Yeah I know that's the reasoning, I just don't really agree with it. Most bannings don't come out of nowhere, teams usually know what they are getting themselves into either by acquiring a problematic player or by not doing enough to curb his antics when he is already on the team. Hell often times they get these players for cheap precisely because of these issues. If a team isn't really interested in changing that persons behaviour or not able to then they don't deserve any extra sympathy from the league as far as I'm concerned - in fact, they might've even encouraged that person and sent the signal that he was doing was okay by putting up with him for so long.

I completely see your point. However, especially in this case, all public posts by STL members were encouraging him to continue posting the way he did. They knew what they were getting with Rush, and they egged him on. Given that he was maybe 180 tpe, I'm pretty sure STL could pick up an IFA with more and move on. I've also heard a rumor that STL has asked to be compensated a late draft pick for how this went down, if that's true it's absolutely fucking ridiculous.
