of his game and his is currently on a 3 to 1 ratio getting hit 23 times to giving out 8 hits. Not something that he or his team likes but once again it is an improvement and it isn't slowing his production down! As long as this player keeps putting in the time and effort he will one day be a super star for the Stampede. However, it is clear that he could be a star anywhere he wants to go. I, for one, would love to see him in the purple of New Orleans! RE: S48 PT #1 - SHL Draft Kit S48 - dmills3 - 06-19-2019 Code: SMJHL prospects to draft and stash: The SMJHL is currently jam packed full of young, up-and-coming talent. I will take a look at a few of my favorite prospects from the SMJHL for you to keep tabs on on their path to the SHL. Max Rockatansky
The Los Angeles draft pick and current Anaheim Outlaw, Max Rockatansky had a great preseason putting up 44 points and a +17 in 50 games. Rockatansky also shot a whopping 17.07% on 123 shots to give him 21 goals.
Olivier Cloutier
2 words: Olivier Cloutier. Anaheim's Cloutier was tied for the lead in points during the preseason with 56(!), all while leading the league in shots with 213, 15 shots more than second place. If you're in a keeper league, Cloutier would be a great player to stash for the season.
Aaron Wilson
The captain for the Vancouver Whalers has emerged to a number 1 center for the team taking over for Borromini Cannellini in both aspects. The Hamilton draft pick will look to keep up his point-per-game pace (51 points in 50 games) he had during the preseason to lead.
RE: S48 PT #1 - SHL Draft Kit S48 - Troy_McClure03 - 06-20-2019 Bold SHL predictions: This article discusses some of our boldest predictions about the upcoming S48 season. While the preseason seemed to show the Winnipeg Jets are at their best, the best that they have been in seasons, the bold prediction is they get off to a slow start and barley get it together in time for the playoffs. They currently sit with an even record, losing as many games as they won, putting them in a 5 way tie with the Calgary Dragons, San Francisco Pride, Los Angles Panthers, and Texas Renegades. If you count the Eastern Conference, they are one of 6 teams with a 50% win rate. This trend will continue until game 22, when the Jets will go on a 6 game win streak, followed by a 4 games of trading wins and losses, before going on a 2 wins per loss tear until a 5 game winning streak into the playoffs. I base this entirely on the fact that we did something very similar in the preseason. Also, I think Hamilton will miss the playoffs. Looking at the mock drafts it seems that most people expect Borromini Cannellini to be a lock, but when we're looking at the preseason stats, I'm not so sure. While Borromini Cannellini had very decent numbers (12 goals and 17 assists), he was trailing the following players: Jimmy Slothface - ![]() Jimmy Slothface scored 17 goals and had 14 assists for a total of 31 points while playing on the third line for the New Orleans Specters. He's definitely a player to look out for on a strong Specters team. Goals: 14 Assists: 17 Poiints: 31 Akashi SixNine - ![]() With 4 goals and 28 assists the rookie defender of the Tampa Bay Barracuda had an exceptional good preseason. Tampa Bay has a young roster with many rookies that could potentially win the rookie of the year, but SixNine stood out from the rest during preseason. Goals: 4 Assists: 28 Points: 32 Matt Kholin - ![]() Another rookies from the Tampa Barracuda who had an amazing preseason. Matt Kholin had 41 points! Yes, 41 during the preseason. Goals: 14 Assists: 27 Poiints: 41 Outsiders Some outsiders to look out for.

RE: S48 PT #1 - SHL Draft Kit S48 - tedlamotors - 06-20-2019 Code: Bold SHL predictions: The Minnesota Chiefs can sustain the success they've had in preseason and will be out of the basement this year. Woah, woah, woah, I know. Last season was god awful, and they were disadvantaged with the whole tampering thing. That said, there's still some talent on this team. Wingers Bobby Watson and Terrance Nova are nice to have for any team, and get to help rookie Collin Gibbles mold himself into the player he was last season for the cup-winning Anaheim Outlaws. Eric Pelletier centering a line featuring those two will mean production from him, as well. Eero Niemi was 7th in P/20 and 9th in points ammassed by RWs, which is impressive given his line deployment. Offensively, the mix of depth isn't that bad. Moving onto their d-core, Ti-Guy Emond is an incredible player, being able to shut down the opposition's top 6 forwards and has the energy to do that consistently. The pair of Emond and Geoff Moore should also make things easier for rookie Mathias Seger, another talented Anaheim Outlaw product. And to fill out the rest of their bottom 4 is Dwayne Wider, Caelan Fearghal, and Louisa Koller. Those guys have held their own, chipping in with some points and just about breaking even +/- wise. However, should the d-core falter, no worries. Sebastien Primeau is more than a reliable tendy. Facing 1598 shots in his 50 GP (31.96 shots/game), he's joint-2nd in sv% at .913, joint-5th in GAA at 2.73, joint-2nd in shutouts at 4, joint-2nd in wins with 30, and was a 1st star 10 times. Overall, this team certainly isn't bad, and the Chiefs might see a playoff appearance this season. Mike Izzy is a stud and tends to take home that award, but Chicago looks positioned to give CCII a strong chance at that award. #2: Manhattan will miss the playoffs this season. They barely squeaked in last year and made some strides, but I think that New England will edge them out of the race and end up taking the last spot in the playoffs. #3: Winnipeg won't do as well as preseason, they'll come in at #3. New Orleans will regain their rightful spot as #1 in their conference, they're too good of a team not to. Don't tell me that "well pre-season showed different" because STHS is voodoo, you could be #1 in pre-season and not even make the playoffs. |
