jRuutu/Acsolap Punishments - Allegiant - 11-21-2020

Good afternoon, SHL.

It has come to the attention of the SHL Head Office that users @jRuutu and @Acsolap have recently been in violation of the rules. Both of these fall under the SHL Rulebook, Section 2, Subsection J, Rule 4, which states the following:

Code:
Personal attacks, excessive/malicious trolling, spamming, language/rhetoric that includes hate speech (ex. racism, homophobia, ableism), or any comments made that belittle members of a certain religious, ethnic, or oppressed group will not be tolerated

As a result of this rule, Head Office is handing out the following punishments to these users:

- A 1 week forum ban for Acsolap which will conclude at 5:55 PM EST November 28th, along with a 3 game player suspension.
- A 2 week forum ban for jRuutu which will conclude at 5:55 PM EST December 5th, along with a 5 game player suspension.

These are obviously different issues, so I don't want to conflate the two. We acknowledge that Acsolap expressed regret for the terminology he used even before Head Office took action, but both the language and the context in which it was used make it an automatic violation. While there was no single post responsible for jRuutu's further suspension, we felt that -- given both the nature of his recent conduct and the previous warnings he was given -- his behaviour was a clear instance of excessive trolling. While we aim to take seriously complaints around language or wrongdoing, we would like to emphasize that complaints should only be made in good faith. The SHL Rulebook is not intended to be leveraged as a tool in interpersonal conflict, or Thunderdome drama.

I'm looking forward to when Ruutu comes back from his suspension and nothing changes at all in his behaviour...again

Allegiant you made it back to the discipline committee after all these years.

Free agents are the cancer of every league. Testing the free agency and seeing what your value might be is a move done by cowards and selfish players. Never understood the desire to leave for free - I mean why do it? If you want a change of scenery, why not ask for a trade?

Starting to see quite few almost undraftable players in this league, why should teams waste a first round pick to a user who is almost guaranteed to leave for free at some point?

In general to free agents: what you think will happen when you play these games time after time? Do you think number of teams who want to have you in their organization will be bigger or smaller?

Mysterious world this free agency world.

Should have banned ruutu outright

RE: jRuutu/Acsolap Punishments - JumpierPegasus - 11-21-2020

Nour = tyrant? Who's with me?

This is shameful SHL. Guy makes people feel unsafe to be members of this league and only gets a 2 week ban. This should be permanent. Absolute joke of a punishment.

I can’t wait for Rutuu to come back and show how much he’s learned the past two weeks. Obviously this is going to trigger a massive change. Get out of here with this shit.

If you want to leave your team why would you want your new team to give up a ton of shit? Trust me I've been on the other end of that where I have had top prospects and players leave for free when I was a GM, it's just part of the game/experience.

Calling them the cancer or the league and cowards is kind of fucked, I would go as far as to say that "cowards" would never use their agency to improve their prospects at a cup and that without FA the league would be very stale.

I understand the process, doesn't mean I agree with it. But I get it. Hopefully after 2 weeks the man comes back with some sense but I won't hold my breath
