Option 2: After three full seasons in the SMJHL, Nor is doing fine with the media aspect, but it’s definitely something he had to learn along the way. At the beginning of his career, Nor wanted the media appearance to go as fact as he could go, because it was really shy when it came to talking with the media. He used to give really short answers and then, on the way back home, he used to think about all the things he wishes he could have said. These days, Nor takes his time and try to give thorough answers to the questions he gets asked. It also helps that the people who are covering the team are the same one that have been covering for all his time here, which means Nor has had the time to speak to these people without being recorded and he got to know these journalists pretty well and understand better what they want from him during the interviews.

Written Option 2

The phrase "media darling" could almost have been coined for Emil Karlsson of the Montreal Patriotes. A man who positively adores being in the limelight, Emil looks for any opportunity to speak to reporters and the media about anything he can, oftentimes about nothing to do with hockey at all. Emil understands the way the game works, and is aware that the more eyeballs he can get on what he's doing, the more likely he is to obtain lucrative financial rewards as a result of brand and endorsement deals, or further media opportunities. With this in mind, Emil will often proactively reach out to the media to arrange opportunities to speak to them, and has been known to have close relationships with prominent media figures in order to control and curate the image that is put out of him to the public. While some players shy away from the media spotlight, Emil embraces it and knows that he needs to work very hard in this area in order to put forward the best possible image of himself.

Written Option 1:
Earl is known to push the envelope with people. His teammates all know this and his GM. However, he went too far by putting a picture of his GMs feet all over the locker room and now he got stuck the maintenance duties with two other teammates. Earl and his teammates were not about to change any lightbulbs when they make good money playing in the J. So, the three of them hired out contractors to do the work while they sat around and drank beer and ate microwaved hotdogs. When their GM came in that next morning, he noticed all the lights had been changed to LED’s. Impressed the three players got the lights finished in one day he went looking for them. He found them sitting in lawn chairs in the Zamboni area passed out drunk. He kicked them and screamed “wake up you three!”. Earl jumped up first with a huge grin on his face while the other two slowly sat up gritting their teeth from the headache they developed from all the alcohol in their blood. The GM said “you boys know you can’t be drinking at the arena like this right?” Earl said “we know bossman but we were just celebrating our hard work with the lights and got carried away it won’t happen again”. Little did the GM know they didn’t do anything but sit and get hammered the whole night. What a con artist Earl is. They all high fived as the GM left the room and laughed their asses off.

@Fluw I hope you like my story about you being mad at me.

Option 1:

Beck angered the GM by giving up all his leadership duties and becoming a husk of his former self. While still being on the team, he decided that he would not longer be in the center of all the activity. By taking a step back, the GM decided to put him to other uses by replacing all the lights. Beck welcomed the challenge. Instead of doing it the regular way, whatever that would have looked like, Beck decided to use a hot air balloon strapped to his back to float up to the top to replace the bulbs. He had all the replacement bulbs on a string tied to the balloon so he could access them. The old lights he just dropped to the ground with a warning "look out below!" One or two of them were close to hitting someone, but close doesn't count in hockey. The new stadium lights are bright and shining, with a bold aurora tint to them.

After the sad last playoff game of Season 78 I went together with my family back to europe and had some nice quiet days. With so many former SHL Members in the bag it was easy to teach me what is to do first after a hard end. After 4-5 weeks we visited our campaign that helps other humans in germany to have better chance to make a good sports career. We work together with basketball, soccer and many other sport stars and their families. It is one of many projects we run as the McZehrl Foundation. I love at most to travel to africa and help there humans to survive this bad and hard life they have. We dont want to throw out only the money, no! We also want to help them with our humanpower and built houses, schools, kindergarden, playgrounds, large kitchens and most importantly, fountains. We detest these machinations of the world's major corporations and their purchase of water resources in Africa. We are trying everything we can to counteract this. Back in America the preparation for the new season began and so I am ready once again to fight for my team for the best team performance we can bring together.

Robo Sven is known to talk way too much sometimes, and one of his favorite things to do is to talk about LED bulbs vs incandescent bulbs. It turns out that most people don't actually care about the difference between the two, and the more people have to hear about it, the more unhappy they get. Robo Sven was firing off rapid fire facts about LED bulbs vs incandescent bulbls, like: "Did you know that incandescent bulbs have a relatively short lifespan, typically around 1,000 hours, while LED bulbs have a lifespan ranging from 25,000 to 50,000 hours or even more?" or "LEDs operate at an impressive 80-90% efficiency, emitting light and generating minimal heat, while incandescents lose 80-90% of their energy as heat, making them only 10-20% efficient." His coaches got sick of listening to him talk about light bulbs all day and couldn't possibly care less, so they finally just told him to install it himself if he cared about it so much, which he gladly did.

