Vancouver’s S58 Draft Analyzed By A Player Who Knows Nothing (x2?) - Kettellkorn - 02-06-2021

Hello fellow living beings! It’s me, Austin Smith, left wing of the Vancouver Whalers. I’m here to very poorly analyze the 5 entry draft picks by the Whalers, the best team in the SMJHL.

With the 9th pick in the draft Vancouver selected Alexis Saint-Michel, left wing, who played 28 games with us last season. I personally liked what they brought to the team so I’m excited to see them back in the locker room with us for the coming season. Alexis seems to be a recreate with a fairly large bank account and a hefty amount of activity. Alexis looks promising as a potential building block for the next few seasons for Vancouver. Definitely a solid pick at 9th overall.

The next pick for Vancouver doesn’t appear until the third round. Pick number 30 of the entry draft brings in Sven Svechknikov. Sven, a Swedish defensemen,  appears to be new to sim hockey, but from what I can tell he seems to be a very quick learner. He’s on top of his TPE earnings which is something that I wish I would have been better at when I first started. His bank account is healthy for a new user, and his TPE amount is more than acceptable. If he can keep this activity up, Sven will be a great addition to Vancouver on the defensive side of the ice. Lord knows we need all the help we can get!

Picks 45 and 52 get lumped together, Robot Sunfish and Strawberry Sailfish respectively. First of all, awesome names, I love it! Strawberry appears to be a recreate after his last player, The Grapefruit Lizard unfortunately passed away. His activity appears to be about average so hopefully Strawberry doesn’t meet the same fate as he’s previous player. As for Robot, he is a new user, and winger as is the aforementioned fish. Robot appears to be grasping the fundamentals of the league quite well for a new user. I’m excited to see how he progresses. Overall, these two picks are very exciting to me and I can only hope that we have a line with the fish dynamic duo on each wing. One can dream I guess.

With Vancouver’s last pick, at 64th overall Vancouver selected Kman George. Kman is appears to be a big centerman coming out of Toronto. It seems that he’s building a playmaker which is always exciting to see on the ice. His activity seems to be below average which is most likely why he fell so far down in the draft. With his player build looking likely to be helpful for the team, I can only hope he sticks around and becomes a big part of Vancouver’s offense.

(452words) is x2 draft media still available?
