(Graded) Deep Dive #2 - Quebec City Petrovs - Muford - 08-28-2020

The next Deep Dive will dive into the Quebec City Citadelles, and their Petrov horde. The Quebec City Citadelles were an expansion team this past off-season and some would say hit gold when they were able to bring Three Petrovs into their mists. The Petrov Clan is somewhat of a known group, except for some of the younger brothers, like Boris Petrov and Bobov Petrov. Today we are going to deep dive into these younger brothers, as well as discuss Teylora Petrov, the third Petrov in Quebec City.

Teylora Petrov led all Quebec City Citadelles in points, with 14 for a defenseman. He had 3 goals and 11 assists while playing the most minutes out of any Petrov at 19:05 a game. Teylora struggled with his +/- at negative 14, but those are expected for an expansion team. On top of all of that, Teylora was the least likely Petrov to hit, having only 8 hits throughout 50 games. Teylora fashioned his game offensively, and it paid off. Teylora was also the second least penalized Petrov, collecting only 2 total Penalty Minutes throughout the whole season. That is quite great, especially since he averaged over 19 minutes a game.  Teylora was the most likely to put his body on the line as well, as he had the most Shots Blocked out of any Petrov, with 49 of them.

The Next Petrov in Quebec is Boris. Boris is a brute. Hands down, no other way to put it then that. Boris, while seeing the ice for 18:09 a game, he was a monster, and that is putting it lightly. He had over 200 minutes in penalty minutes, stopping at a staggering 211. On top of that, in 50 games, FIFTY GAMES, Boris had 326 hits. That is a disgusting amount of hits. Besides those hits and penalty minutes, he was still able to put up some points. Boris had 13 points total, which was broken down into three goals and 10 assists. The Petrov Clan in Quebec City knew what they wanted, and they went for it. Well, at least Boris did. Blood was his name, his game, and everything in between. Don’t forget, that Boris got into 15 fights, and won 9 of those. When Boris wasn’t being sent to the Penalty Box, he was quite a productive member of the Quebec City Citadelles.

The Last Petrov that was in Quebec City, but not the least important one, was Bobov Petrov, a Right Winger. He sadly only saw 38 games, as there were a few games that he was not dressed for. In those 38 games, he scored 10 points, amassing 4 goals with 6 assists. On top of that, he had the best shot percentage, having a 21.05 shot % on 19 shots. Bobov only saw 13:13 of ice time, but he did the most with it. Average shooting % is 12, so Bobov killed that, granted he didn’t really shoot much, but when he did he was able to find gold with it. Bobov was on top of his game, when he was on the ice, and hopefully in the upcoming season he will get some more of it.

The Quebec City Citadelles have built a decent foundation of Petrovs, and it is one great one to have. The more Petrovs you have in your lineup, the better it is for everyone all around. Quebec City will look to continue to build on all of these Petrovs moving forward and become a force to be reckoned with in the Minors for years to come.
