(GRADED) Deep Dive #1 - S61 Draft Top 10: Season Review - Thunder39 - 10-03-2021 1: Maine Timber (via REG) - Jesper Aittokallio - JayWhy 66 Games - 12 Goals - 24 Assists - 36 Points - Even - 2 Pims - 51 Blocks - 47 Hits Maine went big this past draft and traded up to 1OA to take Aittokallio. They didn't look a bit out of place for the Timber, finishing with 36 points in 66 games and even plus minus to boot. Look for them to add to their 15:59 average time on ice next season as they push for the number one center spot. 2: Anchorage Armada (via MET) (via NBB) - Paul Koivu - Briedaqueduc 66 Games - 9 Goals - 16 Assists - 25 Points - +2 - 16 Pims - 48 Blocks - 49 Hits Koivu slotted in comfortably on ANC’s third line LW position. They finished with 25 points and a 64 OGR. They were extremely effective at even strength with 22 of their 25 points coming at 5 on 5. 3: Kelowna Knights - Ben Jammin - James Truong 66 Games - 11 Goals - 19 Assists - 30 Points - +3 - 52 Pims - 59 Blocks - 49 Hits Jammin was one of the top performing rookie D's of the season. They hit double digits in goals and grabbed 30 points total along the way. They will look to shoulder a bit more next season as one of KELs top defenders. 4: Anaheim Outlaws (via GFG) - Sconnie McHits - G2019 66 Games - 6 Goals - 19 Assists - 25 Points - -25 - 29 Pims - 83 Blocks - 42 Hits Sconnie came into a pretty bare bones Outlaws team and took full advantage. They finished 6th on the team in points, 1st in assists and had the 2nd best CF% on the team as well. 5: Newfoundland Berserkers (via DET) - Mikko Rashford - RashfordU 66 Games - 17 Goals - 17 Assists - 34 Points - +7 - 20 Pims - 25 Blocks - 57 Hits Rashford hasn’t just been tearing it up with the media, they had themselves a nice little season in Newfoundland as well. 34 points, 17 goals and averaged 19 minutes a night. They are trending up to be one of the better D in the league next season. 6: Maine Timber (via ANC) (via ANA) - Viktor Krunk - Crunk 66 Games - 7 Goals - 14 Assists - 21 Points - Even - 6 Pims - 42 Blocks - 46 Hits Viktor Krunk had a quiet season points wise, when compared with the rest of their Maine teammates. They were one of only 7 players on the team with an even or positive +/- rating and the 6th highest CF% on the team as well. 7: Regina Elk (via MET) - Jaeger Jones - Thunder39 66 Games - 14 Goals - 25 Assists - 39 Points - -17 - 99 Pims - 77 Blocks - 154 Hits While the season was mostly strong for Jones, there is always room for improvement. They finished the year with 39 points including 14 goals, but tended to let their inner goon out too often. 99 PIMs and 154 hits show that he wants to play old school hockey, but needs to learn to pick his moments. 0-7 in fights over the season is an area of concern as well. 8: St. Louis Scarecrows - Viktor Anderson - Vik 66 Games - 9 Goals -14 Assists - 23 Points - -10 - 16 Pims - 19 Blocks - 42 Hits Not a high volume shooter by any means Anderson took full advantage of their shots this season. Finishing with a shooting percentage of 10.7% for 6th on the team. They also had all but on of their 23 points at 5 on 5. 9: Carolina Kraken - Ka Chow - Toxlc 66 Games - 11 Goals - 23 Assists - 34 Points - +5 - 41 Pims - 64 Blocks - 64 Hits Another high performing rookie D, Ka Chow finished with double digit goals and 34 points this season. They showed a bit of an edge as well finishing second on the team in PIMs and throwing 64 hits. 10: Colorado Raptors - Vin Bangsa-Wamy - PhilliesPhan96 66 Games - 3 Goals - 14 Assists - 17 Points - -5 - 4 Pims - 17 Blocks - 26 Hits A quiet first season for Colorado’s rookie center. 17 points, 26 hits all while averaging 9 minutes a night. They will look to improve on their totals next season with a bump in TOI. Quote:678 Words RE: Deep Dive #1 - S61 Draft Top 10: Season Review - Opera_Phantom - 10-04-2021 Approved! +5 TPE @Thunder39 |
