Hired: SMJHL Awards Committee Members - Matteo - 03-04-2021
Hey everyone!
With the end of the regular season of S58 on the horizon, I'd like to thank @Thatguy91 and @Toast for your amazing seasons and all the great discussion, you were both in the committee when I first became a member and welcomed me to the team. Henrik (Thatguy), keep up the great work as GM of the San Francisco Pride, I'll be looking forward to the matchups when I make the jump to the SHL next season! Toast, good luck as the GM of the Maine Timber, you're gonna do awesome!
Their departure means that the SMJHL Awards Committee will be looking for three new members (the third spot was me)! Committee members are expected to research and participate in discussion about each award leading up to voting, and also submit their ballots before the deadline. The pay is $2.5 million per season.
Applications will stay open until this Wednesday, March 10, at 11:59 pm EST. Please PM me on Discord with your username on the site and answers to the following questions:
- Why would you like to join the awards committee?
- As an awards committee member you'll have to check any biases at the door. How would you go about making sure that you stay impartial when discussing or voting on awards?
- Which stats would you place the most weight on when voting or discussing the Brandon Holmes Trophy for the top defensive forward?
- Which stats would you place the most weight on when voting or discussing the Brodie Witzel Trophy for the MVP of the playoffs?
- How closely do you follow the SMJHL?
- Do you have any ideas for any awards you'd want to add, remove, or otherwise change?
- Is there anything else you'd like me to know?
