Allow me to reintroduce myself:
So I am andybj. I’ve been around S20 and am a free agent. No that is not a mistake on the free agent list. I am a complete and total free agent. So let me explain my wants and then my thoughts on each team.
So first here are my wants:
I love Hockey, I really do but I no longer have the best friend that I shared hockey with. So to be honest my interest has dwindled a bit and am looking to reunite it. (I am a Devils fan so that won’t change)
I am a gamer but not a legit gamer. I have a mac and have never had an opportunity to PC game. I have a PS4 that I share and share an account with my ex (who doesn’t use it). I mostly want to game on switch and want to play Overwatch with people when it comes to switch. I am also down to play other games on switch as it is my console of choice.
I am not super old but I am a bit older. I am post college/ university life so I am not a super bro or anything. I do like to hang out and chill and all that jazz but I don’t use that hip young lingo some of these whipper snappers do.
My last want is getting my first challenge cup on my profile which is S28.
Secondly here is about my players:
Both of my first two players were 1k+ TPE players so I know how to get the job done. For anyone who doesn’t know my first two players were Ratzon and then Caelum. For the most part I am a contract player and do not make a lot of money writing articles. This one is definitely an anomaly.
Also I am not super in love with Aizawa. Not to say that I would blindside a team with retirement (which I never have done). But he has definitely been an experiment with mixed results. I was always curious about creating a player with a passing weakness and it definitely has had mixed results. I am not sure if it is the fault of the panthers or the fault of the low passing stat but my player has definitely been a low +/- player throughout his career. If I were to recreate it may actually be as a goalie to try something different.
Now to look at the teams and share my thoughts as they are listed on the site:
Stampede:
There are some people on this team who I recoginize and have been around a long time. I believe finn is S20 like I am. I also see my boy @Trautner there from the Scorpion in PBE as well. Overall a lot of names I don’t recognize
Syndicate:
This is a team with a lot of names that I have known over the years and at this point it really is years. I have known @kit since he was a wee boy in S19. I also of course got my first cup with @teztify. This is a very solid bunch of veteran members
Steelhawks:
What an interesting group of members who I definitely met during the creation of Aizawa as long back as that was now. A very solid group of people who have definitely been around a while including be GM’d by McJesus who has been around since the dinosaurs
Rage:
This is a team that I almost have gone to over the years mainly for odd reasons or at odd times of different players careers. The funny this is that the last time I almost did I believe they won the cup but I think that was under Ratzon and not Caelum. Obviously I know @JayWhy as he was one of the main people who got me to go to Edmonton in the first place and also got me my first cup as simmer.
NEW:
This is another team I also went to with Ratzon. I remember when @Ace first took over this team and I think really helped turn it around. He was able to have a strong S20 draft and took players that even when they went inactive had still created 1k+ TPE players who were effective way afterwards. Looking through their roster @Mavfatha stands out to me as being my CO from PBE when I first took over Death Valley in PBE and making it the team it is now. He’s great
Tampe Bay:
This is a team that is very interesting to me as it is a newer team. It also has a wide range of members in terms of personality from their GM’s to the rest of their players. To me they look like a very interesting group
Toronto:
A team in the north! Something that I always remember about Toronto was their GM turnover and not in a bad way. It was early on when I was in the GM chat and their GM was retiring. It’s an odd memory but I mostly remember it because it was one of my first when I was a CO GM. Looking through their roster there are a lot of people who I recognize from over the years both who I’ve gotten to know and those who I have not
WKP:
My home and native land. The place where I unfortunately did not win a cup but a place that was very cool to be. This was my first ever team in SHL back when Joey and Syckez were making the team a joke, I mean running the team. Ever since Bojo was co back then to what he and later JR have been able to do for that team is amazing. Its wild to see how much things have changed and how that team went from a bottom feeder with a Schmidt posting memes to a strong most seasons
Calgary:
This is a team I have always wanted to play for. Why you may ask? I really have no idea to be honest. They were my #1 choice of team in S20 when I first got drafted and in the drafts since then it was never meant to be. To be honest I am not overly heart broken about it. It’s just facts. Looking at their roster they have a lot of people I recognize over the last few years from people who came the season after I did to people who have become super big in the last few years. They have a very interesting mix on their roster of people
Blizz:
So this is where @sarmo ended up after all these years. Not really a bad thing just surprised. This is a team that I have some of the fondest memories with. To when I first left WKP in free agency years ago and player NHL at 3 am with Keenan. It was a team that definitely holds a place in my heart to doing homework in college while having Chatzy open. It was a really cool place and where I won my first challenge cup
LAP:
We are going separate ways
Chiefs:
This is definitely where I reinvigorated the first time in SHL. I was getting burnt out and it was hard. I got traded from Portland after getting a low paying contract there and it was hard. My time in Minny was my first time being CO under Baelor. It was a wild experience that also included a cup and one that I definitely look back on fondly. I was happy to turn over being Co there. Its definitely cool to see some of the older names on that list like Fever who has also been around along time.
Specters:
Jesus. I thought NEW was the PBE team, boy do I need to catch up. This team is filled with people who have players who have been in PBE as well as SHL. It’s a cool list of who’s from PBE and people who I think are rather cool. I definitely miss talking to some of these people who have been scorpions over the years.
San Fran:
Its wild to see Grape still as the GM here. Not in a bad way at all but I remember when they first took over San Fran. I obviously wish them the best and glad to see they have been GM for as long. Looking over the roster, there are a lot of people I recognize from over the years including @Beaver as well as people who come from S20 like I do.
Texas:
This is a team I almost went to years ago as well. It is interesting looking over their roster with names that I recognize. People who I know that have gone to Texas have always said they enjoyed the experience
Winnipeg:
It is still weird not seeing L4E as the GM of Winnipeg. I am sure other people are used to it but when you look at a team and see a different GM then the one you were used to years ago it is definitely weird. To be honest though there are other names that I recognize that have been around a while and definitely some cool people for sure.
If you’ve read down this far I appreciate it and hope that I get to go somewhere that reinvigorates my interest in SHL. I really do want to have a good ending for Aizawa and have him reach over 1k TPE but obviously beggars in this case can't be choosers
