Luke's S52 Prospect Rankings: #12 New England Wolfpack - luke - 02-02-2020

New England Wolfpack
New England is a very weird team these couple seasons. First they had an amazing run to the finals, helped by a dominant year by Johannes Leitner and strong showings of their players. But after that finals, things started to go downhill from there, missing out of the playoffs the next 2 seasons. Even making trades to strengthen their forward core they couldnt, so hopefully this season could be different. Now lets get into the prospects.

Elite:
S52: Kenvald  -  Sven Yxskaft
Recent draft pick, Yxskaft is a defenseman that was drafted to Vancouver earlier in that season. From Sweden, Yxskaft describes himself as a two-way defenseman, as it showed a bit in Vancouver. For an underwhelming Whalers team, Yxskaft had his own struggles in the season, only managing to get 1 goals and 8 assists in those 50 games. Yxskaft played only a bit on the Power play and some good time on the penalty kill though. In terms of the draft he was drafted 5th OA to New England, so their management must have saw something in him that they liked. In terms of TPE he is #6 in TPE, so it make sense where they picked him. For the User, he is apart of the SMJHL Awards Committee, he has an alright bank account, and he does write articles and recently did a PBP as well. Talks a good amount in the LR too. A good pick for New England who is starting to try  to get younger, as some of their defenseman are aging.

High End:
S49: JayTheGreat  -  Jakub Bruchevski
Now in his 4th season in the organization, Jakub got the call up to the SHL, as this season will be his rookie season in the SHL.  Jakub had a great S50 SMJHL season, amassing 61 points, but then followed it up with a 31 point season the next must have been frustrated for Jakub, but his talent is still there. Jakub is a Sniper forward from Russia, he is looking onwards to the SHL to see where he can carve out his role in New England. Currently he is on the 3rd line in New England, with not a ton of production to start the season. For his draft, Jakub went 17th OA to New England, and for TPE he is at #12 so he is definitely exceeding his expectations right now. For the user he has a good bank account right now, he did the Hot Potato Trophy stuff early on and now wrote 2 articles during january, so hopefully we get to see some more articles from him.

High End/Very Good:
S49: Massive Coiler  -  Delver Fudgeson
Also in his 4th season in the organization, Delver also got the call up to the SHL, just like Jakub. Delver Fudgeson is a two-way defenseman hailing from Canada, and his junior career has been great, as last season he lead Lethbridge in points as a defenseman with 45 points(12 goals and 33 assists). At the beginning of this season, Fudgeson ahs done slightly better than Bruchevski so far, getting 5 assists so far into the season, playing a bit of the PK, and mostly being on the 3rd pairing next to Dylan Karlsson. For his draft season, he was drafted 22nd OA to New England. For TPE he is at 695 TPE, which is good for 14th for his draft class which is also good. In terms of the user, he created a good player in Tony Flow back in the S20’s,but one gripe I have at the moment is that he only has 1.25 mil in his bank account, which will limit his TPE gains from training. But other than that he is looking like a good prospect for NEW to keep on developing.

Good:

S52: scottisheyebrows  -  Nicholas Corrigan
Drafted in this most recent draft, Corrigan is a playmaker winger from Canada, and he is currently playing for the Vancouver Whalers. In his rookie season with the Whalers, he did decent for a rookie, recording 6 goals and 5 assists for 11 points, and no special team play that season. In terms of the draft, Corrigan went 21st OA to NEW, and for TPE Corrigan is at 245 which is good for 28th highest in the draft, so yeah, take that what you will. In terms of the user he talked a bit in Vancouver from what I’ve seen. He has an alright bank account as well, pretty good for a 2nd rounder in a very weak draft. Time will tell for Corrigan on where he ends up.

S51: Jabs -  Mike Hroch
Also in his 2nd season after getting drafted to New Orleans, Hroch has seen good success as a goalie in Carolina. Born in the Czech Republic, Hronch was drafted to Carolina to be their future starter goalie, as this season will be his first season as a start. Last season as a backup he was able to have 8 starts and earn a good 5 wins and 3 losses for a 2.73 GAA and .904 SV% to go along with it. For his draft, he was drafted 22nd OA, and in terms of TPE he is at 392 which is good for #19 which is good for his draft position. In terms of the user Jabs is low on money, only having 300k, and he hasnt written in a while, so that could falter his growth, but for now he is looking to be taking his time before entering the Starter spot for New England, as Leitner is about to enter regression.

S50: Acdangel  - Sasha Dangelchek
Drafted in the S50 draft, Dangelchek is a power forward from the Czech Republic who currently plays for the St Louis Scarecrows. Last season he did pretty good, getting 10 goals and 22 assists while also getting 101 hits and 44 PIMs to go along with it. For his draft he is drafted 34th OA and for his TPE he is at 440 TPE which is good for 37th most in his class which is decent. For the user Acdangel’s activity is here and there on the site, but he has a good bank account and he has been updating which is a good sign. Hopefully he is able to develop more and turn into a good 3rd liner in the future. He still has a couple more seasons before being forced to call up.

S50: UnderSpider -  Berry Blue

Blue is now in his 2nd season after getting drafted to New England last season. Blue is a two-way defenseman from the UK who currently plays for the Anchorage Armada.  Blue had a decent season offensively for Blue, getting 4 goals and 25 assists, who played a lot of Penalty Kill and a bit from the Power Play which is good for Blue. In terms of the draft Blue was drafted 24th OA. In terms of TPE he is at 299 TPE which is #24 so perfectly where he was drafted. In terms of the user UnderSpider is what I would fall under good. TPE is underwhelming looking at everyone else in his draft, but if he keeps on earning TPE then he will make the SHL, rooting for him.
