The Great Blackout of S50 - Kalakar - 10-20-2019 It was an early sunday morning game as the SMJHL players got accustomed to the new schedule set by the league at the beginning of the season. Players had to change their routines around to be awake and ready to play very early in the day. It was either that or get thrown off the team I suppose. One thing's for sure, Detroit's Jagger Fouquette is really enjoying this new schedule, as he leads the SMJHL in points. While the SHL is currently dealing with a week long drama event, the SMJHL is silently doing its thing, now past the halfway mark of the season. Lethbridge and Anchorage are tied at the top of the leaderboards and Halifax sits at the very end, as is tradition. When the teams' players hit the ice in the middle of the night to play in front of empty arenas, they didn't know what was about to happen. Behind the scenes, chaos was about to begin. On the 49th day, the SMJHL broadcasters went on strike. Total blackout across the continent. Only the meager amount of fans in attendance were able to watch the games and know what really happened on the ice as everyone else was left dumbfounded. The league released the scores for all the games that happened that day, but fans were pissed. Nobody knew who had scored or how the games went down but the fans in attendance. They began to release tidbits online in exchange of payment. Fans were quick to ask for the league simmer's head, demanding they bring back CK. Some also wanted the league to bring back Evok. The day after the Dark Blackout, everything seemed as if nothing had ever happened. Games went live and people could watch them as they had since the beginning of the season. The official broadcasting team never made any demands. We're still not truly sure why they did what they did, but one thing's for sure, they better damn not blackout any games during the playoffs. Sorry friends, I messed up this morning's sim and games played on Day 49 are forever lost in the abyss. Dumb RP reason. RE: The Great Blackout of S50 - SecondSucks22 - 10-20-2019 I mean, if your gonna mess up irl. might aswell have a fun reason in sim for it! RE: The Great Blackout of S50 - golden_apricot - 10-21-2019 Can we get a player strike this Sunday? Just remove all players and add random guys. |
