Both expansion teams have seen their fair share of trouble over the first dozen games of the season, but the struggles of being part of expansion came to light today on the ice for the Nevada Battleborn. It seems that between the stress of having a tough start and lines that don't quite click yet, NBB player Sammy "The Goon" Koa had a mental and physical breakdown during one of his early shifts. After getting hit into the boards and falling to his knees, Koa remained there for several minutes, seemingly locked into the fetal position and muttering quietly to himself. A timeout was called in order to get him to the bench so the team psychologist could talk him out of his stupor. Later in the game, it happened again, however this time, sobs could be heard coming from the curled up player. During his time spent in the corner, NBB managed to let in 5 goals and score none, netting Sammy a rough -5 in the +/- department, while the analysts who give out game ratings gave out their lowest rating in recent memory (if not ever), a Defensive Game Rating of 1.
