The Anaheim Outlaws recently held a Pro Day to showcase their very worthy young talent pool to the scouts of the SHL. It would be a travesty if it were only Anaheim players to get some pre-draft love in the SHL media. While the Scarecrows may not have the sheer number of top prospects that Anaheim has, there are definitely four top-bill prospects waiting in the wings here in the Midwest. I know a lot of the attributes will change with the new update - heck, I'm adding 34 attribute pops alone. So, in response to a brilliantly organized Anaheim Pro Day, here I present the brimming talent of the St. Louis Scarecrows!

- Stanton has been a great depth D performer his rookie year. He was one of the best gems of the S59 SMJHL draft - picked in the 3rd round but becoming one of the top TPE earners of the class. While on the 3rd pair this year, Mars had some great stats, highlighted by his 60 defensive rating. Defenders are paid to keep the puck out of the net and Mars Stanton did just that. Stat highlights: 19:03 ATOI, 7 goals, 9 assists, 85 blocks, 60 DGR. He is one of the nine active defensemen in this year's draft class: look for him to be off the board by the end of round 1.

LW - Maverick Seabrook

TPE: 320
Bank: $4,300,000
SMJHL Draft Position: 11

Offensive Ratings
Screening: 13

Stamina: 12
Strength: 12
Fighting: 5

Mental Ratings
Aggression: 7
Bravery: 7

Seabrook is a former first round pick with tremendous offensive upside. He had a very low 11:35 average ice time this past season and yet put up 12 goals and 10 assists (those 12 goals were tied for 4th best on the team). His attributes are well spread to compliment his offensive prowess. Any SHL team looking for a future winger to put up points needs to look this way. Stat Highlights: 12 goals, 10 assists, 70 shots, 55 OGR.

RW - Nikolai Ayerzov
TPE: 277
Bank: $7,900,000
SMJHL Draft Position: 14

Offensive Ratings
Screening: 10
Getting Open: 10
Passing: 10
Puckhandling: 12
Shooting Accuracy: 13
Shooting Range: 10
Offensive Read: 11

Defensive Ratings
Checking: 10
Hitting: 9
Positioning: 10
Stickchecking: 10
Shot Blocking: 11
Faceoffs: 10
Defensive Read: 10

Physical Ratings
Acceleration: 10
Agility: 10
Balance: 10
Speed: 11
Stamina: 11
Strength: 11
Fighting: 7

Mental Ratings
Aggression: 9
Bravery: 8

Ayerzov has the makings of a great SHL gem talent: an active LR user that missed a few PTs to start which puts them slightly behind. They should in no way be out of the conversation. Ayerzov is one of the most balanced players in the draft. There are no weak points. I could realistically see Nikolai being picked in the late first round. A lot of players burn very brightly for a few seasons and fizzle out - I see faded living up to the name and being a constant shimmer in the league. Stat Highlights: team low 10:56 ATOI, 7 goals, 10 assists, 67 shots, 60 blocks.

D - Marcel Beck
TPE: 329
Bank: $22,487,000
SMJHL Draft Position: 8
Offensive Ratings
Screening: 5
Getting Open: 7
Passing: 10
Puckhandling: 13
Shooting Accuracy: 9
Shooting Range: 9
Offensive Read: 10
Defensive Ratings
Checking: 10
Hitting: 10
Positioning: 12
Stickchecking: 11
Shot Blocking: 9
Faceoffs: 5
Defensive Read: 13
Physical Ratings
Acceleration: 13
Agility: 11
Balance: 12
Speed: 11
Stamina: 13
Strength: 11
Fighting: 7
Mental Ratings
Aggression: 7
Bravery: 9
Beck is a great defender that models his game after Jaccob Slavin. Defensive prowess is the base building block to his game and he has slowly improved at offense as the season went along. He was second on the team in ATOI, and first among defenders in DGR. He has a great foundation to be a good player in the SHL. He is another of the nine active D in this draft, so I expect him to go early. Stat Highlights: 20:49 ATOI, 5 goals, 11 assists, 70 hits, 66 DGR.
That's all folks! Come back next season!

How about 50/50. I definitely wouldn't have written it if you didn't first.
