So, here we are.  The Colorado Raptors have lost 6 straight.  And to add a little doom with that gloom, they have lost to both Nevada and Maine, both in the bottom three, in this run.  What ever shall the team do to fix this situation?  Well, it is simple. R. E. S. T.

The last couple of weeks have been brutal for the Raptors.  There have been three (!) back to backs in this losing streak.  And, going back even farther, it becomes obvious that the Raptors winning ways has to slow down.  With 12 back to backs already this season and only 34 games played.  Some quick math tells you that only 10 games played have not been in a back to back.  On top of that, in the 34 games played, 14 went into OT or SO.  The players aren't machines.  Playing virtually every night would even slow down the high flying Kelowna Knights (who have only had 7 back to backs all season in 31 games played).  Though there may be 10 more back to backs scheduled, they are more spread out with 32 games remaining in the regular season.

All that said, let's hope this extra conditioning helps propel the Raptors to the playoffs.  They have lost considerable ground during this losing streak.  Though they remain in first in the South West division, the Anaheim Outlaws are right there.  With one game in hand and only one point behind, it is going to be a close race.  One thing is for sure, Nevada would need a considerable uptick in results to even get close, in this current two horse race.  They are down 17 points, with two games in hand.  On top of the staggering -54 goal differential.  For every Kelowna, there are always one or two Nevadas.

With all this said, Colorado is still in first place in the division.  That is all that really matters.  It does not need to be on top of the conference (though it would be nice).  The rookies are steadily improving and the roster is finally coming into form.  There are no longer any inactives on the roster, which only indicates a bright future going forward.
