This league is straight trash when it comes to reading rules. Make some kind of [better] notice that un-retiring costs TPE before more people get clowned by this (reasonable) rule.

Thanks for the suggestion! I think it's worth thinking on, especially in light of it being an issue more than once. There will always be human error (and people need to be responsible for their actions), but there's likely something we can do better to make sure it's clear for people!
