S48 Anaheim Outlaws HOF - SpartanGibbles - 02-24-2020 ANAHEIM OUTLAWS HALL OF FAME Thank you for joining us today(although much later than planned) for the Anaheim Outlaws Hall of Fame Induction Ceremony. I decided this season to split the posts so that each can get their own focus as a separate entity. That being said, we are here to honor the S48 Class of the Anaheim Outlaws. This draft class was the last part that made up the S47 Four Star Cup winning team and was a huge part of the S48 team that made the Finals. Tonight we have 3 total inductions to make into the AOHoF. As per usual players only have 1 chance to make it into the Hall with their draft class. Without further adieu, let us begin the ceremony.
Our first inductee for the S48 class of the Anaheim Outlaws Hall of Fame is the only defenseman of their class. This player was a cornerstone of the Anaheim defensive corps throughout their tenure with the team. They were drafted with the 32nd overall pick in the S47 SMJHL Entry Draft. At the time of writing this they hold the franchise All-Time Shots Blocked record as well as the Playoffs Hits for defense. They played 141 games for the Anaheim Outlaws during their career before moving on the the SHL to play for the Minnesota Chiefs. They finished their Outlaws career with 6 Goals, 70 Assists, 76 Points, 185 Hits, 192 Shots Blocked, 3103 Minutes played, and 121 Penalty Minutes. They won 1 Four Star Cup and made the Finals twice. They were an Alternate Captain for S49 and a S47 Esa Anrikkanen Nominee. They won the following team awards; S47 Greenhorn and S49 Wanted Poster. They have been an amazing part of the Anaheim Locker Room and I am proud to currently still GM them in the SHL.
Our first inductee for the class of S48 is...... Noah Tedla (@tedlamotors) Our second inductee is the only forward from their class to join the AOHoF. This player was a leading presence in the Anaheim Locker Room and continues to serve as a member of team management to this day. They were taken as the 6th overall pick in the S47 SMJHL Entry Draft. They were nominated for the S50 Ron Bolt and Brandon Holmes awards in the SMJHL. The won the following Anaheim Team Awards; S48 Quickdraw, S50 Quickdraw, S50 Bounty Hunter, S50 Desperado, S50 One Last Job, and the S50 Ringleader Awards. They were the Team Captain for Seasons 49 and 50. They hold the team record for Forward Playoff Assists. They played a total of 200 Games for the Outlaws totaling 54 Goals, 70 Assists, 124 Points, 127 Hits, 38 Shots Blocked, 3451 Minutes played, and 31 Penalty Minutes. They won 1 Four Star Cup and made the Finals twice. After their time in Anaheim they moved up to the Chicago Syndicate in the SHL. It was my honor and privilege to GM for their tenure in Anaheim as they were an amazing addition to our team.
The second addition to the Anaheim Outlaws Hall of Fame Class of S48 is..... Nick Connolly(@shutdown) For our final addition to the AOHoF Tonight we honor a past member of management. I will post what another member of team management had to write on the subject below as I personally do not feel it is my place to write this induction. Players aren’t the only deciding factor in a team’s performance, as we all know. This next inductee is already a part of Anaheim’s player hall of fame, but due to his fantastic leadership off the ice he deserves an accolade speaking to his prowess as a Co-General Manager as well as a General Manager. Being only the 2nd GM in Anaheim’s history put a lot of pressure on him and he was able to rise to the occasion. He helped shape the Anaheim roster in their first championship season in S47 and took over full control of the reins in S49. After back to back cup appearances, he was left with a depleted roster and was able to right the ship with calculated draft picks and trades which certainly cut-down the rebuild time immensely. His work didn’t go unnoticed as he is now a GM in the SHL. We are proud to name the second management inductee into the Anaheim Outlaws HOF..... SpartanGibbles(@SpartanGibbles) I want to take this chance to congratulate the latest inductee's to the Anaheim Outlaws Hall of Fame. We have taken pride in helping create some fantastic players in the SMJHL and the people added to this class exemplify this commitment to excellence. One day down the line hopefully we see each of them become the stars we know they are capable of being.
On a more personal note, I want to thank the organization for this honor. While it was nice to be recognized previously for my players success, my contributions and connections made in Anaheim will always be the biggest impact on my views of our community. I didn't really get what I was joining over a year ago when I first found this site but the things I have been able to accomplish all stem from the great place I was drafted to. It's hard to imagine the impact small things like making the Outlungus meme as a rookie when I got day drunk would affect the franchise. I can only hope that even in my relatively short tenure as Co-GM and Head GM that I was able to give back even a fraction of what I gained. It was a hard decision to move on from the place I was so focused on but I knew I was leaving the team in capable hands with a fantastic management group behind me. I had originally planned to be the Anaheim GM for a much longer tenure but sometimes life changes your plans. While I have now moved onto a new opportunity in Minnesota, Anaheim will always be my first home for the SHL and I will continue to help to see it flourish and thrive as we enter a new era of the SHL. Thank you once again and this concludes the Anaheim Outlaws Induction Ceremony for S48.