Written Option 2:

Hockey season is back and the media is all over the players to try and see what they can obtain from their mouths. Even worse, they are all over Yuri Boyka III because he recently got traded to the Colorado Raptors from being a Nevada Battleborn for 3 seasons. Even crazier is the fact that Boyka III is switching his role to a defender to help the team out since they are weak on the back end of the ice. All media is on Boyka III and he is trying to just avoid all of them. He is a more secretive player in reality and doesn't like much media attention. He prefers to be by himself and do the training as required. Nike and Adidas came to Boyka III for sponsorship but he ignored both and just said a few words to the media. All he said was "I am a Raptor now and I will do my best in my new role". He then vanished from the premises before any other marketing campaign approached him

Jennifer doesn’t mind going in front of the media. Being both an idol and a hockey player, shes always in front of the camera doing interviews and talking to the press. For her, she would rather deal with hockey media versus kpop media since the hockey ones tend to be nicer to her. Jen is as big of a part of the Calgary marketing campaigns as the Dragons want her to be. With her work in Le Sserafim, she is a global icon as well, so she has more reach than many of the average SHL players. She also is part of any brand marketing campaigns as well. She has her fashion sponsorships with Le Sserafim, but she also has brand deals with the Dragons that she models for and does advertisements for. After a tough loss, Jen is also one of the players Calgary likes to give interviews, since she is good at staying positive and spinning it to the media.

Option 2.
Oh the true parasites of the league. The upper brass seem to think that it is important to get these media sessions in so that the "normal folks" feel like they can understand us and they will like us, but making us talk to these information gatekeeping snakes is just horse crap. They all have their agendas and they will do whatever they feel best to spin the story their way. Nathaniel would much rather interact with fans a different way, whether that is some kind of charity event, or fan gathering. Hell, sometimes he will go before the game if it's a big one just to hang out with the fans directly outside the rink. The media are an absolute scourge. A bane on the league and just stand in the way between people making a really nice living playing a game they love and fans who are getting wrung out to dry at every step of the way. $300 plus for a jersey now? This crap is all connected and bullshit.

Option 2:

Honestly, Teddy Bloos' situation is interesting. The reality is that niche penalty killers aren't nearly flashy enough to be a coveted big time media star. He's not a bad player per se, but it's clear that the team has other players that are far more compelling, like Puddles O'Duckling, an outstanding power forward, as well as a star studded goaltender in Grant Berd.

However, Teddy has one big thing going for him that has caused the media to really pick up steam in the Thunder Bay hockey community. Indeed, you see, Teddy was drafted in the first round by the Tampa Bay Barracuda over the off-season. A first round pick to come out of the inaugural draft class of the Walleye is a big deal, and this has caused some more hype around him as he returns for his sophomore campaign in the SMJHL. It has taken some getting used to, but Teddy is just focused on doing the job and helping the team out with his no nonsense style of hockey.

Option 2

Spotlight come with the job. As a top player on a hockey team, you should be aware that you have some pressure on you to perform.
The Scarecrows are on a retool mode as a lot of good players left the team in the off season so the team in general don't have a pressure to win the Cup, but we should be doing a bit better than that and that rely on the vets in the team.
It got a bit better in the last sim, but a slow start hurt us a bit. Hopefully with the rookies we have we can make a come back in the standings.

I was not a high pick in the SHL draft so I think there will not be too much spotlight on me next season when I will enter my rookie season with Texas. Maybe that will help me get more focus on my game and not worrying about the outside elements of the game. We will have to wait for this!

RE: S79 PT #1: All Of The Lights - Vandy - 10-18-2024

Well as I have said in nearly every single prompt in the last few seasons, my GM so happens to be my player's father. Angering them isn't easy to do and I don't think they would sentence me to 'changing all of the lights' by myself. To be honest I would like to think my player would volunteer. It's like, work a day in the shoes of someone to see what their job is like before you criticize them so to speak. My player wants to be a leader and that means doing all of the jobs for the team from taking tickets to serving food and yes even changing the lights in the arena to LED. It's the little things that separate the leaders from those just along for the ride, nothing against those folks but its always important to show everyone in the franchise from the top guys to those starting today that they matter.

When we win, we all win.
