Ross Irons Steps Down as Winnipeg Jets GM - StadiumGambler - 01-03-2020
Stepping down as Jets GM tonight due to accumulated IRL stress. I've had a rough past month or so due to some BS circumstances I don't want to get into, and its caused me to be off the ball for various things on-site over this past season (we were supposed to trade away more than just Troy for the rebuild, I started our SMJHL prospect in two games of a day's sim instead of one, and I was slow on the mark with a couple line changes, including one in the playoffs. Probably a few other things too like our cap situation maybe, idk) I feel it'd be a disservice to me and to the Jets to keep going on like this, so I'm stepping down from the role.
I'll still be around as a player with the Jets if the new GM wants to keep me around (I'll take a team-friendly deal), and I'll still do some updating/cash earning when I can to make Big Dick Nick Brain the stud he was never supposed to be. I'm obviously not satisfied with the way my GM tenure turned out, and I still can't wrap my head around how we went from tanking while trying to win a Cup in Season 50 to making the playoffs despite wanting to rebuild in Season 51. However, the new GM coming in has four Reddit picks to work with in the first two rounds, will have a full boat of 1st rounders, and will have a nice LR (if a little quiet, another thing I meant to fix and couldn't get to do.). We're not in a terrible spot, and with the right hire, hopefully we'll get back to the glory days of ye olde Jets.
I'd like to give shoutouts to @LarksTongue and @Scrufdaddy for being great players here and nice to me, shoutouts to @Gaia Mormont, @jason97 and the other active Jets for being good LR influences, shoutouts to @Troy_McClure03 and @FlappyGiraffe for setting the table for me (even if I screwed it up), shoutouts to @JKortesi81 @hhh81 and @"TommySalami" for some supportive DMs, and shoutouts to the rest of the Jets and Raptors la familias I've been a part of over this past year on the site. Love you guys.

Sucks that you're not going to get to see the rebuild through. You've set up whoever takes over the Jets with a bunch of assets and they'll be competing again in no time! Good luck with Brain through the rest of his career @StadiumGambler!
